The Home Depot

Neve the cashier is the main reason I return, he remembers you, greets with sincerity, overall excellent customer service. He’s a guy I would hire. The young gentleman in plumbing know his stuff. Their recent focus on customer service is why I’ve now return to Hone Depot over Lowes.

I would give it less if I could.
I ordered a «72 hour» carpet in July. It turns out that the «72 hours» doesn’t even begin until the area to be carpeted is measured, the carpeting paid for and the installation company contacts you.
Since there seems to be a shortage of measurers in the area and a great demand for them, it took 4 days (96 hrs) to get someone out to my house.
After I had ordered and paid for the carpeting, I was then told that the installers had 24 hrs to contact me to set up the installation. I received a voicemail message on Friday afternoon, over 24 hrs later. On the message, I was told that the clock on the 72 hrs to complete the installation wouldn’t start until I had spoken to her to set the appointment. I returned the call and left her a voicemail at about 3:00 pm. I never received a return call. At 4:35 I tried to reach her again. I was then informed by the receptionist that the customer service rep had left at 4:30 and she wouldn’t be back in the office until Monday, therefore my installation would my take place until at least Thursday.
When I finally spoke to someone on Monday, she informed me that since I had some tile to be removed along with my old carpet, the installation would now take 2 days. I was going to be out of town that week so I asked that the installers to let me know the window of time when they were coming so I could get a friend to let them into my house. I also provided them with my friend’s phone number and was told they would call 30 minutes prior to their arrival. However, that call was never made and the tech called me in NJ saying he was at the front door.
The next day when the carpet installer was at my home, he had a question about how I wanted to do the padding in the stairs. He called me on my cell phone while I was still in NJ. He spoke with broken English in a very thick accent making it extremely difficult for me to understand him. I asked him to have someone from his office call me and explain the situation to me which he agreed to. Almost needless to say, that phone call never came either.
To top it off, when I came home from out of town, I went to go to the basement to see the new carpet and found that the installers had cracked the door frame leading to the basement. After 2 months of run around, which included speaking to no less than 6 different people, the Home Depot has denied my claim and refuses to fix my door frame. They didn’t even have the common courtesy of contacting me to let me know they weren’t going to pay for my door, they left it to me to contact them.
The reason I went with this carpet from Home Depot in the first place is that it was advertised as 72 hour carpet, which is completely misleading. I wanted to have the carpet installed before I left to go out of town and I needed it done before the movers came with my furniture. As you can see, my 72 hour carpet somehow morphed into an almost 4 month ordeal that left me with a damaged house..
I would encourage everyone to avoid this Home Depot in Highlands Ranch and I do you not plan on spending any money at Home Depot ever again

I actually really like this Home Depot in HR. It is large, clean and there are always associates around to help. Since we moved over this away we tend to come over to this one over others because it is so nice. One tiny ding is the parking lot, it is really a maze to get in and out because of all the other businesses around it, but that is a little thing.

It’s hard to rate any one HD different from any other since they’re all a chain, but I admit this one in Highlands Ranch is pretty nice. Most of the staff seemed pretty helpful and I actually found everything i was looking for, which was a plus

The problem I experienced was not with Home Depot itself, but with the plumbing company they subcontract out to, Delta Plumbing. Our water heater went out, we went to HD to purchase a new one. We wanted it professionally installed so HD subcontracted it out. The delivery & installation alone cost SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! That is almost twice the cost of the water heater itself. They were supposed to be here between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. Didn’t show up until after 5:00 pm, and it was only one guy doing it. He immediately began to try to up-​sell us, using thinly veiled threats of failing inspections if we didn’t pay $ 150 more. Absolutely absurd. I will not even consider going to HD for any future services; they should be well aware that the companies they sub out to are tarnishing their reputation.

HP has everything I need in the home care department. I’m so glad they’re close. And the staff really shares their considerable expertise.

We purchased a garage door opener and a storm door at the Home Depot. We paid to have them installed and I was very pleased with both of the installers. The garage door installation was done in less than two hours. The installer was experienced in this type of installation and showed me all of the features of the door.
I also ordered a special order storm door. I had to wait for three weeks to get the door installed and the people in the home improvement center were difficult to contact about when the door would arrive. I contacted management at the store before I got an answer. The installer did an excellent job on the door and took the time to show me the features on the Anderson 3000 storm door, that I wasn’t aware of. I would recommend the installers used by home depot, they are very good.

Overall a great experience. This store does a great job of keeping everything stocked and straightened up which makes it easy to find what you need.
My only comment is that over the last year or so, I don’t run into as many experts who work there. I have had to return several items due to incorrect recommendations. That said, I have never had issues with returning anything.
Random Side Note: I’m not a gardener at all — but this is the best Home Depot for garden supplies, plants, etc.

It’s a typical Home Depot in terms of what’s available. The garden department is better than others that I’ve seen. The reason I’m giving it 5 stars instead of 4 is because there are always employees available throughout the entire store who are actually happy to answer my questions and even ask me if they can be of any help. Their advice and recommendations have always been great.

I normally think of going to hardware stores as a must do and absolutely dread it. So far only one store has made my list of stores I will go to willingly and they are outside of Boston, and that doesn’t exactly work for someone who lives in Colorado.
Why do I hate this? I am a girl in a hardware store. This clearly means my little chromosomes are all mixed up and don’t know what direction the glitter is in. Here’s the downfall to this, I’m an engineer. I build robots. I generally know my way around a machine shop fairly well.
So this store. Mixed results. I have been mobbed by male employees asking if I need help, which can get a little annoying when I am just trying to sort through bold sizing or walk to checkout. I have also been told that a certain plastic will work when I know full well it will not and tried to explain why it wouldn’t. Again, sorry, my ovaries must be out of whack. I generally stick to not asking for help since it is easier.
But then… when I did need help. They have pulled through in impressive form. I was trying to find wood stove pellets in the middle of summer during a fire ban. Read that sentence again. Ok, good. I went in one day after work on the way home and one person spent a half hour trying to help me find them. The computer said they were in stock, but they were no where to be found inside. It was pouring outside and they helped me look outside in the pouring rain where the pellets might be. When that come up dry I was given suggestions of other stores in the area that might have them, even if they were not Home Depot. Yeah, you just redeemed yourselves.

Who doesn’t like Home Depot… Wait I’m a guy… So of course I like it!!! The people that work here are great and very helpful.

Okay, I must admit, I was never really a fan of going to Home Depot, much less any home improvement or hardware store. There was a time where there was no one around to help me when I would enter any type of store like this (and I need a LOT of help here), but my visits here are the exact opposite. There are several workers coming up and asking me if I need help (is it that obvious that I do need help?!) every time I go there. They are all very knowledgeable and I always leave there smarter (and usually a lot more broke!).
It is obvioius to me that they take the time to hire individuals who care and want to help customers. I actually look forward to going there now. Crazy, huh?

My place for home supplies!
I heard some bad comments about Home Depot, like they do not have good customer service. But they are fine on my book. I am not an expert with building supplies and I do not take care of fixing stuff at home regularly. Yes, I am kind of a slacker. At least Home Depot takes care of the common folk too.
When summer comes along I have to turn off the couch potato mode (at least for awhile) and take care of the lawn. I know I can get my supplies here. This store is big and it is usually busy.

It’s a Home Depot. If you don’t know what to expect at a Home Depot I’d like to welcome you to planet earth. So why 4 stars? I’ve been there 3 times since moving to HR and have been able to find friendly help every time in every department. That is refreshing for a Home Depot.

My husband is one of those do-​it-​himself-​ers. Any project he decides to do, he does it perfectly (and in a timely manner, unlike my father). We recently needed to purchase a new garbage disposal, especially since the old one was leaking into the bottom of my cupboard. We went to Home Depot, talked to one of the friendly guys in an orange apron and purchased a disposal. The guy was very knowledgeable in helping us select one. He even walked Jeff through the easy installation. We brought it home and my studly (and very manly) guy installed it in the time it took me to write this review.
My husband finds an excuse to visit «The Depot» every weekend. They’re always extremely knowledgeable and eager to help. We’ve never had a circumstance where we get someone who is like, «Uh… I don’t know… I think so…» We’ve been to several Home Depots (especially when we lived in Southern California), and I can honestly say that the Highlands Ranch one is my favorite.
