Dan recently completed an inspection of a condo unit we are purchasing in Union City, New Jersey. To say that Dan did a thorough job would be somewhat of an understatement. He not only spent the time and effort to go through the unit in detail, he explained at length about the functionality of mechanical units and gave a number of helpful preventative maintenance tips. I was impressed by his depth of knowledge. Even after preparing a descriptive report full of high quality photographs, he made himself available for a full round of follow-​up Q&A.

I hired Daniel Lin of Frank Link Home Inspections earlier this month. I had never been through the home buying process, so didn’t know what to expect. Daniel was very quick to respond, and the entire process was seamless. He pointed out things in the apartment that would help me in the future (i.e. how to turn off the water in an emergency, etc). He was thorough, efficient, and honest. I would highly recommend him and would definitely hire him again in the future!

I have hired Daniel Lin twice. He did a fantastic job both times. He not only wrote a detailed report but was also very eager to educate us on what to pay attention on. I learned a lot about home inspection from him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I messaged Frank Lin to do an inspection for a home that i was looking to purchase. I asked him for the price and their availability. Dan quickly responded and gave me the date where he’s available.
Dan arrived 10 minutes before the appointed time. He was very through and made sure every nook and cranny was documented. He made sure to point out that there was a moisture problem at the basement, attic and what the possible causes are.
Everything was checked, including cracks on the floor, tub, condition of the sink water stain in the closet and even the fence.
I received a detailed report 3 – 4 days after complete with photographs of the problem areas. To make a long story short, There is a reason why these guys have earned a good reputation.
They are professionals and they deliver !

While I have been a long-​time Unilocal reader/​user, I have never felt compelled to provide a review of anyone or anything. This fact alone should tell you all you need to know about my experience with Dan Lin as a home inspector. As a first-​time home buyer, I really had no idea what to expect, but Dan’s professionalism and diligence put me at ease. I found him to be thorough (likely the most important quality for a home inspector) and communicative (he explained to me what he was doing and his impressions of the home every step of the way). Would highly recommend!

We chose Dan to do the inspection of our first home from a referral of a friend and we were not disappointed. He seemed very thorough and knowledgable. It was also easy to ask him any questions; big or small. He explained the process during the inspection to know what type of things to look out for. In addition, he responds almost instantly, and at any given time of the day. I feel it is important to have someone you can trust and be comfortable with. I highly recommend.

Outstanding knowledge, service and integrity. When purchasing a first home, the most important thing is to surround yourself with people you can trust. Dan made himself available to answer questions, provide thorough and easy to digest answers, and is an all around good guy. I used Dan twice and both times, (even to accommodate me by traveling an hour!) his attention to detail was fantastic. He pointed out things that the average inspector would not, you must hire this guy. He single-​handled gave me the independent assessment that I needed to make a home buying decision an easy one… and made himself available to answer questions on Christmas Eve. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with our home inspection done by Frank Lin. He was very professional and friendly. He arrived on time, answered all my questions, and was reasonably priced. Unfortunately the inspection (which he had ready the next day for us) turned up issues and we no longer were interested in the home. I will definitely be calling Frank Lin to look at the next property we find! I highly recommend him!

There are not superlatives to describe our experience with Dan. Dan was a tremendous asset during the sale of our home. Dan was punctual, enthusiastic, and more than willing to share his knowledge and opinions. I wish we were purchasing another home in the area so we could use Frank Lin Home Inspections. Building on a long-​standing reputation and a client list built over years of good service by Frank Lin, Dan, his son, has brought the business into the 21^st century. This company has the personnel to do a superior inspection and the tech skills to deliver the information to the client promptly and with excellent documentation. Dan completed an inspection for me on a $ 2.1m Upper West Side cooperative apartment and he was able to point out to me all the things I needed to be concerned about… as well as advise me on the cost and complexity of some of the ideas I had about renovations and changes. He brings his engineer’s training, comprehensive legal/​code knowledge and a careful eye to his work… and he cheerfully put up with innumerable reschedules due to my departure from Boston weather issues. And yes, he was there before me. I would happily use this firm again and I gave them 5 stars because that’s the most you’re able to give!

These guys are the probably most professional and reasonably priced home inspectors you can find in the area! I did multiple quotes for a home inspection and without a doubt out of 3 I had none of them even came close to their price.
Now you’re probably thinking… you get what you pay for… right? WRONG! They were actually earlier than us for the home inspection (I arrived on the dot) and for a 4BR/​3BA home, they took about 3 hours to inspect every nook and cranny!
While they were inspecting, I walked with them and they pointed out the issues and its solution (s). I received a comprehensive, 77 page report filled with descriptions and pictures of major issues found (this house in particular had many issues so 77 pages might be on the longer side).
Overall I am extremely happy I found them and would advocate their services to everyone if given the opportunity.

I met with Frank Lin and his son Daniel last month for an inspection.
It was a last minute call on a Thursday night. They were able to meet quickly and provided a competitive price. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the home a few minutes early and saw both were already there. They certainly valued my time. Throughout the inspection, no stone was left unturned.
Their level of experience and knowledge of homes well surpassed my expectations. Daniel took many pictures along the way, which were included in the report. Frank pointed out a some things that were wrong with the house and offered guidance on how to fix them. Both answered all of my questions and worked very well as a team.
We met for just under 2 hours, and I had the report with photos later that day!
