Perfect greasy spoon… classic Hoboken. Mussels, clams, calamari, sauce… yum yum and yum! And drink up.

Good food, I had the chicken even though it was as seafood place. Good portions, didn’t have that seafood scent on my chicken which is almost unheard of. Waitress always checking up on us, drinks were always flowing, price was more than fair for the area. Good job all the way around.

One of the worst restaurants I have been to in Hoboken thus far. I ordered fried calamari, a cheesesteak and the seafood bisque soup. I was kind of skeptical about the food because everything was so cheap. Upon receiving my food its quite clear why. The steak was already pre-packaged. It was had a really chewy and rubbery texture. The crispy part of the calamari was soggy and falling off. The dip was awful! The seafood bisque was the worst of the three. It was not fresh and without a doubt canned. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality.

Love biggies, I always get fried calamari and half dozen clams. Always nice and delicious. Other menu items are good and cheap. Gary is the man

We had a long day and were a little Hungry looking to have a little snack. We decided on biggies. We ordered the tuna tacos, mussels And chicken tenders. What an assortment, I know. The delivery came pretty quickly thankfully because we were fading and fast. But unfortunately the only thing really passable Were the chicken fingers, which we devoured! They were well cooked, flavorful and I liked the dipping sauce. The mussels were grainy, under seasoned and the sauce wasn’t anything I would ever eat again. It was just like watered down tomato sauce that they cooked it in. We each tried one they tossed it and my boyfriend HATES wasting food. That is how bad it was. The tuna tacos were flavorless and needed to have some kind of crunchy texture. It was so under seasoned as well. The delivery was prompt, and the food was the right temperature. We won’t be ordering again.

The Original Biggies … Clams are a must. When I come here usually meet my buddies on a Wednesday Night. The Garlic Cheesesteak sand is my favorite. The original BIGGIES is the best

Thank you Biggies for once again doing an amazing job catering for our event! AJ is wonderful to deal with planning and always available to help with suggestions on menu selection and quantity. Your team is always up for the challenge of our locations(currently a construction site with lots of moving parts) and they always show up with smiles and lots of laughter, ready to feed out hungry crew! When it comes to the food, everything we have ever ordered has been delicious and piping hot! And we have tried the entire menu and then some! I have been consistently amazed that the team can keep up with the appetites of over 100 hungry construction workers and never tire out! Thank you just isn’t enough for the amazing job you guys do!

Expected soooooo much more. The food was alright but I guess I fell for the hype. Nice décor and service was fine. The location is great. The Chicken Marsala wasn’t very flavorful. The Seafood Fiesta was skimpy. Wasn’t much of a fiesta; more like a siesta. Ha! Maybe it was an off night. Will try again. Have Fun

This place is great during football season. They offer beer towers and a variety of other beers on tap. For those who don’t like beer, they have a $ 5 martini special all day everyday too. Most of the dishes are good. You’ll find typical bar appetizers here. The spinach artichoke dip is extra creamy and delicious. The sandwiches are hit or miss. I wouldn’t recommend the Philly cheese steak or ceaser salad because you can easily get much better ones elsewhere. The white cap and clam po boys are pretty good though. The clams are big, fresh and fried golden brown and crispy. I wish they put more into the sandwich because there is a lot of bread. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is great and staff is friendly so it’s a fun time with a big group of people.

The good: Great service, the gentleman at the front is extremely nice and easy going. Offered us food on the house due to their error and apologized multiple times. Great atmosphere, quaint, a few TVs for some sports watching. Very local feel. The OK: Fried whole clam bellies were good, though, they came with marinara that was gelatinized… gross. We were able to pick it out of the plastic condiment container in one piece, and it stayed together on the fork… yum…sauce probably shouldn’t do that. Fries were also better than average(we did not have the waffles fries) GF enjoyed the raw clams, though she was disappointed they don’t have oysters at the madison location… Crab cakes were OK but what can you expect for $ 3.25… The bad: Cheese steak was over cooked, very tough beef and bland. Food is very ‘heavy’, though, that is also a function of what we ordered, take it with a grain of salt.

In my top 3 restaurant in Hoboken. The clams are super fresh, the rest of the food(try the seafood combo!) is always tasty, hearty and very well priced. I love these kind of restaurants where you do not have all this frills but only good food, simple but pleasant service and this authentic atmosphere. Good job guys, keep it this way!

I recently moved to New York from California, but am temporarily working in Hoboken. Biggie’s is literally just down the block from my job and I pass by it every day, so naturally it caught my attention. I just came back from lunch there, and the experience was so pleasant I had to write about it right away. First of all, let me say that Hoboken is everything I imagined it to be from watching shows like The Sopranos — and I mean that in a good way. Everyone knows everyone in my boss’s neighborhood, and mom and pop shops are plentiful. Once me and my co-worker walked in, we were greeted with a friendly welcome by who I eventually came to know was the owner(he had a cartoon sign of him in the store!). We ordered the clam chowder, baked clams, and 2 beers. I don’t even like NY style clam chowder, but this was delicious! It tasted more like minesetrone soup(which I love), with a good amount of clam meat, but just a nice subtle hint of clam flavor. However, the baked clams stole the show. I’m not the biggest clam fan either(oysters and mussels please!) but I may have to change my mind after this. Bread crumbs, cheese, and butter oh my! Although the food was good, the customer service is what will keep me coming back. Before we left, the owner whose name I will make sure to get next time, stopped us and asked how everything was. In addition to what brought us there, and what we did for a living. Not in a nosy, prying way, but in a beloved uncle you haven’t seen in months type of way. Needless to say, I’ll be back here soon, and will know everyone’s names soon enough!

Stopped at Biggie’s Madison Street; they replaced hurricane damaged equipment, rose up, and they are back open. If you love comfort food, time to love this local business.

This place has been around in Hoboken since long branch was a twig. We live around the corner so we’re regulars. It usually goes down like this«babe, you wanna cook… not a chance… biggies…without a doubt.» This place is old school, and old school born and raised Hobokenites go there. It’s small and divey but excellent. It’s great comfort food and even better prices. The garlic mutz cheesesteak, white cap roast beef, chicken bruschetta and Italian hot dog are all musts. I don’t eat seafood so ironically enough I have no idea how good the clams are at a clam bar. Love their waffle fries and cheese fries. Most of their sandwiches come with their onions and peppers, which you do not want to go without they are epic! They are quick, easy and cheap. I love it here. They have a couple tables outside but a lot more inside. Quick tip, order up at the counter then go sit, they’ll bring it to you. Go back up to said counter to pay, I’ve seen more than one new comer sit and wait for a check to be brought over. I’ve said this about other places, don’t come here looking for gourmet fusion food with a side salad and crème fraîche. Come here for burgers, clams, fries and other fantastic REAL comfort food.

I have eaten here about 3 – 4 times and I actually can’t comment on the seafood here(I know, weird — I don’t really eat seafood) — the rest of the food is all right. I think the non-seafood items could stand to use more flavor/salt. I got the mozzarrella cheesesteak here and it tasted pretty bland. I’ve gotten one of the pasta dishes here before(I think penne vodka? it’s been awhile) — I definitely don’t remember this being out of this world or anything. Pepsi products, no Coca-Cola(darn) This place has a divey/speakeasy sort of feel. Décor is sparse and you have those long benches with those picnic-y chairs. This place is definitely not some place you’d take someone for a date, but a good place for some friends and some beer during the day!

Goodbye Clam Broth House — Hello Biggie’s. I’m not that surprised that Clam Broth finally went belly up; my girlfriend’s office is down the street so we used to come here at the end of any given workday while I was in town to have a drink or 8 with her and her boss. It was never really crowded — despite being large, inviting, and very close to the PATH. Went to Biggie’s last night and I honestly didn’t notice the change until I saw 20 TVs on the wall and that the big red neon had different wording on it. The interior is largely the same — and given its only been open a little while, I can’t say I expected a major overhaul. Drink selection — great. There are a lot more beers on tap. I had the chance to try the Ithaca Apricot Wheat and it was absolutely delicious. They also have all the standards, as well as two, yes TWO, varieties of Leinenkugel on tap. Unheard of. I was there from 5:30 to just before 9pm with a group of 12 or so. We had our own corner of the bar, and despite the presence of three bartenders, we still had to jump up and down to get their attention for refills. TV? Yes — sports… all over. Huge improvement from before. Food was… well we didn’t have any seafood so I can’t really be terribly negative. We had a few apps — just a cheese pizza and the spinach artichoke dip. Pizza was eh, I mean Balbo’s is 23 steps away and their grandma pie is out of this world, so it hardly seems necessary to order pizza here. The dip was much more cheese than it was spinach or artichokes, but I was so hungry after 3 Ithacas and no dinner that I really didn’t care. It came with chips from a bag, and these particular chips came from the bottom. Kinda hard to dip with a crumb… I will be back for more drinks, and some seafood(which seemed to be the most popular thing coming out of the kitchen over the hours I was there). It’s a great location, so I hope the buzz gets out there that CBH is gone and Biggie’s is here — hopefully to stay. If for no other reason, go there for the Ithaca Apricot Wheat and try to tell me it’s not amazing.

The reason you get the garlic cheese steak or chicken sandwich from Biggies is because its top notch deliciousness. The bread they use is primo stuff. Clearly they know where to get the best bread in town from.(cough cough Dom’s) The steak is legit, no flaky dried out meat here. The cheese is served warm on the hero and it melts in your mouth. As an Italian I approve of their mozzarella. BOOM! They just got my badge of satisfaction. Try it for yourself next time your downtown or remember them next time your gonna order in.
