OnPoint Community Credit Union

My wife and I got our second vehicle loan from Onpoint CU and were extremely pleased with the service we received from Onpoint and from Sandy the branch manager. She worked with us personally on a busy Saturday morning and got us a fabulous interest rate for our car loan. The process was very quick and painless. We were in and out quickly and still able to make my sons 10 AM soccer game in Beaverton. We were really happy with the process an will buy future vehicles through the Hillsboro/​Cornell Onpoint in the future.

Their Notary service is beyond horrible. Call ahead and be sure you ask IF they will notarize what you have, they don’t do all notary services, AND they will not «notarize» certain documents if there are any missing or blank pages. OR, they send you to the UPS Store, because «they will notarize anything». Their definition of Notary is NOT THE SAME as anyone elses, so call ahead to save your self wait time, or give your business to the UPS Store.

I bank with Onpoint Community Credit Union and frequent the Orenco branch. The team is very efficient and friendly. I always enjoy stopping in and doing business. I have financed every car with them and they always have the best rate! I’ve financed over 7 vehicles with this branch and I will continue to come back. I also would like to mention Sandy Kurkowski who is the branch manager she is great! She understands customer service and this branch is always on top of their game. This is the best bank ever! :)

One wouldn’t think it necessary to look up reviews on a credit union before signing up with one, but after the extreme lack of customer service shown by this financial institution’s untrained, uneducated immigrant employees, I have to say it’s one decision I regret. With First Tech down the street, why bother with OnPoint?

I am so underwhelmed by the lack of customer support. My wallet was lost recently, including my bank card and photo id. I called customer service and was told to head into a branch with my social security card and another debit or credit card. I went to this branch with just that and my expired drivers liscense as well as another piece of photo id. I answered all questions the teller asked, my mothers maiden name, my last transaction, where I opened up my account. I even through in my account balance for further verification. She then let me know she couldn’t do anything for me. I explained to her at this time this is my only account, and without access to any money I can’t even put gas in my car. I asked if I could transfer funds then instead to my mothers account and receive my money that way… Again no luck. Eventually she was able to give me $ 100 and nothing more. Certainly didn’t feel like my «neighborhood bank».
The teller’s condescending attitude just added insult to the whole situation.

I would give Onpoint zero stars if I could. My husband and I previously opened our account while living in Washington about 7 years ago, but have been using this branch for about 18 months.
They’ve given us bad advice every time we have applied for a loan (whether it be home, or auto) and the last situation took the cake. We applied for a HELOC and have about $ 50k equity in our house. The plan was to pay off our remaining credit card debt and finish up the patio work in our back yard. The communication on their part has been absolutely ridiculous, we have had to hound for information and the only time we get a call is to ask a question that they should already have the answer to, if they took the time to document things. 6 weeks after application still nothing was being done. We went in and Dayana (the person we applied with and was handling –or not– everything) had gone on vacation and neglected to tell us. We had been waiting for her call. We withdrew our application after they stated the only way we would be approved is if we closed all our credit cards, which would be damaging to our credit. This info could have been given to us weeks ago.
I’ll be finding a new credit union ASAP. I’m SO unhappy with them, simply for the lack of communication and customer service. I got a loan through someone else no issue.
Save yourself and don’t bank with these guys. The sign on the door says credit union, but they operate like a big bank. They don’t care about their members.

I opened my account before I came to this branch, so I have no idea how their customer service goes. However, I have used the ATM countless times and have come in three times for something small. I stand in line, tell the lady what I want, get it, and leave. Granted, the ladies (I’ve only ever seen and been helped by ladies), are pretty unfriendly and sharp with how they have treated me, something as simple as I need a few checks can make me feel like I’m actually bothering them. Also, the line says stand there to be called over, and I stand there even after someone leaves because I figured when THEY’RE ready, they will call me, like every other damn place I’ve EVER been to. Instead they almost angrily call me over. Well, excuse me for being considerate to you… this has been three times. Should I just walk on over after someone leaves with the rude assumption they have everything in order and are ready for me? Put it on the sign then!
Also, the ATMs can be so broken sometimes. I usually come to deposit checks and cash, I’ve had it where one ATM couldn’t take checks, and the other couldn’t take cash. Do you know how annoying that is if I have to deposit both? Very annoying.

I’ve been sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes. I was told I would be helped in 10 minutes. Nobody has come back to talk to us or update is on when somebody will be available to talk to us since we arrived and the help desk in the lobby is closed. I’m beginning to wonder if this Josh guy really does exist…

I walked into OnPoint to open a new account & was told everyone was busy & they reccomended I schedule an appointment, so I did. My appointment was scheduled for the following Friday, however I was in the area the Thursday before & decided to stop by to see if I could set up the account as opposed to having to drive over there again the next day. Sandy at the front desk was EXTREMELY condescending, I explained to her that I had an appointment the following day but was wondering if someone could help me anyway, she let me know that I had been scheduled with someone specific (I don’t remember the name.) & that it would be about an hour before she would be available. I informed Sandy that I didnt care who I saw at which point she gave me a nasty attitiude & told me because I was already scheduled I would have to wait for the specific person to help me EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE TWO MEMBER SERVICE REPS SITTING THERE NOT HELPING ANYONE. You really expect me to wait when there are 2 people sitting there that could help me… yeaaaa. NO. Needless to say, I left & drove a mile down the road to First Tech Credit Union, they were extremely friendly & got me in right away. I ended up opening two accounts & refinancing my auto loan that same day.
SORRY ONPOINT, BECAUSE OF YOUR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & RIDICULOUS POLICIES YOU LOST WHAT COULD’VE BEEN A LONG TERM CUSTOMER.
I would not reccomend this branch to ANYONE, save yourself the trouble & go to First Tech.

Bf and I applied for an auto loan and never got a callback or answer! Ended up using a different banker somewhere else. Terrible customer service!

This credit union is okay. It is not as bad as much of the rest of Orenco!
Easy to get to, plenty of parking, has other things close by if you want to hit more than one errand (WinCo, other banks, Jo-Ann’s Fabrics, restaurants, Walgreens)

Probably one of the worst banks I’ve ever setup an account. Dayana was cold more occupied with her personal phone calls than she was with my business. Opened my account anyway to find that many of the employees at this branch are rude, or just generally preoccupied. Closed account — won’t go back. Shameful customer service.
