This review is for the esthetician Sabrina. I have been going to her for almost 3 years now. I had very troubled skin and had tried many other places for facials and micros but never got the results I was looking for. I was referred to her by a coworker that too had nothing much great things to say. All I can say is that Sabrina works miracles. I live downtown in Chicago and drive all the way to see her because she is absolutely the best. I refer all of my friends/family to her and after they see her they are hooked like I am! After many, many years of struggling with my skin I finally found someone that actually made a significant difference. Props to Sabrina! :)

I’ve been coming here for years and think that it’s time I give a review. This place is awesome. Great staff that uses high end products(Aquage, Pureology, Aveda, etc). They have good hours and are extremely flexible. I am very much a «same-day-appointment» type of girl and they have always been able to accommodate me! They always have at least 3 – 5 stylists on the floor, so someone is almost always available to do a cut, color or treatment. I always get my waxes done here too, when I’m in the area. They do a great job. Oh, and they have free wifi! Whenever getting my makeup done for a special occasion, I always get Ora. She is the BEST with makeup. Whenever I go in for a facial, I get Sabrina. She is such a sweetheart and her facials are so relaxing and therapeutic. She even puts essential oils in the room to help open up my sinuses. Danya has always done a great job with my hair too. I love their deep conditions! I love how they just treat you like family here. They really get to know you and remember you once you’ve gone there a few times, which I love. I can go on and on about this place and how wonderful it is, but you should just go try it yourself. Once you go, you’ll be hooked!

I’ve been a customer at The Scissori for a long time. Before the move, I would’ve given them a near perfect rating. Since they moved to the new location though, I can’t say things have changed for the better. They moved a few doors down the street and seem to have forgotten where they came from. What was a friendly, reasonable salon with some great stylists has ended up just another snobby wanna be high end place that’s simply raised their prices and their noses. My first visit to the new location was to bring my daughter in for a haircut. I went to the back with her as I normally would but found there was nowhere besides the stylists chairs to sit. After standing there a bit awkward for a minute I was informed they now discourage anyone from being in the back if you’re not receiving a service(i.e. go wait in the front). So I can’t wait with my five year old while she gets a haircut? Big points knocked off there on snobbish. Well aside from being totally annoyed at that I was also stuck sitting in the very poorly designed waiting area obviously not designed for any kind of long term waiting. The couch has no back so there’s no way to sit comfortably and there’s no shade on the floor to ceiling front windows. These may seem like minor details, but trust me if you’re stuck there waiting for any period of time it’s migraine inducing to sit uncomfortably AND with the sun directly in your eyes… which they should consider if this is now the only available waiting space. Anywho, I went back to get my hair done a few weeks later and was amazed at the hike in prices. I actually had a gift certificate that someone purchased for me. When it was purchased, she asked the price of my last service there and got the certificate for that PLUS a 15% tip. When I came back for the service, my usual stylist wasn’t available but I had to have something done because I had a wedding to go to so I said a junior stylist was ok. I got what I normally got from my senior stylist. I tipped her a small amount(knowing that there was already a tip included in the certificate AND figuring there would be extra on top of that because it should not be as expensive as my senior stylist) and went to pay in front with the gift card. I was about to tell the receptionist to give the remaining balance to the stylist when she informed me that not only was there nothing leftover on the card but that I owed an additional $ 30. Whaaaa!!! Now I can’t tell you exactly how much it went up because I don’t remember exactly what I always pay and I sometimes buy extras that throw it off, but I always spend well over $ 100 on just the service. So prices went up enough to eat up the 15% tip, AND add an additional $ 30…and this is with a junior stylist?! I cringe to think of what it would’ve been with my regular stylist. It breaks my heart to say it because I LOVE my regular stylist but after years of being loyal, I’m not digging the new vibes here. I’m on a mission for a new salon.

I like the woman, Ora, who does the eyebrow waxing, she is a genius! My brows never looked so good! And she does hair now :-) I have always had a good cut from the stylists there and never walked away regretting it. They give you a free shampoo at your birthday. That is nice.
