Was just there… twice. First time I waited around for about ten minutes. The staff associates (2 people) were busy with 2 other customers. I was told by one associate that someone would be with me shortly. That was fine.
After a few more minutes of waiting, I decided it would be best to browse some other stores and come back.
But after returning to the store about 10 to 15 minutes later, I never even got acknowledged by the staff associate (now down to just one person).
I just wanted to buy a $ 250 gift card for my wife’s birthday. My wife is an avid marathon runner and a member of a Boston running team.
After not even being acknowledged on my 2^nd attempt, I gave up and left.
They either need more staff, better customer service skills or both.
Sale lost. Their loss, really.

I went here JUly 2012 to purchase new shoes/​get a running eval after I was having a lot of pain from running/​training for my half marathon. The running eval was really awesome and it helped me see why my ankles were killing me so much (i pronate. A LOT). The videos were helpful to see with the different shoes on and ultimately lead me to purchase the pair of shoes I currently have. I unfortunately require maximum support shoes, and the only Saucony’s they had were kind ugly and chunky looking but all in all they’ve worked wonders for me. I’ve had them since July, I’ve ran my half marathon, a few 5ks and currently training for another half and I have not had any more ankle pain from there and I have about 150 miles on them. THe staff is very friendly. The shoes i felt not a huge variety but then again I’m not sure what the shoe company/​styles of shoes provide for colors/​etc. All in all I plan on buying my next pair of shoes from them!

Being ‘new’ to the workout scene, approximatly 6 months ago, I purchased a pair of Nike Mens Pegasus Trail 27 shoes in size 11.5. Within a couple of months my left shoe was squeeking most of the time when I walked. When I finally was able to get back to the Hingham MA store where I purchased these, I showed the clerk who commented he had never seen that before. All of my friends are kidding me at the gym saying the shoes must be from an oulet store! The clerkin Hingham, suggested I send them back to Nike. I went on their website, followed the directions and spent another $ 11 to send back my 6 month old shoes. Within 1 week, I received my shoes back and a reply that «the product is beyond the two year date of manufacture, and can not be considered for inspection. Upon following their instructions for determining the date of manufacture on the tag in the shoe, I discovered my six month old $ 95 full price shoes were actaully from 5÷14÷2010! Over 2 years ago. These were old shoes, that after shelling out $ 106 ($ 95 plus $ 11 shipping to Nike) I am STUCK with. Should have purchased them at Nordstroms!

I have been to many running stores over years. I travel a great deal for business and get to see the best and the worst of things. This was far and away one of the best experiences I have ever had. Initially, I went in just to kill some time. I ended up staying for a hour talking with the staff about how to improve in my next triathlon.
They were genuinely interested in helping me out, not just trying to sell me stuff. I took away a lot of tips and tricks to help me out.
I would definitely recommend this store to everyone whether they need running, walking, or workout shoes.

What separates the Greater Boston Running Company is the service. I have taken up running and went here to find a proper running shoe and heard it’s best to get fitted The person I dealt with took about 45 minutes with me to ensure I got the best running shoe for me. Not the most expensive or the easiest to find but the best shoe for me.
They watch you run, walk and make recommendations. If you need running shoes go to this place. I am sure you could get the shoes cheaper online or at Sports Authority but you would lack the confidence of getting their expert opinions.

We are really ‘blessed’ to live in a very active area; the South Shore. We have a great selection of athletic stores from the big chains to smaller independent running shops. The Greater Boston Running Company falls into the independent shop category along side of Marathon Sports and Bayside Runner.
The glaring difference here is customer service. You wont get warm CS at this store. This is not after one experience my wife and I have stopped in for various reasons throughout the past couple years and the environment is always un-​friendly.
The prices seem average and you will notice a much higher ratio of Nike products here than you will at most other shops.
My opinion; take the extra time and drive down to Bayside in Plymouth. Full videotaped gait analysis and real experienced CS.

I went to Greater Boston Running Company after receiving a 15% off coupon from a race I ran. Two guys immediately helped me find what I was looking for, and I felt very comfortable with their advice because they really knew what they were talking about. I tried on a few pairs, and ended up purchasing a pair that I normally wouldn’t have picked up. I wore them yesterday for the first time and it felt great!

Great service here! I went in about 3 weeks before a road race because I knew the sneakers I had were not doing me any favors. I frequently suffer from shin splints and get the occasional sore knees so I explained this to man helping me as he observed me walk. He did not have me run but informed me that based on how I walked he could fit me with the appropriate running sneaker. I was provided a selection of 5 pairs but the first pair I tried on felt so comfortable when I walked and jogged around the store that I didn’t even bother with the rest! I always enjoy a new running sneaker but I honestly have felt a difference with these sneakers so if you are in the market for a new pair — I highly recommend this place to hook you up with the pair that’s right for you.
