Hoboken Golf

If you need last minute basic golf accessories the day before a round their packed pro shop has you covered. Mini golf is very small and incredibly basic. Outdated Golf simulators $ 30 for an hour and they expect you to fetch balls scattered around the bay or bring your own balls. And the simulators take real tees, but make sure you bring your own or you will have to buy some from their completely overstocked pro shop. 30 minutes of your paid hour will be trying to get the simulator to find the ball. Place needs a lot of work, but a ton of potential is there in a city like Hoboken.

This isn’t a golf shop. It’s a bad parody of a golf shop. As I write this I’m on my way back to Golfsmith, Dick’s, PGA Superstore… Basically ANYWHERE but here.

Last year took a lesson there which was helpful but with the wife expecting was not able to keep up with the practice. Today i decided it was time to brush off the rust and pick up the game again checked the website about memberships saw they were still offering memberships where i can hit unlimited balls (indoor driving range). Since I have been here before I knew what the back looked like but for my game it fit my need, I need repitition not the simulator. To my dismay I get there now there are only two memberships and no indoor driving range only simulators. Essentially the birdie membership you pay 50 per month and the only benefit is they store your clubs or eagle which is 150 per month which is a little steep but get more simulator time. Would be nice to update your website and take the advice of your other feedbacks check your pricing. Your benefits don’t warrant the price and get rid of the mini golf

I am still traumatized from vising this place! We had to pass through Hoboken on our way home so I found this on line, the website was awful and this should have been my first clue of what was in store. But I did pre-​pay for 3 hours of simulated golf so my husband and I were obligated to try it. My husband dropped off our clubs while I waited to go find parking he came out and told me the place looked awful, ripped mats in the simulator, and the simulator looked antiquated and in disrepair.
Anyway we went in and tried to play.
This place is an electrician’s nightmare, wires everywhere some connected some not. Its filled and I mean filled with golf merchandise from the ceiling to the floor! The mini golf looks so bad can’t imagine anyone actually plays there.
The place is dirty, cold and just plain weird…
Please do not go you will be so sorry.

I had a great experience here last night. The pro thanked me for my review (I assume my initial one with 4*s) and we had a good talk about my qualms with the place. Nice to see the employees care about that stuff and they aren’t even the owners. Staff is very attentive and nice. What I also liked was the advice they gave me — to speak to the owner regarding some lie adjustments and things I want to do to my clubs. I very much appreciate someone not trying to BS me and recommend I speak to someone more knowledgeable on the matter.
Did the 30 mins of hitting on the mats into a net for $ 10 again. I was literally the only one there so had the choice of mats. Better experience than the first time bc I didn’t have to hit on a mat with gaping holes. Staff came out back 30 mins after I started to remind me I had hit for 30 mins such that I did not need to pay for another 30. I appreciate that as I only wanted to pay the $ 10.
Looks like they just got some new range balls, which is nice.
Keep my ratings in mind when you’re choosing whether to visit and you should be content/​will have proper expectations.
Recs for the owner would include (I understand some of these require significant investment, and whether they will produce more revenue is unknown…) I know that there are a lot of rich young adults in a mile by a mile square called Hoboken, I’d think ‘if you build it, they will come’…But I wasn’t a marketing major… who knows…: (there is no contact us on the website, so here it is…)
— Unless the mini golf pulls in a ton of revenue, eliminate the mini golf and install something that you see at a golfsmith/​golf galaxy/​PGA store (large putting surface to practice on). Here is the PGA store in Paramus:
— Remove one of the stalls for hitting off mat into nets. Are there ever more than 2 people on those mats at once? Any reason to have 5? Give some more room to each golfer.
— Lay new carpeting below the mats such that it covers the whole surface and carpets/​rugs don’t end in the middle of mat and now I have to hit off of an uneven surface.
— Replace the mats that have HUGE holes that are tough to hit off of…
— Remove from the site that one can hit approximately 100 golf balls in the half hour for $ 10…Anyone looking to work on their swing is NOT hitting 100 balls in a half hour. Can you do it, yea sure, but you’re likely not getting much out of it…
— Take a look at the rates, PGA store in Paramus is $ 99 for a YEAR of unlimited driving range practice (*half hour increments).
I think many people would be turned off as soon as they saw some of the above and never return.

This place is so bad, it’s good & boy do they put the, ‘mini’ in mini-​golf. The GF & I came here while visiting another couple/​friends in Hoboken. Walked in blindly, not sure what to expect, & then the wackiness began. We interrupted the front guy’s smoke break which he was not happy about. Once we walked in we saw all the golf merchandise clutter about & we knew we were in for a ride. The guy greets us, we tell him we’re there for the mini-​golf, and he immediately asks us, if we want to play an 9 hole game or 18. Followed by, ‘we only have 9 holes, so you play it twice to make to make 18′. Needles to say, we scratched our heads at that one. Oh & then he mentioned that there was a golf lesson going on, so we had to be quiet… hahahah.
The place is the size of a large apartment loft, and the mini-​golf course is a real joke. There were ordinary bricks that were supposed to serve as obstacles & a couple of other toy mini-​golf plastic pieces scattered on the ‘course’ which we were not sure what there intended purpose were.
I think we had the most fun laughing at how cheesy & ridiculous the layout was. I wouldn’t go again, but it most certainly was an experience & made us laugh. One for the story banks!

We went then for mini golf and it was a dump. It is 9 holes for $ 4 and the course is smaller than a standard classroom. The holes are not challenging with plastic devices or blocks to make the course seem harder. No one in my group got past 4 of the holes before we did not care anymore. The mini golf is in the back so make sure you look at how bad it is before you pay money for the worst time of your life. The course is uneven, you know what, it is just horrible and words cannot describe it.

A lot of these reviews are a little much. Would I come here to buy an entire set of clubs? Probably not, because there are so many superstores with lower prices. But, these guys are extremely knowledgable and it is a great place to buy the essentials. I’ve come in a few times and have always been treated great and walked away with what I needed.

Please listen to the other people who gave this place a horrible review. I agree completely and would like to add more. I was not there to golf myself but was there with others and we were treated so poorly. The «man» who I am assuming is the owner was so discouraging and basically if you did not have «pro golf» experience was discouraging you from playing. Once we got back there and saw the poor quality of the screens and the place I was amazed. It cost us $ 40 for 2 people an hour time and to be treated like a piece of garbage. Save your money and go somewhere else or you can get better quality than this place playing on your Wii.

If you have ever played a real simulator at retail stores, please do yourself and your wallet a favor and stay away from here. Completely outdated systems. Spent 35 $ played 5 holes and called it a day. Not enjoyable at all. I would go back if the simulators were overhauled completely.
Total waste of my time and money.

So… this is a virtual golf place. not a driving range like you probably expect. They have 3 golf simulators and 3 or 4 other nets for just hitting balls. If you’ve seen one of these things in a Dave and Busters or on a cruise ship, it’s pretty much just like that. It looks like an old warehouse space. the storefront is small and then you walk back and find all the mats and simulators. Not that it has to be quiet, but there’s a kickboxing studio upstairs and you really hear rafters creaking when they jump around.
The rates aren’t too bad. $ 35 to play 18 holes. My buddy and I played Pebble Beach. I feel like the distances are a little off. it told me I never hit a drive farther than 260 yds and I shot a 91 at Pebble? I know I drive it farther and there’s no way i can shoot a 91 at pebble. I’m supposed to play this week and the weather forecast doesn’t look good. If it’s raining, I’ll probably go back here and play.
