Description

Specialties

We are committed to meeting all of our patients’ visual needs by providing the highest level of eye care. Since 2004 we have grown from a small optical center to a full service eye care center offering state of the art diagnostic equipment as well as the area’s première selection of designer eye wear.

History

Established in 1999.

Highlands Ranch Optical opened its doors for business in December of 1999. It has been owned by Dr. H. Jeff Ward since 2004. Since its inception, it has grown from a small optical to a full service eye care facility with the area’s largest and most distinctive selection of designer eyewear. It also has grown into a referral center for patients needing specialty contact lens fittings (i.e. Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Dengeneration, Post-RK, etc.). Dr. Ward performed a prestigious residency in Corneal Pathology and Contact Lenses, and this, along with his extensive experience fitting such patients has led to regular referrals not only from Colorado, but from its surrounding states as well as Mexico. In addition, Dr. Ward is one of the most active orthokeratologists in the Denver-Metro area. In May of 2015, Highlands Ranch Optical moved to its current location. The new office is a state of the art facility with over 2.5 times the square footage of its old location.

Meet the Business Owner

Jeff W.

Business Owner

Dr. H. Jeff Ward is the owner and an optometrist at Highlands Ranch Optical. After graduating from Northwestern University in 1990 (Phi Beta Kappa) he went on to pursue a Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude. He then went on to complete a residency in Corneal Pathology and Contact Lenses at the New England College of Optometry. In August of 2001, he moved to Colorado, and in 2004 he became the sole owner of Highlands Ranch Optical. In 2011 he became one of only a small number of Fellows in the International Academy of Orthokeratology. Finally, in 2012 he passed the American Board of Optometry’s Examination and earned the title Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Again, only a small percentage of optometrists have earned this designation. He currently resides in the South Denver Metro area with his wife, two sons and dog!
