These cheesesteaks totally hit the spot after drinking in Hoboken! I never trust my brother’s opinion about where I should eat, BUT he proved me wrong with Clem’s. It looks like a dirty hole in the wall, but their cheesesteaks are great. I haven’t tried anything other than the cheesesteak and definitely look forward to trying their«famous cheeseballs» in the future. My only complaint is their prices are definitely«Boardwalk» prices. Most of their items are $ 1 – 2 overpriced in my eyes.

two words: cheese balls wow just wow seaside Tony’s cheesesteak topped with the cheese balls is a meal so unreal that even Ron Smith might consider working here simply to eat them all day.

The food here is pretty good. I have to say it’s not as good as the one down the shore, but it definitely hits the spot when I’m craving some cheese balls. However, the service here is horrible. I tend to come on weekend nights because it’s the most convenient but the staff will treat you like just another drunk slob coming in for food. I always try to be super polite but they are so rude. The bathroom was out of order and my boyfriend had asked if we could use the employee bathroom while we waited for our food to which the cashier replied«it says employee bathroom on the door because it’s for employees, if it were for customers it would say so.» I couldn’t believe my ears!!! A simple no would suffice, however as paying customers it would have been nice for them to let us use it. The cook is constantly talking trash to customers like he hates his job(call me crazy but I notice him doing it more so to the browner skinned people). I love my cheese balls but boy the service keeps me away at times. I wish they just were a bit kinder.

I have never been around such a poorly run establishment. My friend and I stood on line for 20 minutes. When we finally reached the unmanned register, we were told it would be another 30 minutes until our order(which was small and simple) could be completed. There was no organization. One man running the grill and one absentee cashier. What a disappointment. Not like down the shore.

I ordered a grilled chicken salad with extra tomatoes. What was delivered was a pile of iceberg lettuce, chicken and cucumbers. For $ 8! Also my husband’s cheese steak gave him a stomach ache. Avoid this place! So disappointing and just unacceptable.

Went in there around 5:30pm on a Saturday and waited nearly 25 minutes for my cheesesteak. There was one guy working who couldn’t handle the moderate traffic. I don’t understand why I had to wait that long… it’s should take 5 – 10 min at most for a simple order.

Wow are the cheese steaks phenomenal. The California includes lettuce, onions & tomatoes, for an extra taste add mayo and mushrooms as well. The bread holds everything together making every bite as good as the last. The fries($ 4.00) are ok nothing amazing but if your in a mood for a great cheese steak, this place won’t disappoint, not to mention service was very fast, on point and friendly.

Eh, falls short which is sad because of the name built on the Seaside location. Been here a few times now and with each time, the quality declines. My overall assessment: not a good late night spot which is sad given the closeness to the path and the fact that late night is my favorite time to have a cheesesteak. Late night, the place is polluted with the amateur hour crowd of hoboken, the staff is visibly agitated, and the steak is re-heated(gross). Just a REAL trashy atmosphere. Plus, although the pocket bread idea is great, it’s not the freshest tasting– last time i found it real dry. When i’ve been here for lunch or non-busy times, the experience is much better. I don’t see this place lasting long, but as long as they are here, i will be getting my cheese balls on.

Sadness. I have literally been obsessed with Seaside’s Steaks Unlimited since high school days. It is hands down THE best cheese steak I have ever had… will go out of my way when down in south jersey to get one of them. Needless to say, I was so excited when they opened in Hoboken, because they are right across from the path station. Finally visited the other night after a concert in the city… first off, the wait for ONE cheese steak had to’ve been at least 20 minutes. The girl at the counter was 100% Miserable and on her phone in front of our faces the whole time, and the kitchen guys were in a loud argument in front of all the customers. The owner was there, which is always nice to see how present he is… but everything else was so lame. the wait alone was enough to kill the whole experience. but then the bread was semi-stale, the customer service was horrible, there was maybe 2 cheeseballs in our seaside tony, and they didnt use the oregano that makes the Seaside ones so unbelievable amazing!!! Cmon guys, get your act together. this makes me sad :(

I have had several cheese steaks and obviously some were better than others. The uniqueness of Clems is their cheese balls. I will have to be honest I was not too sold on the idea of cheese balls at first but not loving fried foods is almost un-American. Overall, the sandwich was pretty good. The cheese balls added a great crunch, the quality of the cheese is questionable but I am just going to disregard that because this is not a high end place so you are getting what you paid for. The place itself was kind of disgusting, but that might have been due to the fact that I came pretty late and the drunk crowd was already there and probably several other drunk crowds before then. It is a slightly above average cheese steak.

Amazing! Definitely not your average cheesesteak joint. That’s why these guys stand out from the crowd. Their ‘Seaside Tony’ is what they’re known for along with their famous ‘Cheeseballs’. Join the two together and you got a match made in heaven! They’re a little pricey but they definitely feed you here! I’ve never left there feeling hungry or wanting more. The staff is very friendly and professional. I can’t speak for the delivery service they have as I’ve not had the need to use it but they’re usually pretty quick with getting you’re food ready, I would average 4 – 6 minutes.

A far cry from the Steaks Unlimited I’m used to down in Seaside! Aside from the cheese balls(which are still delicious here) there is not much comparable between the two. DTS(down the shore) the bread they use is soft and melts in your mouth, this one, the bread seemed old and tough. They both use the half moon pocket bread, but just two different worlds in terms of the quality of bread. Also, I ordered the Seaside Tony in Hoboken and it seemed like you could count the amount of cheese balls they put in there on one hand. As opposed to the stuff-it-to-the-limit technique they use DTS. Now don’t get me wrong, you’ll probably still find me chomping away at this place after a long night, but it just isn’t quite Steaks Unlmtd in Seaside!

Meh. The cheese steak is just okay. I don’t really like the bread it uses bc it’s a bit hard to eat and falls apart. These cheesesteaks are unique I guess but they are not in the same ballpark as real philly style steaks. You can probably convince me that they deserve 3 stars since Hoboken’s steak game is pretty weak, but I’m not actually convinced. At the 7 – 10 $ price point(w fries), there are better lunch options around these few blocks.

When I think cheese steak, I think Clems Steaks Unlimited in Seaside Heights, NJ. Hands down one of the greatest creations I have yet to taste. So happy they opened another store in Hoboken now I won’t have to drive an hour and a half for my cravings. I discovered this gem after a Unilocal event last night and I promised my friend I would pick her up from the train and I just so happened to find a spot on the street, I looked to my left and saw the sign. I was so excited that all my frustration of driving through Hoboken had disappeared once I saw that sign. When I went inside I noticed the owner and said hello, he actually remembered me from years ago. I ordered my usual cheese steak with onions and cheese and a side of cheese balls. ITWASAMAZING!!! I can’t wait to come back and try out some of the other options.

Just checked out the Wind Mills’ successor and I’ve got two comments. First, I thought the cheesesteak was very good. I got the Big John and it was loaded with meat and cooked very well. The bread was unexpected but a pleasant surprise. It’s basically a really fluffy pita but it keeps things from falling out which is nice. Second, the place could use a makeover. Wind Mill closed a while ago and I thought the time was spent redoing the inside but if anything it was downgraded. The white paint looked dirty and marked up and had yellow paint stains scattered about. The whole interior was a little boring. Not that a steak place needs to be exciting but appearance makes a difference in whether or not I even decide to go in some places so I’m saying this more as a recommendation than to insult.

OUTSTANDING! I had their Hot and Spicy Cheese Steak and the Cheese Balls. The cheese steak was cooked perfectly and the bread was soft and tasty. The best part is they didn’t go cheap on the meat. My sandwich was stuffed to capacity. When you go you MUST try the Cheese Balls! I was skeptical but very happy I ordered them. I would even go back just to get a few orders of cheese balls! If you want to a great app to have during a game or movie night in, I suggest you go with the cheese balls.

Everyone and their mother who has ever lived in NJ spent countless summer days down the shore in Seaside Heights and can remember all the great food. Steaks Unlimited located in Seaside Heights is NJ’s own version of Pat’s and Geno’s Philly cheese steaks. At any given time you can find a line of hungry patrons waiting on line for a cheese steak just off the boardwalk. Lets welcome the brother store to Hoboken! I heard they were opening a second store in February so i had to check it out. First off i would suggest they get an awning or something out front because the place is kind of hard to find. But its located right across the street from Green Rock near the train station. I was so happy to see the menu was the same and they were even wearing the Seaside Heights shirts… Of course i ordered a cheese steak. It was so good. Hands down one of the best cheese steaks you can get besides going to Philadelphia. The workers are very nice, the prices are just as expected, and the quality is just like the original place down the shore. I paid $ 8.50 for a cheese steak and a bottle of water. The owner was completely unaware they were not listed on Unilocal yet, so i figured i would help him out and add the business.
