History

Established in 2010.

After working for large computer consulting firms for 15 years, Greg went on his own to service Residential and Small Business clients. He saw a huge need for high quality support in an area that big consulting firms tend to ignore. His experience in all types of technology gives him the ability to craft solutions that work instead of pushing products for profit.

Business Owner

Greg started his career as an Invetebrate Paleontologist, and spent 15 years digging Rocks, Minerals and Fossils all over the United States. In 1997 he pretty much fell into computers and with Y2K looming easily got a job as an AS/​400 programmer at a local computer consulting firm.

Consulting took him from Rochester, to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and back to Rochester in 2007 when he was hired by a Buffalo consulting firm to open a branch office in Rochester. The economy tanked, and that company closed all their satellite offices leaving Greg to fend for his own.

Instead of looking for yet another company to work for, Greg went out on his own in 2010. After a really rocky first year, things started to smooth out and Greg now has two distinct sides to his business.

Gartland Tech is a retail business that has a shop at 53 South Avenue in Hilton, NY. He services residential computers, networks and technology.
