I went here with a friend based #1 on the creative name and #2 the Shark Tank story… I guess I can say I’ve been here now so that’s something. Long story short, I paid over $ 10 for a grilled cheese, tomato soup and a drink that I could have made at home for ¼ of that price. Oh, and I sat in a tiny empty restaurant. Good times. There were two people working, a order taker and a cook. Minimal interaction but I guess they were both ok. I don’t know, not much was said to judge it on. The food came out relatively quick and was delivered by the cook who said enjoy and walked away. It was just kind of awkward. I tried the Turkey Pesto which was basically two slices of Schwebel’s’ a single slice of cheese, an ounce of the thinnest sliced turkey ever and maybe a tablespoon of tasteless pesto. You could seriously eat this sandwich in about 6 bites and it cost $ 6.45! The Creamy Tomato Basil soup wasn’t bad but at $ 3 a cup it’s not really worth it. It did help salvage the sandwich though by dipping it. It’s just simply not worth the cost for what you get and it isn’t anything special. For a few bucks more you can go to Melt and get a giant and unique grilled cheese plus fries. It’s much more food(almost too much), more options and actually has flavor. Sorry, no tomato soup there. I don’t know, maybe even go to the grocery store and get what’s needed to make your own specialty grilled cheese and I’m sure the cost will be much less and you will probably end up with a better sandwich. Cool idea, poor execution. Shark Tank. «Tanked» on this one but check it out for yourself.

This place was really really greasy. It smelled super greasy and everything I touched was greasy. The food was ok despite that I suppose. I would try it again maybe because my boyfriend likes it. The chunky tomato basil soup was also pretty flavorless.

I’ll admit, I don’t get it. I can make awesome grilled cheese and tomato soup at home. This place is expensive for what you get– and the fancier sandwiches(with meat in them) — you can taste when the meat has been held over in the walk-in. Tried a few sandwiches to give it a fair shake — but there’s better food out there for less money.

Tomato soup and grilled cheese. How can you mess that up? Right? Well… the soup isn’t really that special. But the different grilled cheese options are all pretty tasty. I like the Flying Pig the best. The kids working the counter are all great kids. Good vibes regardless of the lackluster soup.

I can’t wait to go back to try their doughnut grilled cheese sandwich. Very delicious but the portion size left something to be desired. A perfect light lunch.

I believe I first heard about this place on Shark Tank and have looked forward to trying it. Its close to my work. I hope they add a location on the North Side someday. I hope this is not an insult, but I think it would be a great addition to a mall food court at Polaris, Easton, or Tuttle. My first meal was the PEP+CHE which is kind of like a pizza sub, served on ½″ sour dough bread. Lots of meat and cheese with plenty of butter. Definitely not diet fare. I should have gotten their soup of the day, it was loaded bake potato soup. Instead I got the tomato basil soup. Not a fan of creamy tomato soups. I guess I’ve been eating Campbells for 50 years and prefer that. They do have Coke zero! Edited 9⁄30. On my 3rd visit I realized they have a regular tomato soup. I thought that was what I ordered my first visit, but I received the tomato/basil soup. The regular tomato soup is a little thick but I like it much better than the basil variety. — Just mentioning this so you can be aware.

Really expensive for what it is… I’m kind of a plain Jane, I’d rather make my own cream of tomato at home. The Mac and cheese grilled cheese was a bit much. Overall, I’d say ‘meh’ to eating here again.

Me & B decided to stop in at Tom+Chee this afternoon for lunch. Considering it is Memorial Day, the service was top notch. The cashier asked if it was our first time and reviewed the menu and offered suggestions. B decided to go with ½ of the The Italian and ½ of the BBQ Bacon, which was nice that you didn’t have to order 2 whole sandwiches. B-The sandwiches were great. Very creative use of chips and something I was not expecting, but glad they did! The Italian-Done well, the cheese was melty and I loved the crunch of the potato chips. The BBQ Bacon-As good as the Italian. The BBQ chips are the taste in the BBQ sandwich minus the mess. It reminded me of me putting Doritos on hamburgers for the crunch. P-I ordered the chicken salad with ranch dressing which was a recommendation by the very helpful cashier. The salad was very fresh, the chicken was not chicken strips, but rather thinly sliced pieces of chicken that was moist and tender. The lettuce & carrots were crispy and the dressing was good. We will return for more, be prepared!

I’m a cheese fanatic. I feel like I should start off with that. So when I heard about this place and checked out the menu I was excited. Still waiting for a location far north so after planning for a while took a trip out to the Hilliard store. I’m mad I didn’t get the nice girl’s name that took our order but she was very friendly and very helpful since it was our first time. I ended up keeping it pretty basic with the Tom+Chee(dized tomatoes, mozzarella, and cheddar on sourdough) with tomato soup. I was a fan of the bread, went perfectly with the sandwich and the cheese was warm and melty just how I like it. The soup was just ok. I’ll probably skip it next time. Looking forward to trying the other signature sandwiches with meat and other funky ingredients. The real MVP was the grilled cheese donut! I had to try it after hearing it was on Shark Tank. Sounds like a weird combo but the sweet donut and the salty cheddar cheese work so well together! Think the first time you tried a McGriddle and how your taste buds were confused yet intrigued. Will be trying the other donut options next trip. I would have given a 3 but had to add a star for excellent service and the donut sandwich we had for dessert.

I’m a huge fan of fast casual and this place will be placed at the top of my list! Tried the Flying Pig, with the chunky Tomato soup! The sandwich was a Pork lovers dream made a buttery grilled sourdough with a Gouda cheese. Topped off work dilled pickle slices!!! So. So. So tasty. The tomato soup was thick and hearty served at a perfect temperature. Up next trying the grilled doughnuts. Yes you read that right!!!

Unimpressed with this location. Having been to the Newport location and having had a great experience, this location is a bit lackluster in my opinion. Tables/Chairs not clean, young staff working without any real direction. Food certainly wasn’t bad but it tasted just like what I make at home. Husband liked the chili. I had a grilled cheese with Avocado and Egg and the eggs were scrambled & terrible. Certainly wouldn’t recommend that. Agree with other posters that if you’re looking for something indulgent and out of the ordinary: try melt.

Tastes like grilled cheese I make at home. .except with way less cheese. Seriously I got the regular grilled cheese and it was terrible(one slice of cheese?). Creamy tomato soup is okay, but way too pricey. My suggestion: go to melt on high street. At least they put stuff in their sandwiches. It’s still not amazing but better than this stuff.

Like most people, I came here because of the Shark Tank episode. The concept of luxury, expensive grilled cheese is a new one so I thought I’d give it a shot. I hardly ever cook my own food, but I’ve made grilled cheese sandwiches before and this just tasted a little better than when I made it myself. Definitely not worth the drive or the $ 10 I spent.

Went here with a couple of friends. Very average grilled cheese. The soup was kind of bland. It was very similar to a sandwich that you make at home and canned soup. Total for two sandwiches and soup was ~20 I would not eat here again unless there was a significant discount.

So I came to Tom+Chee because I wanted to try a new restaurant in the area. I gave it a try and it was okay. It’s comparable to the same food I get at the beach when I’m vacationing out of the country. Tom+Chee is short of tomato and cheese. They are known for their grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Which I got today for lunch. I think the price is sort of hefty for the soup but the price for the sandwich is okay if it’s made right. If you have a gluten allergy, you can enjoy the gluten free items on the menu. It was good to try a new place, not sure if I’ll be back but they get points in my book for making this place creative with the menu.

Nothing exiting to write about. I’ve only been to three restaurants that do mainly grilled cheese so my scale of judgement may be off. So in my opinion… Too pricey for what you get, everyone was still hungry when we left especially the kids. Kids meal was $ 4 I think and they got half a sandwich and a tiny cup of strawberries and bananas. The equivalent of one and a half strawberries and a few thin banana slices. You can get chips or soup with the kids meal. It does come with a drink so that was good. I believe the basic grilled cheese is $ 4.75 and it was pretty bland. Bowl of soup was 4.50 and I opted for the dipping size which was 1.50. The service was mediocre. I should clarify by saying a couple employees were very uninterested in providing good service and a couple were exceptional. The creamy tomato basil soup was bland and even kind of sour. The sandwiches didn’t meet my expectations either. For a place that does grilled cheese I was expecting a flavorful cheese and a good amount of it. That didn’t happen. I will probably try it again at some point, but it definitely wasn’t impressive. The idea of a grilled cheese donut sounds weird, but a couple people said it was worth trying so maybe next time.

Calling Tom+Chee a grilled cheese restaurant is a bit of a stretch. I ordered the Flying Pig and it was pretty much just a grilled deli sandwich. There was no decadent overabundance of oozing cheese which I equate with grilled cheese. For what it was though, I enjoyed it. The meat was tender and tasted good. The bacon was thick cut and grilled just right. It had the right amount of pickles as well as fresh bread. The portion size was good that filled me up but didn’t leave me overstuffed. On the side I ordered some beer cheese soup which was excellent. It tasted like delicious fondue and was perfect for dipping. The service was ok. It was a little slow to get the food out but I didn’t mind. For a first timer, the menu seemed a bit overwhelming. Someday I hope to come back and create my own sandwich.

This is a fast growing chain that finally opened up in Hilliard. I went in on Day 2 and received a very cheery and excited welcome to the store. The cashiers were very attentive and cheerful. This place is definietly new and exciting for the surrounding area. I was excited about giving it a try(even though I have been to ones in Lexington and Nati). These are glorfied Grilled cheese sandwiches and very rich, creamy soups in a modern deisgn. The menu board is super busy but they break it down really well. they have take out menus as well to help the novices read through their options. You can always switch cheese and breads if needed. They have gluten free bread option as well. I ordered the Hiippie and Chee, chunky tomato, broccoli cheddar(soup of the day), and Crunchy chicken Garlic. They have 3 options for soup Bowl– $ 5, Cup– $ 3, and Dipper $ 1.50. I think the dipper is worth the $ 1.50 so I ordered one of those. The Broccoli Cheddar is a bit grainy but it tasted better after a few slurps. My wife thought it was made with evaporated milk. The Chunky Tomato is chunky and very rich. It tastes like tomato and is easily better than your canned variety. The sandwiches are decent but I wouldnt recommend the Hippie & Chee. My problem with it is that I could make it at home for a lot cheaper. I will probably go for The Flying Pig(had that before). They grill it well and the sandwich had plenty of ingredients inside but for $ 5.50, i will make it at home. My mom liked the Crunchy Chicken and we order it again but it didnt really taste like grilled cheese. I love the idea but as with all grilled cheese places, I can make them at home for a lot cheaper. The soups on the otherhand are better than what I make so I may come back here for that, donuts, and of course the Mac & Cheese Sandwich. A welcome addition to the lunch and dinnr scene in Hilliard. This place will be hopping for the rest of the summer, no doubt about that. They have a nice little patio with a variety of booths, high tables, and counter seeating inside. July 18th is the grand opening with the original franchise owners coming to Hilliard.
