History
Established in 1923.
Bretthauer Oil traces its roots back to 1923, when Fred Bretthauer first began working as a Union 76 distributor. Returning home from World War II, Don and Fred soon founded Bretthauer Oil Company. Beginning with only a single truck and resolute determination, Bretthauer Oil soon grew from a local heating oil distributor to a fuel hub serving the entire region. The business continued to grow and evolve into commercial fuel deliveries including light petroleum products and Union Oil lubricants. In 1987 Andy Bretthauer took over the company, making him the third generation of Bretthauers to own and operate Bretthauer Oil. Andy quickly expanded the company by taking advantage of new business opportunities, including mobile fleet fueling services and the Pacific Pride Cardlock Network. Bretthauer Oil continues to deliver home heating oil, tank wagon, and truck and trailer deliveries of commercial light-petroleum products, lubricant products, and mobile fleet fueling services.
