Lapels Dry Cleaning

Apparently the creep who was working yesterday forgot that there is a perfectly great dry cleaner across the street. As this condescending jerk was running my card, I got a text from my caregiver about my kids. I started to respond and saw out of the corner of my eye that he was preparing to give me my receipt to sign. I started to set my phone down and he said «oh, I’m sorry» and I said, «no, no! It’s fine!» When I looked up, he was rolling his eyes and shaking his head and he said «are you kidding me??» After I explained to him that it was my damn phone and none of his business, he tried to back track a bit, but I’ll be hitting up Kings from now on. Worth the slightly longer drive to experience their excellent customer service.

Can’t say enough GOOD things about the OUTSTANDING SERVICE I received from the entire team at Lapels Dry Cleaners in Hingham, MA. (I will do my best to be brief.) My daughter’s wedding was just 2 weeks away when I finally finished making the alterations to her gown that the tailor in Plymouth could not do. (No, I did not use
to find the tailor. BIG mistake!) Upon Googling «wedding gown cleaning» I learned that gowns are typically shipped off premises (to New York) for cleaning. There was no time for that! At the recommendation of a friend, I took the gown to Lapels in Hingham. From the moment I walked through the door the gown and I were treated as VIPs — Very Important Person/​Project. Hillary greeted me, then asked the owner, Ben, to consult with me. Ben, in turn, summoned Jefferson from the back work area. Although the cleaning label on this Maggie Sottero gown instructed «Dry Clean Only,» Jefferson recommended wet cleaning. (It was very soiled from serving as a bridal shop floor sample and from being inside the tailor’s workshop.) With the bride’s consent, her gown was left in Jefferson’s care. The wedding gown washed up BEAUTIFULLY and with plenty of time to spare! What a tremendous relief to find the COMPETENT staff of Lapels of Hingham.
