Found these guys from a mailer that was sent to the house and had heard good things. When our AC stopped working, I figured I’d reach out and have them check our system. After realizing that a new system was a better path than trying to fix and old one, I gave them the green light. I have to say, they did excellent and neat work. They laid down a floor mat to protect our wood floors, walked me through every step. Then explained what needs to be done after.

Poor service and even more poorly trained plumber. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone unless you absolutely know what the problem is yourself.

I consider myself a DIY’er, so I replaced my leaking shower valve cartridge, which was so EASY to do with the help of youtube. What I didnt do was move it totally to the off position before I put the hardware back on. Stupid is as stupid does. :) When I turned the water back on, it still flowed, similar to the faulty valve cartridge. I turned the handle and slowed it down, but didnt stop because (I didn’t know…) that I simply had valve in slightly wrong position under hardware. Thought it was something else wrong at this point and since I had alot going on this day and couldnt have water running all day, I looked up plumbers in town and found MTP. I explained my problem and they detailed $ 89 to come out. I was told the plumber will provide total cost before he gets started. He arrived prompty and was professional. Understanding I had replaced the faulty part already, he clearly saw the minor detail (it’s all in the details) that I missed, and made slight adjustment turning the valve to the off position. I already had the hardware totally off, so it wasnt even the slight labor to remove it. Done in 12 minutes. Ouch. felt stupid… and charged the $ 89. I thought it’s cost of lesson learned… and a story for friends. Honestly I was a bit surprised to find (…and a minor fact… was not told prior to service… as I was told I would be…) a $ 59 «valve service» charge. It is what it is, but it would have bonding to have the $ 89 charge (reflecting cost of my stupidity). The tack on of a $ 59 valve service for turning off the new valve that I installed, before placing the hardware back on… was a bit «cold». We’re talkin’ business, but I would just say MTP may consider good faith allowances, as they would result in referrals that more than make up for them (just a business model). They addressed the issue in 12 minutes ($ 158). Expensive «twist» of an already installed valve. The 4 stars are for arriving same day and being professional. Would I refer a friend? Maaybe… but I would WARN them… and you… no breaks.

I’ve known Mike and his crew since they first started out and honestly wouldn’t dream of having any one else touch my home pipes! They have installed new outside spigots for me, run new gas lines, moved old pipes to accommodate the remodel of cabinets. A few years ago I had major surgery, and could not get under a sick to handle a simple leak repair, they came out instantly and took care of it for me within hours and didn’t charge me an arm and leg for it either!
As a former District Manager for a large property management firm, I can tell you I had their number on speed dial because I could always count on their work to be top notch for all my residents!
Yes, they can be a bit pricey — but you get your money’s worth honestly. They always seem to to have the right part on the truck, and if they don’t, they’ll be sure to get it faster than you can imagine. The showroom is friendly and sunny to give you lots of remodel ideas too — it’s a dangerous place for me! lol

Called more than a week ahead of time to schedule a survey at my house. The morning of the survey the driver calls to tell me he will be late. 20 minutes later he says he is sick and can’t make it but the office will call to re-​schedule. They never called me. Next!

I’m not recommending for or against, this is simply my experience.
* Mike came to give me a quote on a new boiler, he was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable
* I got 2 quotes, selected one, then found out that it was incorrect and would actually be $ 2k more
* They installed a tankless water heater/​gas boiler and removed the old boiler and water heater in 1 day. Very quick and efficient.
* Found they had put 2 zones when I had requested only 1 as the extra was too expensive… sorted a payment plan to cover the second zone.
* Needed a new gas line under the house to get a permit, did it in an afternoon. Later found that the gas meter had been turned around so it couldn’t be read… mtp said it wasn’t them, I can’t confirm so can only assume it turned itself around. Had to pay pseg over $ 300 to fix the problem.
* After annual service advised pseg needed to increase gas pressure. Pseg advised pressure is correct for residence.
* Had carbon monoxide issue, mtp came to check it out. Was told $ 90 to come and diagnose, when guy came advised it would be $ 130 to diagnose, questioned him about the $ 90, he said that was being waived. Made no sense to me but wanted boiler checked so figured I’d question it with main office after finished. They repeated what he said. (So without «waiving» the $ 90 it would’ve been $ 230 to come and diagnose issue)
* Advised pressure issue again, spoke with boiler maker who advised pressure was ok (just about) but pressure drop was too big. They said they had told mtp about this issue before. I guess mtp forgot to tell me that and chose not to do anything about it. Maker also advised how pressure drop could be fixed (which should’ve been done on initial install to meet pressure drop requirements as started in install manual)
* Mtp came to make part change as a courtesy.
Like I said that’s my experience, I can’t compare to other options as currently haven’t used any.

I was desperate as my slow shower drain completely stopped up and was backing up into both showers today. After a friend sent someone over with a snake who was unable to get it unclogged and made a big mess I gave up and called MTP. They got there fast and fixed it fairly quickly. It was expensive as the clog was pretty bad but also they charged $ 89 just to come out. I understood that as they told me in the phone it was $ 89 to come out and then they would tell me how much. I did think however that when they told me the price to unclog it after they got here that it was including the $ 89 not in addition to it so I was a little shocked by the almost $ 400 bill.
They were really nice, professional, helpful, and cleaned up after themselves. Plus having my showers back with three teenagers and two adults is well worth it.

We needed roto rooter service today after the shower drain stopped up. My wife called MTP based on a favorable suggestion on Angie’s List. They came by the same day and fixed the problem fast. Price was OK. My wife asked them about using Liquid Plumber or a similar product to avoid a recurrence. The guy who stopped by suggested that we use a natural enzyme product instead to avoid damage to the pipes. They recommend Bio Clean which is available on line.
