Pretty good Bbq. Bbq sauce is the best. Chicken wings are delicious and crispy. Although the bread they put in the meals is horrible and of low quality the food is overall good.

Just tried to call in and they picked up and asked me what I want to order? I said a sports bucket and she said what size small or large? I asked for a price on the large and she said hold on and hung up on me. Great customer service. And if you go in you will wait forever.

I actually called in my and was told I could come now. My order was not Hot and when I questioned the staff, a gentleman by the name of John stated he just cut them. While in my car I ate a rib tip and frie which were both room temperature. When i called back he told me the exact same thing. Which could not have been true since there wasn’t any smoke coming from my order. I advised him to have a nice day and i would no longer dine at this establishment. It seems this is the line that is used all the time, when customers comfort them about the temperature of their order. Once home I noticed that the rib tips were overcooked and a very small quantity for the price. I guess I will have to drive to COLEMANS for better food and customer service. I wish there was an option for ZEROSTARS.

My family and I visited this place on a Sunday morning just before they opened at 12 in the afternoon. We sat outside with one of the workers who was smoking a cigarette and told us he will put in our order early so we can pay and have our food as the doors open. We did just that and when the store opened we sat in our car looking at people place orders and leave. My husband is the nice one, he went inside and waited patiently. I was steamed up waiting in the car for over an hour. After 1 hour of waiting on food that we’ve already ordered and paid for, I went in the store and demanded a refund. The ghetto cashier told me your food is coming up. I spoke very loudly and told her we’ve been patiently waiting for over an hour. She yelled at the cook to hurry up and give her the damn food so she can leave. When I left I told my husband we will never patronize this business. I told him we should have asked for the owner. He stated the old lady standing on the side was the owner… my whole face dropped. I love to support my people and their businesses but, this is one that I would rather see closed down. I wish I didn’t have to even give one star!

The only reason I continue to order food from Joe’s is, once again my mother likes the bbq. This place is horrible. The dude working the counter is extremely rude & unfriendly-no type of customer service skills whatsoever. This place is unreasonably overpriced, especially since the employees have zero customer service etiquette. Whenever my mother asks me to stop at Joe’s for her, I cringe. #blackconsciousness

Good old faithful!!! I can always get a good fix from here. I ordered the combo link & tip w/mild sauce. It was good & fresh off the grill. It was quick service tonight even though they had a nice crowd for a Tuesday. I’ll always patronize Joe’s.

The Joe’s BBQ in hillside is more slowing than the on Madison street, I called in a order of turkey tips and wings and the lady told me o. k be ready in 20 minutes I get there half an hour later, and she said I’m sorry we ran out I tried to call you back. Then I said o. k is the wings ready then she said yeah but then ending up spending another 10 minutes in there. There prices are high and the food is not that good like they use to be. They not going to get my money any more, they have attitudes to like they don’t want to cook your food

I was looking for some rib tips while in Elmhurst and Joe’s came up. What a pleasant surprise. I can’t get enough of their rib tips. I keep coming back for more. Their butter cookies are good also.

First time getting food from this place and it’s awesome. The ordering process is a little confusing as there are posters of menu items plastered all over the walls in all directions. I saw a few buckets of different sizes on the counter and decided to get a medium bucket of rib tips. The cost was around ~$ 23. The workers were very friendly to me. While I was waiting for my food they gave me a box of homemade butter cookies for free and told me it’s very good… well, it was OMGDELICIOUS! If you ever go there make sure you get a box of their butter cookies. I’m Asian and one of my favorite foods is cha siu, maybe that’s why I also enjoy American BBQ so much. Of all the BBQ places I tried around the Chicago area(Smoque, Uncle John’s, Wrigley, among others,) this one tastes the most like Chinese cha siu if you ask them to put the sauce on the side. I thought the rib tips were very delicious. The bucket also came with 2 pieces of bread and plenty of french fries, those were pretty standard. $ 23 is not cheap for a bucket of rib tips… until you see how much they give you. I’m known for having a crazy appetite, and many friends have suggested that I give competitive eating a try. Well, I couldn’t even finish half the bucket. This medium-sized bucket is enough to feed a family of 4. Now I have a huge bowl of rib tips in my fridge for tomorrow. Excellent!

I have only ordered chicken legs from them, as in catering for parties, so I can only rate based upon the multiple times I have done that. The legs are HUGE. I mean REALLY big, and also delicious. They are always the first thing gone at every party we have. And they are inexpensive, too, which is why they are a staple at our parties. The place is always crowded when I go pick them up, so they must be doing something right. I have a friend who swears by their rib tips, and I DO love their sauce, but it is the vinegar-y red kind that is traditional with African American-style BBQ. Since our order is big and time-consuming, I always pre-order and just run in to pick up, so I don’t have the wait time that anyone just walking in would have. So I can’t speak to wait time. They have never been anything but nice to me, and my phone orders are always quick and to the point, so I can’t complain about customer service either. And I will continue to order their awesome chicken legs for every party we throw! lol

OK, I have eaten here several times. I always get rib tips. The first times were good, the ribs were meaty and had a good taste. But that was like a year ago. The last two(and verylast) times I ate there were horrible. The ribs were tough, they gave me all hard pieces. There was a terrible stinky smell at the front counter which i could only decern as either rotting pork or garbage. The workers are not friendly at all. The cake was so dry and crumbly that we didn’t finish it. And God forbid if you order anything other than ribs or chicken, you will wait at least 45 minutes.

I had the turkey tips and turkey links. I cant comment on the price vs portion because my husband picked them up for me as a surprise. I was complaining about there not being a BBQ place in the west suburbs and he found this place. The turkey tips were very meaty, the links were kind of dry. This may be because they were turkey and I was expecting them to taste like the links of the pork variety. The tips were good and so meaty that I wish I had more sauce to go with them. So, if getting the tips, ask for extra sauce. This is not the type of place where I just have to have it. However, if I ‘m in the mood for a quick meal or BBQ, this is where I will be going, mostly because i have few other choices closer by.

I stopped by this place because it was nearby. There was only one person ahead of me in line but it seemed I had to wait forever in this very smoky place just to get some hot dogs. And I saw at least 3 employees working there. When I got home the hot dogs were overcooked to the point of being dried out and hard. I wouldn’t eat here again.

It’s a winner. Great little shack with phenomenal food and a knockout BBQ sauce(at a magnificent price). Maybe not a «go out of your way» place for lunch/snack but definitely stop in if you are anywhere near Wolf & Butterfield. I will be back and recommend it to friends and neighbours!
