Helen’s Dog Walking

My boyfriend stayed home from work (he was feeling sick) and we used the opportunity to observe Helen after being tipped off that she may be lying about walking our dogs. He stayed in the bedroom and waited for her to come. She came in our door and took treats out of our jar to give to our dogs. Then she left without ever walking them. She was in the apartment for roughly 2 minutes total. We are shocked and incredibly upset. We feel completely violated.
That night, we texted her to ask how the dogs were. We wanted to see if she would affirmatively lie. We received the following text: «So sorry I just realized the text failed I have terrible reception on the back end of Hoboken I will definitely double check to make sure they go through. They did amazing today. The weather was nice and warm and they were able to have a good walk. They both peed and pooped.» Because my boyfriend was IN THE APARTMENT, we know with 1000% certainty that this woman never walked our dogs. The idea that she could lie like that is appalling and extremely disconcerting.
Do not hire her.
