Great stop for souvenirs. I come to Hilo all the time to visit relatives and I usually struggle to not bring the same omiyage back for friends, but I stumbled upon this gem! You’ll know that the stuff is handmade when you get something from here. The owner Sharon is really sweet and will help you find something unique. She helped my brother put together some custom necklaces for gifts for his friends and they’re definitely cooler and more affordable than the stuff in the tourist shops. I picked up some adorable sushi and nigiri beads for gifts as well. Seems sustainable as many beads are polished sea glass, clay, wood, and any ivory is cow bone. Didn’t see any coral or dried sea critters! Yay! Don’t get your friend another Hawaii keychain… Please. Just come here for something completely one-of-a-kind and support one of the few remaining independent craft stores around the town that hasn’t been swallowed up by Walmart.
