Wow, I used to go to Radio Shacks more regularly, but when they started moving locations many, many years back, I lost track where they went. I was so pleased to find out there were several within close proximity. The service they provided was superior. So helpful on giving holiday gift ideas… that I think I may have found that«special» item that I had no idea I wanted to purchase, but now see how good an idea it really is. For one of my nephews or sons, I may go back to get the«real» breadboard which you can build and program things. Something that is available for kids in a scaled down game/kit through toy stores, but this just seemed so authentic and applicable for those who may be considering electrical engineering as a future direction.

Radio Shack may have slightly higher prices, but they normally have what I need in-stock. This specific location usually has very friendly service, knowledgeable staff and many times likes to recommend alternative solutions(strictly speaking wiring/hook-ups).

I stop in here when I’m searching for hard-to-find electronics, gadgets, etc. The store is clean,(and it’s small) the people are friendly, and it’s sensibly organized. I was surprised because the telephone system I was shopping for was about 10% higher here than in a competing department store. It’s an out-of-the-way location.
