UPDATE: Just wanted to remind everyone of what a lousy company this is. They have zero work ethic, zero customer service, and are aggressive and spite filled. Rather than focus on improving their business,. look at all the reviews here, they attack their customers, like they did me. I prepaid a living social, and then they lied and posted not to believe my review because they had to take me to «collections». Wow. That was after they had accused me of NOT being a real customer. I hope these Unilocal reviews are enough for anyone to realize this company is TOXIC! WHY the update? Because of their comment (lie) in response to my complaint. :
HMMMMM…once again, attacking the customer and lying in an attempt to salvage a horrible reputation. Business doesn’t work this way, just FYI. If you wonder WHY you have such poor reviews, it’s not because of a conspiracy from all your customers, it’s because they were all ripped off and subjected to your horrendous lack of work ethic, bully attitude in retaliation, and this new one, lying about a customer saying I didn’t pay, and you took me to collections. Uhhh… I bought a living social. PRE-​PAID!!! Of course, this is the second lie, after the first lie where you said I wasn’t an «actual» customer, so don’t believe my review. Now you lied and said I didn’t pay so don’t believe my review. This business is comical. However, THAT being said, I wish I could have gotten away with not having to pay you for a job you were horrendous at. No such luck. you got my money. Can I get a refund, please? Ha ha ha ha. Yeah, right.

I wish I had read these before I called them. I made the mistake of having Dust Bunnies come to my home. First, I was not a livingsocial deal (like that should make a difference?), I have no pets and my house has been professionally cleaned every 2 weeks for 10 years. My existing company had hired someone who was careless and broken a few of my things, so was trying a new company with the emphasis on CAREFUL. While Melissa was very friendly, the following outlines my ONE experience with them:
1. on her initial estimate visit she pointed out areas that were in need of cleaning and how inferior my existing service was because they were overlooking that and she could do better. She also indicated they only use green products that she makes and that I would always know the cleaner who would be in my home. She emphasized how careful they are and that I would be made aware of anything damaged.
2. While she was at my house, she took a call from her General Manager, a guy who I could hear yelling and freaking out on the phone about a client issue, I ignored it and hired her.
3. The first day they were supposed to come, they forgot — she didn’t call me to explain etc. I left a msg and the guy called me back and rescheduled. No remediation for the inconvenience.
4. The rescheduled time they were coming the cleaning gal called and told me she was lost and running a little late (she was very nice)
5.She called me to tell me when she was leaving my house and in that conversation mentioned that the guy manager had come to assist her in cleaning my home (I was a little surprised by this as no one had told me he would be there)
6. Upon returning home, I checked ALL those overlooked spots that Melissa had pointed out and not one had been cleaned. My house had never looked dirtier after a professional cleaning.
7. They skipped my pantry room and laundry room (which is the garage entry to my house) entirely — no one touched them
8. I found a can of pledge in my basement they left behind (not sure when that was added to the ‘green’ list of homemade products)
9. When I went to straighten a tapestry on my dining room table, I almost fainted. one of a kind silk gift from Vietnam — they obviously got something on the silk fringe of the tapestry and instead of telling me about it, they CUT the fringe on both sides to cut out whatever they got on it and ruined it — never mentioned it to me in the phone call.
10. I left a message to cancel any further services and she nor anyone else called me back to find out why.
So don’t bother to now — be thankful I am only leaving you a bad review and not suing you for the damage in my home.

I wish that I could write a review on the service. Unfortunately I was unable to even receive it. like most here, I bought this deal on living social. They were very helpful on the phone and accommodating with honoring the deal when they couldn’t fit me into their schedule before the expiration. When they were supposed to show up at 9 a.m. they called at 9:02 and said they could not make it and would like to reschedule for 1:30 p.m. I happily accepted the new time. They still have not called nor shown up and it’s nearly two hours past the rescheduled appointment. Very disappointed as some of the reviews here are really great.
At least communicate with clients. Unacceptable!

100% no show. The wife took the day off of work to accomodate the cleaners.
We had a scheduled cleaning at 9AM and by 10am no one shows. Wife gets a call stating that they are running late and wouldn’t be able to show up until 1pm (at 9AM already late? and by 4 hours even?). That was acceptable as she had taken the entire day off of work. Well, 1pm comes and goes, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, no show, and not even any phone calls, emails, or attempts to contact her to let her know it either was going to be later or need to be rescheduled. A day off of work for nothing and still a dirty house. I truly hope that this review helps others and perhaps even makes it back to the owner because this lack of customer care and service is deplorable.
Customer service is king.

UPDATE 5÷27÷13 … I did hear back from Dust Bunnies and we scheduled another cleaning but then she sent me an email that said they wouldn’t come unless I took down this review. I never knew her offer to «fix» came with strings attached. I said I would update it saying that we had rescheduled and I would take it down and write another one if I had a different experience but nothing had actually been fixed yet. It seems if she is trying to get new customers, the point of doing a Living Social type deal, she would attempt to make things better, with me and others as well.
Most of the 5-​star reviews that she refers to have never written another Unilocal review, leading me to believe they are biased reviews from friends or family members.
While the owner’s response below is more civilized than usual, it seems SHE doesn’t actually understand what a man hour is. As a former project manager, I do. 3 hours of cleaning is 3 hours of cleaning, whether it is one person for 3 hours (which is what I had), 2 people for 1.5 hours, or 3 people for an hour. If she thinks 3 bathrooms being sorta cleaned (no top to bottom here) and a bedroom being dusted is sufficient for 3 hours of cleaning … Well, all the more reason to find a different cleaning company.

Like others have shared, I tried this company through a Living Social deal. I had the same problem with my certificate being marked as used but when I called, the owner told me it wasn’t a problem and we scheduled my cleaning. At first I was pretty pleased when the job was finished, but my perspective changed by day’s end. The woman who came to my house was very, very nice and friendly. But I am extremely disappointed with how few rooms were cleaned and the quality of the work as well
I should say that I picked up the entire house before they came. EVERYTHING off the counters, dressers, tables, etc. No piles anywhere. I wanted to make sure they weren’t wasting time moving tubes of toothpaste, etc. and really could just focus on CLEANING. For a variety of reasons, we had really been neglecting that and my bathrooms were in desperate need of attention (TMI? Sorry!). I had one housecleaner for 3 hours. In that time she dusted my bedroom (really, that was it … and we had removed EVERYTHING from the nightstands and dressers and made the bed … didn’t even clean the mirror on the dresser), cleaned the master 5-​piece bath, cleaned my sons’ bathroom, and cleaned the ¾-​bath on the main floor. That was it. No vacuuming, mopping, or anything else. So … 45 minutes per room. I have been able to clean the entire house in 3 hours if my husband takes our kids somewhere and I crank up some AC/​DC or Metallica, so that seems like too few rooms for the amount of time she was here. We use natural cleaning products too, so I know that sometimes they take a little more time and effort than the stuff with bleach and other chemicals, but this
But for 45 minutes per room, they should have been sparkling, right? The master bath was pretty good, except that it didn’t look like the shower basin had been cleaned. That’s what we use most so it really needed it and was a high priority to us. The bathroom cabinets weren’t wiped down either, nor was the light switch, the baseboards, and the floor wasn’t swept either. My boys’ bathroom seemed OK but again, that attention to details that the owner claims happens was not my experience. In the ¾ bath, the mirror wasn’t cleaned nor was the glass shower door, and the cabinet door wasn’t wiped down in this room either.
If I had been satisfied with the job, I definitely would have signed up. We’ve been searching for a quality eco-​friendly cleaning service to come in for a few hours once a month. This isn’t it.
I’ve noticed how the owner continues to defend on all the negative reviews, blaming everything except her company’s service, and has yet to offer a free re-​cleaning or a refund to try to make things right. So I will pre-​address a few things …
1. The owner was never at my house so I hope she doesn’t try to claim that my house was especially dirty as she has with others. Anyone who knows me will attest that even in its worst state, my house is still pretty clean.
2. I did leave a message to try to resolve this before posting a review. No one returned my call.
3. I am not a generally unhappy person. You can look at my reviews and see that I am usually quite pleased and spend way more time giving positive reviews than negatives.
4. Yes, Unilocal does filter reviews and it may actually be skewed to the negative. But one of the things they filter for are people who only have 1 or 2 reviews. Their thinking is that if a person only posts 1 review and it’s a 5-​star, it might be a friend, neighbor, or family member of the business owner, therefore it may not be as accurate as someone who doesn’t know the owne

Very disappointing.
I had seen Melissa’s comments on other people’s reviews here and wanted to respect her wishes to have people reach out to her directly. As an active participant on Unilocal for many years now, I have an appreciation for business owners who take the time to respond to people and wanted to honor that request.
I sent her an email, with pictures attached, of the numerous «dust bunnies» left behind in my house after her cleaners came through.
I am aware that 3 hours of cleaning might not be a lot of time. I have a small, one-​story bungalow style house with a finished basement (around 1500 square feet). I asked that the cleaning team focus only on the first floor to give them a reasonable task. There are two small bathrooms and two small bedrooms on this floor.
Attached to the email I sent Melissa were three images taken within the day of the cleaning. The first photo (which I added to the company’s profile) showed the clump of dust/​hair which, I assume, came off of the vacuum or a broom and was left behind by the team. I was shocked that they wouldn’t have stopped to pick it up.
The other two photos I sent were of the area behind the door in one of the bedrooms. I asked Melissa if she would agree with me that opening the door while in the room in order to clear behind the door is not a particularly rigorous or demanding task for a cleaner. I received no response to this question. She claims attention to detail is what makes the company worth the investment — but nothing about our house cleaning suggests that the employees have any regard for detail.
Finally, and perhaps most uncomfortably, one of the employees smelled of marijuana upon his arrival. What activities individuals choose to partake in during their free time is absolutely none of my business nor, quite frankly, my concern. I felt as a small business owner she should know how her employees are presenting themselves. She did not address this concern in anyway.
In all, I received no direct feedback about any my concerns — simply statements about how it is difficult to make people happy in 1.5 hours and that Unilocal is a terrible website and that I should not leave a review.
I asked Melissa that she take a look at my profile and my reviews — as you can also see, I have almost 75 reviews and less than 10 reviews total with 3 stars or less — I value giving positive feedback and supporting local businesses by telling the rest of the community how awesome they are.
I got a response from her about how «mean-​spirited» I am and that it is strange I would even think to leave a review. Call me crazy, but… isn’t that Unilocal’s purpose?
Her defensiveness, aggressiveness and lack of professionalism (not to mention numerous spelling and grammatical errors) were the nail in the coffin for this review.

Melissa, your comments on my review are insulting. I have used 5280 cleaning once — and to hint that I am a «promoter» for them is, in fact, slander. I do not take this likely. I would love to know how you «found» this information. Please feel free to reach out to 5280 Cleaning and ask for my customer records. You will find I have used them once. People on Unilocal come for helpful information. I simply provided that information as a support to my fellow Coloradans looking for a quality cleaner.

You are straight up lying, and I have reported this to Unilocal.Your comments on my and others’ reviews are bordering on the disillusion of the recent social media outburst by the owners of Amy’s Baking Company.

So, to make sure we’re all on the same page, I responded to a Living Social Deal for 3 man-​hours of house cleaning. Great, wanted to get the house spiffed up for a New Years party. After a great experience with the people on the phone, making the arrangements, and having the crew show up, I was very hopeful of a continued good experience. This is where the story all falls apart…
While the crew of 2 was on-​time and nice, their cleaning skills suffered greatly. They just didn’t do a good job. And slow. If my wife and I work non-​stop and hustle, we can do all 3 baths, kitchen, vac, dust, mop in about 2 hours. Yes, I understand, that’s 4 man-​hours. So, as we had never used a service before, my wife CLEANED the WHOLE house the day before, so as not to be ‘embarrassed’. When they got there, we simply told them to ‘clean’ the bathrooms, baseboards, kitchen, and anything else if there was time. They took every shortcut possible, didn’t clean the mirrors, didn’t dust, half-​assed the floors and didn’t touch the upstairs at all (except the baths). As noted on their website, we stripped the bed and left clean linens on the mattress for them; they failed to make the bed. So, in a nut shell, in 3 man hours, they re-​wiped down the 3 baths (no mirrors), dusted maybe ¹⁄₃ of the house, did the main floor baseboards and floors. That can be done in 90 minutes by my 15 year old son.
OK, so we pay them, give them a generous tip, and figure «oh well, it was a cheap deal, live and learn» When I get the email from Living Social to rate their service, I simply state:
«Fair job of cleaning at best. Wife and I do a much better job in half the time.»
Here is where I get furious. Their response, to which Living Social does NOT allow me to respond:
«Their home was very dirty. Although small, that house would take about 5 hours to clean it to get it caught up. He called me to complain and I offered a reasonable resolution but he just wanted something for free. I offered a discount for returning services but he said no.»

First and foremost, I NEVER contacted them about my service, I simply left my feedback. Second, I was never contacted by, nor do I WANT to be contacted by this miserable owner. I can’t even believe how someone can lie about their service in such a way that I can’t respond, and therefor am forced to respond here in this forum. This has got to be one of the most ridiculous experiences I have ever had with a company. I almost feel bad for them… I own 2 very successful companies, and I guess that taints my view on customer service; I know if I ever even thought of treating my customers the way I was treated, I would struggle and end up out of business. Well, based on the majority of reviews on here, Dust Bunnies is well on their way down this road.
I advise anyone NOT TO USE THIS SERVICE. There are so many other good companies out there… just look and you will find them. Don’t waste your time or money here. Now, based on her track record here on Unilocal,I am waiting for her canned reply that follows nearly every review…“not our fault, your house was a pig sty, we did our best, you’re an unreasonable idiot, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah…”

I’ll be honest I normally don’t review the people that clean our house, my wife does, but this time is an exception.
My wife was clear on what she wanted, and the cleaners didn’t do it. Had they spent the entire time on the bathrooms and baseboards, and done nothing else, we’d be happy. But they didn’t. That weekend my wife had to spend an hour or two doing the baseboards. They didn’t even try. A bad job woulda been one thing, the baseboards hadn’t been touched in most places.
We still have a slightly bleached part of carpet in front of the guest bathroom from whatever they slopped on the carpet. Organic? i doubt it.
The icing on the cake was the reply the owner sent to the group coupon people after my wife wrote her review. Not sure she realized it went to us as well.
«Her house was dirty. Like beyond the normal customer dirty. We got done as much as we could within the given time but it was really super bad. We don’t use anything that gives off a white caustic look as all of our stuff is organic. She left this review on Unilocal also and she never called us first to discuss this. We have worked very hard to not only build our reputation but our customer service we take seriously so I just wish she would have called us.»
Anyone who’s been to our house can confirm, while we’re not a dust free house, we’re not slobs. We tidy weekly, mop and vacuum, etc often. We hire house cleaning services in between to give us a nice super clean starting place for a few months. A nice little reset if you will. If your business is cleaning, a «Super dirty» house is a challenge to conquer not an excuse to fail.
As the customer, calling to tell you, you did a bad job isn’t our job. If Melissa cared to check she could have called and asked how her crew did, she did not. From the reviews here, she’s building a reputation for sure. With a track record like this, I’d expect a call right after they left asking how they did, make sure we’re happy, etc. Nothing. We actually used them despite the reviews to give a local business a chance. Our Bad.
I run my own business and have had to deal with upset customers, attacking and insulting them is never the right approach.
Clearly we won’t be using these folks again.

The staff is super friendly on the phone, able to work with you to set up an appointment, confirm the appointment and indicated to make sure i had a list of what it wanted done. (This was a living social deal, as some other have indicated)
I have a 1400 square foot home. Not huge, open floor plan.
The 2 cleaners that came were super friendly and when they were going to be a couple minutes late they called.
I told them my main concerns were my 3 bathrooms — 1 full with a bathtub, 1 full with a shower stall, and 1 half on the main floor. The second concern was the baseboards. Beyond that whatever else they got to was great.
It took the gal nearly the entire 1.5 hours to do the 3 bathrooms. The master bath did not have the tile walls wiped down, and she managed to get my bath mat soaked (unfortunately for me it was the new one i had just put down). All three bathrooms had some soft of bucket slop — the mater on the carpet outside of it, the second bathroom in the hall outside of that and the half bath on MY WOOD FLOORS outside of that door. I can see that buckets slop, but seriously when i have to mop after the cleaners leave cause there is a white caustic looking stain in my floors, i get a little cranky.
The baseboards. sigh. I was working in the office and i hear the gentleman say to no-​one in particular — oh my knees — i’m assuming as he starts to work on the baseboards. I really don’t need guilt for hiring someone to do the tasks i don’t want to do myself. He only worked on the baseboards on the first floor… not the second floor, nor the flight down to the garage nor up to the roof. And it wasn’t awesome, i think he simply dusted, not cleaned since there is still dirt on the baseboards.
They did not mop the floor, upon entry they indicated they would only have time to wipe it down, but whatever they did, i could see foot prints, their food prints… sigh.
Again — they were extremely friendly and personable but i’m looking for my house to be cleaned better than i can do it myself.
I can’t say i would use the service again.

I also bought a living social deal for the 3 hours of cleaning. Melissa was quick to respond to emails and set up appointments and work with my schedule. However, my one complaint was that they were over an hour late with no heads up. If I worked any other job without flexibility this would have been a major problem. BUT other than that, once Kim was there she was great. She was very sweet, extremely thorough and I felt did a great job. My bathroom sparkled. I plan to use them again in the future.

I bought a Living Social Deal for 3 hours of cleaning. I set up my appointment and was told they send 2 people for 1.5 hours of cleaning. I told them my main concern were our floors so be sure to bring a good vacuum cleaner.
They were scheduled to come at 3:30…they didn’t show up until 4:00, no call no apologies for being late.
I told them the order of what I wanted completed from most important to if there was time. I wanted focus on the carpets and linoleum of the upstairs and downstairs (our townhome isn’t big at all, mind you). I then said focus on the upstairs and downstairs bathroom, then if there was time the microwave and windows. Honestly for as small as our place is I thought with 2 people there would be more than enough time to get this done.
The guy that was doing our floors did a very good job, but about ¾ of the way done their vacuum cleaner broke and they didn’t have a backup. I told them the main reason I wanted this done is that our vacuum isn’t picking up the dog hair but they could try using ours… it didn’t work.
The only other thing I saw they completed was the downstairs bathroom, it looked good. I’m not sure what Melissa was doing with the rest of her time as after I left I thought our master bathroom would be spotless but it wasn’t. I could tell the toilet hadn’t been scrubbed and the tile on our shower hadn’t been washed.
PLUS the main reason I wanted them to come, the floors, didn’t get done. They didn’t mop any of linoleum at all.
Very disappointed in the service… definitely wouldn’t use their services again!

How dare she make a judgement about me by looking at my Unilocal page and trying to say I’m not a good business owner. Shame on her. If you look at my reviews I have pages of both very positive and negative reviews… that is what Unilocal is for, to warn others about horrible services such as Dust Bunnies. Not once did I ever state I expected my entire home cleaned in 3 hours… she is making this up, which means she is a liar and untrustworthy person also. You can read my review, I expected my floors clean, they weren’t…you would think in 3 hours 2 people could finish the #1 thing on my list. Their vacuum broke and they didn’t have anything to finish my carpet with, what type of cleaning team doesn’t have backup equipmet or supplies? They were late and never even apologized, that is very unprofessional in my book! I never asked for them to stay and clean, what I expected was for something, ANYTHING on my list to get done… it wasn’t! It was a huge rip off and the way she deals with negative reviews shows her character even though I have never even met Melissa.

I met with the owner, Melissa. She estimated my home to cost $ 150.00 for the initial clean and then $ 90.00 biweekly. She informed me that with the first clean then would go over the whole house. Do the extras like clean the window panes, blinds, baseboards, etc. She said the first clean took 5 – 6 hours and then it would be an average of 3 hours. It all sounded great. When the two cleaning ladies showed up I got the impression that they were not in the mood to work. They smirked when I told them that Melissa said it would be 5 – 6 hours they said it should only take three. They also made a remark that she forgets things or doesn’t know what she is talking about. That was a red flag for me. They didn’t respect their boss. Turns out I was right. They were only there for three hours and they didn’t do the extras that I paid for. And it didn’t look to me like it was something they just missed. They cleaned around things. Didn’t clean the tub well. The bathroom floor was still dirty. The blinds, baseboards and some of the window sills untouched. The house overall looked good. So if I didn’t pay the extra money I may have been okay with the job. Just informing them to lift up things as they clean. But I paid an extra $ 60.00. I spoke to Melissa and she seemed upset. She was willing to send someone out to cover the areas missed but instead we agreed for her to send someone else in two weeks and clean the whole house correctly. I specifically told her that I didn’t want either of the ladies that came the first time as I didn’t trust them. Two weeks later they show up 30 minutes late AND they sent one of the same ladies. I was offended that Melissa didn’t respect my request. Do I really want to trust someone alone in my home that I complained about? Someone who seemed to lack respect? I sent them away. I called Melissa but she didn’t call me back. Instead she emailed me. She said that I didn’t give her company a chance. I disagree. She said that she only had that girl available. I told her that I would have preferred that she call me to ask if I was okay with the change. I would have rescheduled. And when I asked for my $ 60.00 back of the $ 150.00 I paid for the three hours of cleaning she emailed me back saying she wouldn’t give that amount back but sent an amount that she deemed fair. And didn’t mention what that amount was. Is this someone you would trust in your home? False promises and poor customer service.
