The staff at JoAnne“s have been very helpful to me. Whether I am looking for help with fabrics or craft items they have given me very helpful suggestions for what I need to do my project. Thanks for your expertise.

Seriously came in at one minute before 7 today and was declined for a return service this place is ridiculous I work retail and I don’t even do that to my own customers! Never coming here again

I went to this Joann’s location last night with my mom. We were getting supplies for a few different projects. First of all, we waited in line to get material cut for probably about 45 minutes. There were 2 people working the counter and one of them just up and left while the area was jam packed with people needing help. The second issue we had that night was that I brought material up to the counter to find out it wasn’t actually on sale but put in the wrong spot. This happened not just once, but 3 times! Is no one monitoring where items and sale signs are placed? Third issue was that my mom grabbed 3 no sew fleece blanket kits out of a big bin that was marked 50% off. The bin was full of them. When we got to the cash register the girl that was ringing us up said they weren’t on sale. She went back to check and brought the sign back with her. She showed us how in very small print it had sale dates on the sign and the sale was actually over. She said that her manager told her to go ahead and give us the sale price. She proceeds to get out a calculator to figure out what 50% off of $ 19.99 is. At the end when she handed us the receipt, she started to say «in the future if you see a sale sign, at the bottom…» I stopped her right there. She had the nerve to tell us as the customer we need to pay attention to the fine print on a sale sign they still have up in the store. This isn’t the customers job, it’s the employees job to take the sign down! I didn’t bring in an expired coupon expecting to use it. It’s a sign in their store!!! Bet they would have caught the date on the coupon though. Horrible experience at this location with even worse customer service. I wish I would have gotten that girls name. She needs some better training.

I hate, loathe, and despise sewing.
So did my mom. Her older sister excels at it and makes fabulous amazing quilts. Still. Even in her 80s.
So my mom painted instead.
My middle school «Clothing 1» class was torture for both of us. I lack patience when things go wrong, like messed up stitches. I occasionally have low frustration tolerance. Its genetic. Ugh. My mom wound up fixing all my projects for me.
And there was a nasty girl in there named LeeAnn P. who, unprovoked, threw needles at me to try and upset me. I seem to bump into these girls often in my life. It’s a thing. Now I know she was crying for help. Most bullies have experienced some kind of trauma or abuse and are displacing it onto vulnerable victims. But at the time I just despised her.
The ineffectual teacher saw it all and did nothing. After one needle missed my eye by a millimeter, my parents got her in big trouble with the principal. And I got moved to an art class. I can see why my mom painted. So.Much. Better.
So I haven’t super encouraged sewing with my child. Ok, frankly, not a bit. Princess picked up an interest at a friend’s house. She’s been hankering to sew. I offered lessons and a machine but no, she wants to teach herself to sew by hand and «needs stuff.»
To Joann’s we go. I’ve always felt out of my element and not found the helpers here all that helpful. More like grumpy and checked out. This time I saw two employees stocking shelves and using the motorized carts that are meant for disabled customers as we were scoping out the thread. Ohhhhkay. That seems wrong.
Princess found the black lace she wanted, a sewing kit, and thread. We trooped up to the counter to get the lace measured and cut.
There were two girls helping two customers. No line. Girl on the right finshed so I moved forward. «I will help you in a minute,» she says, folding fabric back onto its bolt. «OK» I say. She finishes folding and says «Are you number 74»?Me: «oh, am I supposed to have a number?» She gestures around the corner to a number dispenser. I hobble (my knee is hosed) around counter, take ticket, and get number 74. Tell her, «yep, 74“and hobble back to where she is. In the meantime another numberless customer is asking her a question. Without looking at me she tells other lady «I will help you» and leaves counter with questionladycustomer trailing after her.
Hmm. Does that seem quite right to you?
Clerk number two takes a call, finishes with her customer, and I dont hesitate I hand her the number and just ask her to please measure out two yards of the lace. She kind of looks at me funny but does that and we are done. Then I thank her and gather up Princess and her thread and we head to the registers. Now the store is reasonably busy, maybe 30 – 50 customers total and only one register is open. With a line. There are at least 6 empty registers. Maybe more.
It’s a slow line because one lady has her old frail dog in the cart. And everyone has to stop and pet it. Sigh. No, it’s not a handidog.
Just as that last customer ahead wrapped up their purchase, a new line opened to my right. I sped into it quickly before anyone else could (knee be damned) and the associate was efficient and friendly.
And then we got the heck out of dodge.
Joann’s is full of fabric, crafty stuff, holiday décor and people who sew.
It’s not my favorite. If I HAVE to go trigger my PTSD I like Fabric Depot. Much better customer service.
But you might like Joann’s. Just duck if you see any flying needles. I dont know where LeeAnn P. ended up… but she did four semesters of Clothing. shes a sewer. She could be lurking nearby…

Just like any Jo-​Anns. They have a decent variety, but nothing you couldn’t find in any other Jo-​Anns. Their cross-​stitch is mediocre. Their yarn section is pretty good, but not great. Fabric comes and goes with the seasons, and they have a bunch holiday of junk of course.

I feel like a kid in a candy store here. I love coming to Joanns. Sometimes I just come to walk around and see what they have new and I usually end up buying something I don’t need. I have been coming here for many years and I love it. It can be a little slow in the front at times. But when the lines get long, they get back up right away but it still takes a while sometimes. Always super fun to come here.

I would give a higher rating except for my final experience. The cashier was not helpful and very much not interested and because I picked up my bag and did not return the basket to its designated space she cursed saying «dammit» and was right in my heels to return the basket. Rude, very bad representation of Joanne’s. I was there today at this store at around 10:00.

I love fabric and need to buy it often so this place is my default. Only because the awesome Fabric Depot is too far away and the Mill End is so expensive. The selection is nice, even with coupons I still find them to be a bit expensive, but there is nothing that can be done when you have a need and they are the only ones to fulfill it.
I have always noticed that in ALL JoAnn stores in the county, the employees are overall not a happy bunch. I used to think that fabric people thought they were an elite group… since they «know» every thing and you don’t. I even asked a friend who was an employee and she reluctantly agreed. She said that when you get asked the same handful of questions every day, all day long, week after week, you get a little tired of answering with enthusiasm. Hmmm. Maybe. But I still stick to my theory that you can tell how nice the company is (and how they treat their employees) by how relaxed and at ease (or not) everyone is.
I have another conspiracist theory that says JoAnn is like Russian mafia, and she runs a sweatshop. She is all about the bottom line and people are like animal. lol. Okay rant over. I feel better now. Okay store usually has what you need but you are going to have to pay for it. No one every brags about the «killer deals» they get, so don’t expect any. You get your receipt/​slip with your 20% off… IF you can find something that is actually not on sale at the time… I just know they rotate the merch and the discounts so that it’s always in their favor. You look at your little slip and it says $ 3-​$ 5 off… and you try to ignore the bottom line that shows you are still overpaying even with said discount. Oh well, whattaya gonna do. Maybe plan a roadtrip to Fabric Depot.

Was here at 2 pm on a saturday. Long line and yet they only had two cashiers? What a waste of time

Lucky me I just got to wait for eight minutes until the single checkout person even acknowledged my presence. Prior to that I needed help and Cheryl the manager curtly asked someone else to help me. When I got back with my chosen fabric, Cheryl completely ignored me and walked away without even getting someone to help me. I promise I do not know Cheryl nor have I ever offended her, she just seems to be a very unfriendly person.

Jo-​Ann fabrics drove me to drinking. I’m a busy man who values his weekend time like a lot of us do. I had a few things to get done before I could relax with my wife, one of which was to buy fabric for blackout curtains. After looking for help for 15 minutes I interrupted a busy employee cutting fabric who kindly stopped what she was doing to help me find what I needed, very nice lady. I pissed off some customers who had been patiently waiting.
I picked out what I needed and took a number (16) waiting to get it cut. At 3pm they were serving number 6. At 4.30pm I handed back my number because they had only helped 4 customers in an hour and a half, and there were 6 more to go. I wasted an hour and half of my Saturday afternoon in a fabric store and did not get what I needed. I walked next door to Winco in a rage, bought a six pack and went home to drink all six tall boys. Get it together Jo-​Ann.

Way better service and in-​store stock levels than the Tigard location. This one is sorta on my way home from work, and because its better organized & better staffed (except at registers), I prefer to shop here.
Note that you can use all coupons available in a purchase– smartphone app, email, mailed circular and newspaper ad. Have all of them with you when you shop or you will not get the discount!

Store is brightly lit, well organized, large aisles and great selections. They have a plentiful selection of the crafts they carry, almost always in stock with everything. I pretty much find exactly what I’m looking for or something almost exactly like what I was after. Usually a one stop place for me. Never had a problem with employees but I’ve never had fabric cut or needed to find anything I couldn’t find myself– that’s actually how well organized it is, that I could actually find everything just by walking around.
I absolutely must praise their yarn and baking sections, the selection is huge and I have found tons of yarn/​baking goodies here that I hadn’t seen anywhere else. Very pleased to be near this craft store.

So far everything has been pretty good with them. Just weekends its hard to find someone that will help you when you are looking for something. They don’t always have everything in either & you end up having to go to another store. Which all the other stores I’ve had to call have the rudest employees that why i go to this one. The employees are great here. But there is one lady that works in the cutting area that is older and is always so rude. She has an attitude every time i go there. I dislike her & try to avoid her.

Love it, most of their items are in stock. Store is well managed, during sale weekends it may be difficult to find an employee for help. Otherwise my go to place for all my crafting and sewing needs.

This Joanne’s has the WORST customer service ever. Every time you ask them to do something, they roll their eyes and make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them. One time, my sister was asking where they had a pair of fabric scissors and the employee actually gave her the hand… like she seriously put her hand in my sister’s face. What the hell? So yeah, never going back there again.

I’m not one to be known for crafty goods. But I know I can find items here if I need anything!
Like any arts and crafts store, this place is pretty organized and clean! I know I can find a button, some type of artsy-​crafty item here for a gift or holiday décor as well.
Employees are very kind. They’ve always been helpful when I have that deer-​caught-​in-​headlights kinda look (since I have no idea where items are placed). They are willing to go out of the way and help you find what you’re looking for. In addition, walk you to the place!

I’ve been known to spend a lingering lunch hour in here many times, as this location is just around the corner from work. Great selection of not just fabrics, but many other crafting supplies. I love doing crafty stuff. My latest obsession is yarn crafts (knitting and such) and fleece blankets — Jo-Ann’s has a great selection of both.
They have a good selection of a lot of crafting stuff, really. I find that the staff is very knowledgable and helpful with fabrics and sewing, perhaps less so with other crafting areas. You may find a better selection of specialty items at a more craft-​specific store, but the basics and then some are definitely here.

WoW! Great craft store… where I’m from (Hawaii) we only have Ben Franklin that doesn’t match up to this store.
It had EVERYTHING you could imagine! I went to get a patch… and ended up buying all these other cool crafty things. LoL. I couldn’t resist!

This is a *LARGE* store with tons of stuff in it. Sewing machines, sewing lessons, crafts, material including unusual kinds such as waterproof, cordura type material for special projects. You are likely to find what you need here.
Big parking lot with plenty of parking, very clean, they have nice, knowledgeable staff who wander around and ask if you need help (but not annoyingly so). Close to PetPro’s, WinCo, Walgreens, Kohl’s, Panera Bread, Del Taco, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Office Max, 2−3+ banks & a ton of fast food places such as Sonic, Carl Jr., A&W, Burger King.
I like the remnant section (‘sale’ table) for various weird art projects we do. Once my husband made me black out curtains for the car in case we get stranded again on the continental divide in an ice storm. :) That material could have been expensive had we not found it on the sale, remnant table (ie: could have been $ 30+, but was far less).
We have been here 5 – 10 times.

The employees are pretty MEH most of the time.
But this place is button PARADISE! Great selection of fabric, too.
I went to Michaels and Craft Warehouse and they had JACK squat.
How can you have fabric, thread, yarn, and no button selection?
I was already pissed because my expensive wool coat lost 3 buttons from a $ 9 dry cleaning.
I couldn’t find the right buttons to cover in fabric.
I ended up finding even better buttons here, and just replacing all of them.

This is one of the only large JoAnn stores in the state, and its right down the street from me! I’m a scrapbooker, and I can always find what I’m looking for. They’ve got lots of wedding supplies, baking supplies, large selection of fabric. What more do you need?!
It’s clean, well-​organized, and well-​stocked. Their prices are pretty much the same as other craft stores, but they frequently run sales that allow me to really stock up. This location has pretty great staff, the one that teaches the Cricuit classes (I can’t remember her name!) is a wealth of information and has helped me a ton. Sign up for coupons via email; this will be your go-​to crafting spot.
Hot tip: they’ll accept Michael’s coupons! No excuse not to get what you need on sale!
