French Nails

I completely agree with a review a few down. I used to love coming to this place as it was right by my apartment, never a long wait, and had a great staff. Now that new ownership has taken over, the place has gone downhill. The new manager is rude and the new staff hired is not nearly as good as the girls who used to work there. Their color selection for gel manicures is also very limited, and instead of giving an actual massage after a mani, the owner uses this roller thing which hurts. This place is literally outside my front door but I don’t think I’ll ever go here again unfortunately.

They did a great job. If you have a pedicure especially, you will understand what i mean when they massage your feet and legs.

This place has plummeted since new ownership took over (5 – 6 months ago). Sometimes I stop in after work since they are open later than most Hoboken spots. I’d like to give the benefit of the doubt here, but usually of the two people in the place, neither knows what they are doing. I’ve gotten a botched gel manicure and a sloppy pedicure on different occasions. I would strongly suggest Nail Bar down the street.

Got a great manicure here the other day. It was only $ 11 dollars and looks great. I initially went in thinking I wanted a French manicure, but for the first time EVER (and I’ve been to a lot of nail salons) the tech (who I think is the new owner?) told me my nails were too short and it wouldn’t look right — and she was right. She suggested an alternative, a pale pink which would allow my natural tips to show, and it looks excellent, especially considering it wasn’t a gel mani. The only negatives — the hot towel was WAY too hot and the complimentary back massage was over my jacket.

My gym buddy recommended this place to me and I have walked to Shop Rite many a time and haven’t noticed this spot.
Really tiny place, no frills, but really great work. I don’t know what they put in their gel polish but it does not come off. It will grow out but will never ever chip. It’s incredible.
Highly recommend for no frills mani /​pedi. Limited color selection though so not for the Instagram #nailgoals types.

I’m not sure what I am doing wrong but I just cannot seem to find a nail salon that fits me. I was recommended to go to this salon and the address I was given was 1100 Adams St. I WANT EVERYONE TO UNDERSTAND THAT IS THE WRONG ADDRESS!!! 1100 Adams St is a private condo where families live, where I was confusingly trying to find a nail salon. Don’t be like me. The nail salon is actually located on Jefferson. Apparently she doesn’t want to correct the address on the cards because it’s too much money — not an excuse. THEN, as I waited frustratingly for my appointment things seemed to be getting better. I asked for a french nail, and they came out beautiful. I was going to forget the whole address incident and maybe even return especially since they were so cheap, but not even two days later my nails started to chip. I think when I do it at home they last longer. So disappointed!!!

I love this nail salon. I live right across the street so it is super convenient. It is always clean and the manicurists do a great job.

My favorite nail salon in Hoboken! I used to always go there with my friend. Now that she moved I go less often but I just went there today and they are still that awesome!

Made an appointment here because it was convenient that day… The «manicurist» was butchering my cuticles & I had hang nails and chipped polish the next day at the wedding I got them done for.
Not going back. Nail Bar is a few blocks down Jefferson & worth the slight inconvenience.

10-​day Guarantee for Gels! That’s a big deal. Not only was he extremely meticulous and even patiently redid one of my nails three times, to get it perfect, but he also gave me a really good shoulder massage (not those lame squeeze 3 times and done). You also get 10% back on your loyalty card when you pay in cash, so technically I get a 10% discount every time I go back, which I definitely will!

I have come in a few times since the new owners took over. I really want to like them and continue to go back. They really are very nice and accommodating… They always take me for a pink and white mani and pedi. Even as a walk in. The price has been 30% off all services which is great, BUT manicures and pedicures just don’t last. I find that my nails lift, they are too thick, I have to go back in 1.5−2 weeks and my pedis always chip within a week. It’s a great place to go if you need a mani pedi and you have an event to go to that day.

I was able to take advantage of their $ 24 pedi/​mani for a while. The price increased to $ 30 which still isn’t bad for the Hoboken area but I prefer the $ 24 cost (:
The first time I went in without an appointment on a Saturday afternoon, they took me in right away. Stephanie did my nails and she did a pretty good job. Good enough for $ 24 anyways. The second time around Stephanie was not available (I didn’t call in advanced, so def my fault). The other girl was super friendly but very chatty which I think took away from her focusing on my nails and feet. She still did a decent job. The third time around, still a pretty good job but then they hit me with a price increase as of Dec 1^st. If other salons don’t work out, I’ll def go back.

Judy did an excellent job with my gel manicure. She made my nails look amazing! She was very meticulous which I appreciated very much. I’m excited to see my gel mani last the full 2 weeks. I will definitely be back, since the salon is a block from my home!

i came here on an empty wednesday night, around 6:15 (they close at 7). they were very willing to do my manicure and took much attention to my poor cuticles. it was nothing special, really — but i do like how they soaked my cuticles. it’s amazing that some places don’t do that! the price is extremely reasonable. it’s not a convenient location to my apartment at all, but if i’m ever in the area and my fingernails need a fix, i will go back. looking forward to trying a pedicure, too.

I hate to have to give one star, but I want to warn everyone about this place & make sure people know to go elsewhere in the area.
Went here for a last minute pedi and came out very disappointed. The service was bizarre. Place is ok and clean, but nothing special.
I asked the woman doing my pedi to please just «file the nails» and not to cut them because they were pretty short to begin with. She acted as though she understood my request, but I’m not sure she truly did. She filed my nails, no cutting. However, she got half way through the pedi and I realized she never buffed my calluses. Weird. She had already exfoliated my legs and was too quiet to speak up and didn’t want her to go back…
Not only that, but when she was putting cream on my feet and legs, she rested my foot on her boobs. (you can’t make this stuff up!!!). She kept telling me to relax, but I was horrified!
Don’t go… period.

My go-​to spot for mani-​pedis! $ 30 for both Monday-​Wednesday and you will not wait during the day. They are pretty clean and friendly. The biggest plus is the location– for me, I can be relatively sure I won’t mess up my nails on the way home!
