Bill Sigler’s Lawn Service

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Beyond their wretched customer service, they do a terrible job of actually blowing out the sprinklers, because the air compressor they use isn’t powerful enough to get the job done. After speaking with them over the phone, I decided to hire another company to clean up their mess. I was shocked to see how much water was still coming out of my sprinkler heads. I was told that if the job that Bill Sigler had done had been left as is through the winter, it would have cost me at least $ 700 to fix the broken lines and heads. Their company name on the BBB is Rocky Mountain Water Conservation Concepts Corporation. Obviously, they have a score of F and are not BBB accredited. This company is completely incompetent, please call someone else.

Avoid at all costs; the worst of the worst. Go elsewhere!
The folks with Sigler’s Lawn service do not return calls or respond to customer service issues as previously reported here numerous times. It appears this company started off well but somewhere after an initial 5 star review in 2009 they started a downward skid into numerous 1 star reviews that continue to this day, and deservedly so.
SOP (standard operating procedure) seems to be collect for services and render if they feel its appropriate, in their own good time. Apparently refunds are a «no go» as well. We are out $ 75 for a service that was not provided. After numerous calls and emails, we will find another company to do business with as we have been unable to get a call back or any type of response.
They claim in their blurb for their business they want to build a clientele and «We are not looking for a one time customer but prefer to create long term satisfied repeat customers. We hope that you will give us the chance to work with you and become your service provider of choice». I say don’t. Don’t give them a chance. I did and was burned. Don’t make the same mistake. The 1 star reviews here are all valid.

These people really shouldn’t be running a lawn service company at all. They seriously have no ability to communicate with their customers — if they decide for whatever reason they can’t perform the service — don’t expect to be called/​informed. Do expect to be billed for a service that was never performed. This revew is 100% independent — I’m simply a consumer and in no way involved with a competing service etc.

Customer Service has TANKED
We first starting using Sigler’s in 2008 and their service was great, however, their customer service has declined over the last few years. Perhaps they have grown too large and cannot keep up with the demand. Their technicians seem rushed, have botched service which has resulted in the need for additional service. Add on top of that, there are challenges with getting thru to the company by email or phone– I routinely experience significant delays in their returning calls. And finally, the female customer service representative is one of the rudest I have come across– she faulted me for their technician not billing me for a specific service that resulted in damage to our sprinklers; was abrupt and condescending and then went on to tell me that I should be able to fix what they broke. She was loud and obnoxious which will have me looking elsewhere if Sigler’s cannot improve how it ineracts with customers.

I can’t get them to return any of my messages left via their online site, phone and email. Disappointing.

If you use this company and have any issues with their billing be prepared for unprofessional and rude customer service from the owner Jodi. Also be prepared for them to run charges through your credit card without your permission.
I was pleased with the sprinkler service provided but when I had a billing issue that I needed clarification on Jodi blew up at me and told me to take my business elsewhere. She told me she did not want to speak with me again and to go away.
So I will pay what I think I owe them and go away.

We just bought our first house last May and needed help with winterizing our sprinkler system. We found Bill Sigler’s flier on our door and their prices seemed reasonable for a sprinkler system blowout. We thought everything was fine, until we went to turn the water on last week and the pipe in our garage, directly connected to our sprinkler system, had a huge crack in it! I called Bill Sigler’s to explain the situation. They said they could come out and check it (weeks later), but it would cost $ 70 if the issue wasn’t their fault. (Of course, it wouldn’t be their issue, and then I’d be out another $ 70.) I asked for my $ 40 back for the sprinkler blowout, since it obviously had not worked. The woman on the phone was very rude and told me they would never do that. I told her I would take my business elsewhere and let others know to be wary of this company.
On top of everything else, we need landscaping work done, and about a month ago had one of their landscape people out to create a plan for our backyard — before we knew about the sprinkler issue. Four weeks later and we still haven’t heard back from them. To think I was going to give their company more money! Shame on Bill Sigler’s for poor customer service.

Very poor service, very poor quality of work. I spent $ 300 three weeks ago on an aeration, power rake and fertilizer. They did a total slop job, it took 4 guys about 20 minutes, and I have a half acre yard. After they left, I walked the yard and found absolutely no sign of aeration — no holes in the grass, no little’plugs’ left behind. And, no evidence of fertilizer applied at all. Now, three weeks later, weeds are all over the yard. Don’t use them, spend your money somewhere else. Trust me.

Like many individuals I was treated like a child by the owner as well. I used B.S. to power rake, aerate and fertilize my lawn and they smashed one of my sprinkler heads. When I called in to tell them there was an issues, she told me they didnt do it and its my own responsibility to fix. I do not recommend, poor customer service.

I got home and found their flyer on my door today so I called and asked them not to since we have no soliciting signs all over the place. I talked to Jodie who said she was the owner. She was extremely rude and yelled and then hung on me.
Like an idiot I thought she might care about her company’s reputation so I called back and she was even more rude. I’m guessing this is how she would be with customers who might have a problem.
I highly doubt they have 18,000 customers like she said in her mean spirited reply to the other review.
This is all in my opinion of course.

I know I should let this go and move on, especially since I no longer live in Denver and have no use for their service but I cannot sit by and have a slanderous comment be posted in a public forum by someone who is clearly unprofessional.
Nothing in my post was a lie and I am shocked that she would slander a customer in a public forum. The reason she had to post a reply to my initial comment a year later was because Unilocal took down her prior unprofessional rants, even one in which she copied and pasted an email reply that, by her own email signature, was to be confidential. I guess its OK to break your own policy if you are desperate.
For the record, I did not use her service for 3 years. I bought the house in the Fall of 2008 and before I even moved to the state, we had them blow out the sprinklers because we wouldn’t be there before the first freeze was going to happen. We had our real estate agent take care of marking the sprinkler heads and he turned off the water, etc. since we couldn’t do it. The following Fall of 2009, I called to request their service again, but since I wasn’t the one that marked the sprinklers and did whatever needed to be done to the water lines the prior year, I had asked that they let me know when they would be there so they could show me what needed to be done. They never called me back and just showed up unannounced before I could mark the sprinkler heads prior to the aeration. As a result, one of the sprinkler heads was broken by the aerator. As any homeowner would do, I called them back to let them know about it and asked that they fix it. Weeks, then months went by without a return call and I was starting to become unhappy at the complete lack of response, even outside of the «busy» season. The following Spring they finally came out to fix the sprinkler head — for free. After that, I did not ask for anything else to be done for free as Jodi falsely accuses me of. I am absolutely not the type of person that expects to get things free. Only in situations of miscommunication as happened the prior Fall. We may have had a few more repairs done throughout the summer of 2010, which were done well and we had no complaints. When I called to schedule the Fall blowout service in the Fall of 2010 she said that they would not service my lawn because we had asked that they fix was the broke the prior year for free. When I emailed the owner to find out why they wouldn’t service our lawn and tried to figure out what had happened –other than the fact they wouldn’t return my calls, wouldn’t work with me as a new homeowner to learn how to prepare everything prior to their service and apparently became upset when I asked them to come out to fix what their crew had broken– she became very rude and defensive. At that point, I felt it was in the public’s best interest to know what kind of unprofessional company they were dealing with, which is the point of a service such as Unilocal.When Sigler’s wouldn’t service my lawn, I got a referral for another service from a friend of mine and the owner came out himself to go over everything with me and he showed me what needed to be done ahead of his crew coming out to blow out my sprinkler system. The complete opposite of the service I received from Sigler’s. I no longer have that person’s business card, but I would gladly promote their company’s service publicly.
So, for the record, I did not do business with Sigler’s for 3 years prior to writing my post and I did not expect free repairs done for anything outside of what they had broken on their previous visit.
Even though I no longer live in Colorado, I do not want unsuspecting people moving into the area — especially from locations where lawn watering systems are not common (i.e. Seattle) — to experience what I did. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had and it was with the person who should place customer service above everything else — one of the owners. Extremely sad. Especially that she has to attack customers and twist facts a year after a negative post to try to save face because her previous rants and attacks were withdrawn by Unilocal.I felt I needed to set the record straight so no one would be mislead by her false sense of what happened.

Completely incompetent. After having scheduled my aeration over a week ago, I called to find out if I was still on the schedule. I was told that my yard might still be done by the end of that day (Saturday), but that it might be Sunday. This after an entire week of waiting, and hoping my yard would be done each day. I asked why their company not only charged almost twice as much as others, but also was the only one that could not tell me what day of the week they would be out. They responded that the other companies were run by ‘people who were accountants last week, but no longer have jobs.’ I wanted to respond back with the fact that aerating my lawn was not rocket science, and I would rather have someone as intelligent as an accountant working my lawn vs. anyone they might hire.
Because I don’t trust these individuals from missing my sprinkler heads, I had my entire front and back yard flagged. (Which I’m sure my neighbors loved looking at for a week) Also, we have dogs with access to the back yard via dog doors, so those had to be shut — which made getting home a priority each day. All of this while I watched my neighbors yards get finished within days of calling other companies, and knowing which day it would be done for $ 20 less than what I paid.
A week later — the exact same scenario played out in waiting for my sprinklers to be blown out. After calling early in the week with the above issue, I was told if I wanted to be called ahead with the scheduled day, that it would push it to the end of the week. The individual on the phone then threatened that with the impending freeze on Wednesday of that week that my system WOULD suffer damage, not maybe. Sure enough — the sprinkler blow out did not take place again until Sunday of that week, and although I can’t prove it, I have suspicions that I was scheduled for that day because I questioned their «expertise».
Bill Sigler will not see another dime of my money, and I will make sure others avoid them as well.

I am not behind on any payment, but thanks for implying that may be the reason for my review.

This is your one-​stop lawn winterizing shop (and spring-​erizing)… now they added an online ordering feature that makes life even easier. I’ve been using Bill Sigler’s for a couple years now, once in the fall and once in the spring. They aerate, fertilize and blow out the sprinklers… I’m sure they do much more, but that’s the extent of what I have used them for.
Their rates are very competitive and job they do is professional and prompt. I usually wait and call at the last minute (before they added their online ordering) and they were always able to get me scheduled for an appointment either later in the week or first thing the next week. The staff is courteous, competent and accommodating. They usually come during the day, and the best part is, is that you don’t have to be at home when they do. They give you detailed instructions on what you need to do to get ready, and they leave you a bill… Convenience seems to be such a rarity these days, but if you go with Bill Sigler’s that’s exactly what you get! 5 stars… easily.
