Growing up in India, home cooked meals were integral part of my childhood. As my love for the art of cooking grew, I began to learn recipes from my mom, aunts, and mum-​in-​law. Having shared those recipes with my students in India, I would love to further spread and share the authentic recipes from India. With much pleasure I open my kitchen to you to teach one the most celebrated recipes from India, the way I learned — with personal attention of private lessons!

So, I’m only used to eating Indian food at restaurants. But, I guess I was feeling experimental, because I signed up for this class. I took the single class deal and, since it was possible to learn to make what I wanted, I asked if we could make paneer, because, man, I had a craving. There was some frying involved, but it was okay, because the ingredients were healthy. I like how the instructor gave me the Hindi name and pronunciations of the ingredients we used. It was like getting two laid-​back lessons in one! She was really friendly and patient, and that made it fun. And, of course, getting to eat the food! Restaurant food is good, but nothing beats home-​cooked food. I’m glad I had the lesson. (And, a container to take some of that paneer home with me, ha, ha!)
