Mountaintop Wine Shoppe is a full service wine retail and wine bar establishment. We have nearly 700 wines for sale by the bottle (and by the case!). We have wine accessories and can special order any wine (with it typically arriving within 1 – 2 days!).

WineStation by Napa Technologies self-​service wine tasting machines! In our retail shoppe, you have the opportunity to taste up to 16 different wines at any time (8 whites, 8 reds)! These wine dispensing machines allow you to swipe your pour card and try any of the available wines. Cards are yours to keep and can be recharged ($$) as often as you would like.

Wine Lounge — the wine lounge seats over 30 people with an extensive wine list and cheese plate options. Unique to our shoppe, any wine we have in the shoppe can be purchased by the bottle to be consumed in the wine lounge (with NO corkage fee!). A TV for sports watching, free Wi-​Fi, and subtle background music make our wine bar a perfect place to come, relax, and enjoy wine! During times of nice weather, we will also have outdoor seating available on the front lawn, including a relaxing fire pit area!

History

Established in 2014.

Mountaintop Wine Shoppe opened it’s doors for business on March 21, 2014. The longtime dream of Managing Partner Bobby Lewis of owning a wine shop and wine bar was realized. Along with business partners Christine and Michael Murphy, the new «wine scene» in Highlands was made a reality, using the old Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, across the street from Reeves Hardware and next door to Main Street Inn & Bistro. The building is the first residence built on Main Street in Highlands back in 1883.

Along with Mike and Christine, Bobby had the inspiration in 2013 to bring back a wine shop to Highlands! Highlands has always appreciated fine wine and they felt that having a wine shop where wine could be purchased but also enjoyed would be a great fit.
