You don’t see many video stores around these days, and in 36 years, I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a combination video store /dollar store /head shop. Yet, there I was. Personally, I could have gone without my five year-old stopping to admire the brightly colored pipes and bongs«for tobacco use only» in the glass case immediately adjacent to the row of kids’ movies. I thought putting the rolling papers on the opposite endcap really punctuated the less-than-thoughtful layout. Call me a prude. It’s cool. The selection wasn’t what I’d call«extensive», especially when it comes to BluRay, but the prices were certainly cheap. 3 new releases for five bucks? That’s not bad. Overall, the vibe in this place was really, really strange. Almost like the video store actually closed five years ago, and the people running it were actually squatters.
