pretty sweet spot to chill and lax for a few mins… the coffee is awesome and pastries are bomb

I love this place. They have excellent customer service, its conveniently located near Path train. Its ambiance is good… quiet and comfortable. I pick my breakfast pretty much everyday! Their dessert is also awesome.

Nice cozy spot definitely not as packed as Starbucks. If your looking for a nice intimate spot to talk to small this is the spot.

I loved this place. The ambience is nice and the green tea latte I had was excellent. Will come back! I actually found it on Unilocal so I wanted to pass the good word that it’s actually a nice spot to have coffee close to the rail station.

Ok so aside from this place being around the corner from the PATH/Hoboken Terminal and having WiFi and wall outlets to charge electronics, I wouldn’t recommend. The coffee is meh and considering its supposed to be an Asian bakery maybe that’s why. I haven’t tried the sandwiches, pasteries or gelato quite frankly because its too freakin’ HOT! Everytime I have come here, during the day, at night, summer, winter… its like a sauna! I can’t think let alone try to enjoy anything cold or god forbid warm/hot. I mean they have a daily soup special but who could eat it in this sweaty atmosphere. Needless to say this is a last resort to a Starbucks or the other coffee shop across the street. Plenty of other café/coffee options in Hoboken.

It’s a pretty nice Caffebene. I don’t think it has as many options in terms of baked goods compared to other Caffebenes in the city. I came here one day to wait for a friend. I was really hungry, so I decided to pop in and get a pastry and an iced coffee. The place itself is very clean and pretty spacious for Hoboken. I really wish they had more outlets on them. I had my work laptop with me and I couldn’t find an open space with an outlet near by and it wasn’t by any means busy or full when I went. Iced coffee was very good. The curry puff was pretty good as well, I just wish it was a little bit warmer. Overall, a nice coffee place in Hoboken. I’ll certainly be back again for another coffee with some good company. *More photos on my IG @jerseycityfoodie.

First impressions — this store reminds me of one of those Korean bread stores in K-town. There is also a bread/sweets station in the middle of the store with a decent variety of both sweet and savory. There are ample seating around the store, good for bloggers, informal meetings, chit-chatting, and Unilocal reviewing. =) I ordered a Thai Ice Tea with tapioca(bubbles). The drink was made swiftly and transaction was hassle free. The tea was way over-priced though at more than $ 5 and the tapioca tasted old. For your bubble tea needs, I recommend the Big Straw in JC. Bottom line: Good alternative to Starbucks, but stay away from mediocre bubble tea.

This place stands out from the many different cafes and coffee shops in Hoboken. They have the most amazing-looking waffles and French toast that are way larger than a «normal» size Texas toast. You walk in and you’re greeted with a counter full of pastries! And, they are not just ANY pastries. They have pastries that might be a little strange for some of the regular coffee and pastry palates out there — I just had a Green Tea with Cheese danish. They also have something that looks like a croissant roll with a hotdog in it(but a cheesy kind)! I also had this out of the ordinary(for this area at least) latte called Misugaru Latte. It was good hot. It has black sesame seed paste and soy milk. Something a little different and a taste to acquire. I would definitely come back. Especially in the winter. There’s something about the Misugaru that is quite soothing and comforting.

Came in for my afternoon coffee break and it was a really nice shop. The latte did take about 10 minutes to make and no one else was in the line which is why I’m not giving it the 5th star. It does seem like a great place to catch up with friends or with work.

It was my first time being here with my significant other and I must say, this place is great. As soon as we walk in, we stumble across a homeless person and the owner(I believe it was the owner) gave her free food to brighten her day. He then came toward us and recommended a few beverages. Their customer service was fantastic. You will never go wrong with this place because it has everything you could possibly want and need. The employees were really accomodating. Order the Honeydew and Thai Tea Bubble Tea Smoothie Latte and the Strawberry Cheese Honey Bread when you come! Overall, this was a great experience and for sure, there will be plenty more.

Yesterday I came here and ordered the mocha frapp — it was great. Today I came back and ordered the coffee Frapp — wow — amazing So far so good. The food looks delish. Can’t wait to try it.

Caffebene is starting to win me over as my coffee chain of choice, especially when compared to the nearest Starbucks. Caffebene is offering more seats, a bigger selection of food and snacks(clearly more appetizing and diverse as well), and honestly a better cup of Joe if you go for regular coffee like I do. Also worth noting is that the staff at this location is super nice and the place is kept sparkling clean. And I actually heard a few people conversing in this coffee shop, shocking! There is a small selection of books if you don’t have reading material and are not planning on being immersed in technology. My one issue, and it’s a Caffebene issue in general, is that the unfinished wood furniture looks great but the seats must be about a foot off of the ground. Not totally uncomfortable but a little weird. Commuters note: one block to PATH.

Very cute asian fusion café! Could not be more conveniently located by the PATH&NJ transit. Very large size to fit groups. Also great for studying as many people were doing when I got there. Very cute décor with lights and ivy and the tables are a good size perfect to spread out work. The prices are pretty good, closer to Starbucks like someone mentioned in the reviews. The man who worked behind the counter that night was very friendly and welcoming. I bought a green tea iced latte which was really good and not too sweet. There are many options here. The ice cream looks really good and a lot of desserts are well present behind glass. It just annoyed me how they kept out lots of pricey sandwiches out on a table that looked like it was sitting out all day, but maybe I am too much of a germaphobe.

Caffebene. If only you were in the DMV. I would make frequent trips here. But maybe it’s for the best when it comes to my wallet. My friend took us to Caffebene during our recent trip to Hoboken/NYC. She explained that Caffebene is a chain but that they have hot boba tea. Hot boba tea? I didn’t even know that was a thing. Caffeebene is a Korean bakery with Korean pastries as well as other food items. But on this trip, I was intrigued with the hot boba tea. I decided to get the taro hot boba tea. On a cold winter’s day, tea seemed like a great idea. Our tea with boba came relatively quickly. It’s interesting drinking hot tea and boba. I definitely recommend a straw so you can reach the boba. Taro was surprisingly much sweeter than I anticipated. I’ve had taro flavored things before but I was surprised by its’ sweetness. Overall, it was a delicious cup of tea to drink. It got me all warm and cozy for our train ride into NYC. Service was good and prices is about average for boba tea. Cute place and I definitely would come back.

This is my go-to place when I need to get out of the home office and still be productive. There is a good amount of seating and free, reliable, low-hassle wifi(they recently changed the network name, so you may need to reconnect if you’ve been before). It doesn’t get TOO noisy generally; like all such places, that depends a lot on the patrons and can vary when big groups come in. They have good drinks and snacks, though both can be on the more expensive side. They also offer food and drink you don’t find at most coffee & tea shops, like the Misugaru frappé, which is a healthier version made with black beans, brown rice and other nutritious stuff; it has a different texture and taste, but I like it. They also serve waffles, «honey bread»(looks like a really thick piece of french toast… I’ve never tried one), gelato and giant bowls of… stuff, that I haven’t quite figured out yet; I’m always there alone and those things look big enough for 2 – 4 people. The waffles sadly aren’t made to order; they’re premade and can be re-heated by request(they usually offer). The big table in the center features a variety of pastries, so be sure to check those out before you order. Check out their seasonal menus. Currently their winter drinks look good, and I just tried a «Chrismallow latte» which was like red velvet with marshmallow. It was delicious!

Their coffee is better than Starbucks. Their food especially their breakfast and lunch sandwiches are WAY better than Jimmy Johns and Starbucks, BUT it takes longer since they toast the bread, heat the meat, veggies are fresh and crisp, etc. 4.5 stars. Asian pastries are to die for. So good. Nothing comes close in Hoboken. 5 stars. Price wise its reasonable. Coffee wise I like Bean Vauly the best around this part of town.

I read an article in a business journal about caffebene taking on the US market and the panera/Starbucks/cosi/dd fast casual dining/coffee powerhouses and was curious. Full disclosure: I don’t drink coffee. Came in hungry with a capital H. Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, Korean BBQ chicken with spinach, spicy mustard, and mozzarella cheese. It took 15 minutes for my sandwich to come out. They clearly made it fresh for me. The first bite contained 2 surprises. It was way messier to eat than it appeared. And the bread, which looked dense, was actually light, airy, buttery, delicious. The first bite or two I was unsure. The spice and flavor seemed lacking. But it sneaks up. Really tasty. Not a ton of chicken, and not super filling. Good nonetheless. What I liked here was the vibe. It did not fall victim to some cardinal coffee shop sins. Not too dark to make you sleepy. The seating was soft but not so comfortable that you will linger all day. It was neither cluttered and hipstery nor sparse and antiseptic. It was like living inside the perfect page of a west elm catalog. One gripe. This goes for every coffee shop, bar, restaurant. Please stop with the smooth jazz. It’s awful. Adults can handle real jazz. Kinda Blue, A Love Supreme, everybody loves Take Five. Go there. Or how about classical? Rachmaninov. Chopin. Just, whatever you do, for the love of whoever your god is, no more Kenny G! The ice parfaits look intriguing. I will be back for one.

This is a great coffee shop in Hoboken right by the train station. I was looking for a place to get some work done and found this place through Unilocal. They have plenty of good seating, which is always very important to me. Seems like there are several tables near outlets, too! The free WiFi was fast and reliable during the several hours I was there working. I had a cappuccino and a chocolate cookie, both were good. They have a big pastry selection in the center, all individually wrapped so I am not sure how fresh it is but it all looked delicious. They also have a variety of other dessert offerings too but the waffles and cakes seemed too expensive to me. I will definitely be back here to try more of their creative drink offerings!

This is the second Caffebene café I’ve been to. Compared to the one in Koreatown, it is smaller but retained the same ambience. We spent 2 – 3 hours reading for leisure and chatting. During this time, we ordered sandwiches, latte, bubble tea, and ice parfait. I had not been so compelled at other chains, say Panera or Starbucks. We figured out the most pleasant way to eat the ice parfait– dig a trough so you can mix the layers.
