This is a large vacation rental, perfect for family reunions. Six bedrooms (PLUS large loft and den), and four bathrooms, it sleeps up to 18 people. Open floor plan easily accommodates get togethers with large groups, and dining room table is extra large for mealtimes.

This is a «deep woods» location, at the end of a road, so almost no traffic goes by, and paths lead directly from this home to fabulous hiking trails (Chattooga River Trail). Swimming holes and many other hikes and things to do are a very short drive away.

Built in 2003 with superior insulation and a passive solar exposure, it is comfortable even in the middle of winter. Other rooms include a covered screen porch, open front porch with charcoal grille, grapevine covered arbor out back, full laundry.

Located off of Whiteside Cove Road, in between Highlands and Cashiers, about 20 minutes from each.

History

Established in 2003.

This lodge was built by the owner for his own personal use, and large enough for family reunions. After construction, he decided to make it available to others when he is not using it.

This is very different from many vacation rentals since there is a large amount of books and games here, and we encourage people to visit prior to grocery shopping because there are usually many items in the pantry and refrigerator which you are welcome to use — and replace if you like. Condiments, spices, sugar, flour, canned goods and many others are likely there already.

The owner has a variety of small business ventures, from international commercial real estate to car wash to electric vehicles! But when he needs to relax, this is where he comes. He has three daughters, all of whom insist this home stay in the family for a very long time so they can visit with their families too, generation after generation!
