Preston Myers, the owner of safari Helicopters has experience in aviation that spans more than 40 years. Preston moved to Hawaii in 1987 and brought with him his love of Aviation and helicopters, and so Safari was born. Since then he has expanded the company’s flight seeing operation to the big island in Hilo, and charter operations with a King Air C90 out of Oahu.

Business Owner
Preston Myers, the owner of safari Helicopters has experience in aviation that spans more than 40 years, starting with a college degree in aviation and followed by service as a US Naval Aviator during the Vietnam conflict. Preston later returned to south East Asia as a civilian and flew for many years with the now famous «Air America». He has flown in places such as Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and South Vietnam. Prior to the fall of Saigon Preston moved to Singapore and flew with various companies that provided helicopter support for oil exploration projects in Borneo, Sumatra, Celebes, Iran Jaya (Dutch New Guinea) and the Andaman Islands of India. He retired from the US Naval reserves as a commander in 1992 but before he did, Preston moved to Hawaii in 1987 and brought with him his love of Aviation and helicopters, and so Safari was born. Since then he has expanded the company’s flight seeing operation to the big island in Hilo, and charter operations with a King Air C90 out of Oahu.
