Gotta give another 5 stars. It’s been a while since I have been in but I am never disappointed. Chris has some up with something new again. He s calling it the love roll with pomegranate apple sauce on top. I don’t know, or care what is in it, all I can say is it is delicious. You must order this…

This place is amazing ! So sad I didn’t find it sooner! Fish is fresh! Sushi chef Chris is amazing and so friendly! We love sitting at the sushi bar and letting him create us our favorite rolls while making good conversation! Their seared tuna is spicy and mouth watering! Everything we have had is delicious and all their food is worth every penny! We’re definitely going to become regulars!

My first experience wasn’t good at all but with how many amazing reviews there are I feel like I need to give it another try. My boyfriend and I ditched out usual sushi joint and came here a couples hours before he had to work. It was around 7 and we were seated immediately but all other tables were pretty filled. It took is awhile to get our drinks and I appreciated that to speed things up she asked if we wanted any appetizers out before we started filling our all you can eat menu. When we do ACE we do a couple rolls, appetizer, and sashimi. I am used to ALWAYS getting sashimi first since it’s the easiest to make– my bf and I wait and wait and to no luck we never got the sashimi, instead we waited awhile for tools to finally roll in. My goodness, these rolls are made HUGE. So much rice and huge cuts– I was disappoint how full I got so quick give I hadn’t eaten all day! We usually do two rounds and could barely finish the first from all the filling rice. Around 8 we were done with amour appetizers and rolls– still no sashimi. It’s time to leave to get my be to work and once we ask for our check I notice the sushi chef looking over at our table irritated, called the waitress over, and begins to complain Infront of is about how he was making our sashimi. I honestly assumed given the amount of time we waited that it was forgotten, when he explained we were full he literally tossed the sushi back down onto the Prel station and slammed the plate back. Upon getting my check it was pretty large– dinner here is 26, more than any I’ve been to, and if the price of my sushi is going to be more I would really hope that no one trying to cut corners with slot of rice and big rolls :(, The ambience was amazing and I could tell the waiters were trying to keep up a good pace, but it wasn’t an experience I wanted for my first time there:

I don’t live in the area anymore but I’m here to see family and felt like eating sushi for dinner. Sushi Mac was always one of my favorite places, but damn the prices skyrocketed to point that the sushi isn’t even worth the quality that you’re paying for. 3 rolls for $ 50…outrageous! This isn’t Sugarfish! I feel that because it’s one of the better sushi places in Highland they are taking advantage of their loyal customers. I won’t be coming back here and I’ll be telling my family not to come here, and my friends who still live out here should not come back here. There are far better places in Redlands and it’s only an extra 5 minute drive.

This sushi joint rocks! We’re surprised the ratings here on Unilocal is just mediocre because this place deserves a 4.5÷5 stars!(Perhaps it’s the management in the past, and some of these low ratings don’t belong to the current chef Chris). My husband and I LOVE Chris and his creations. His partners/co-sushi chefs have not been as successful and he has a new co-sushi chef there now, Eddie. He made one of our usual nigiri special for us instead of Chris, and Chris still does it better. I don’t know if there’s anyone that can replace him. Our favorites are the Double Spice and Mexican roll. Chris works very hard, long days, and works 6 days every week. His awesome creations, diligence, and superb management deserves every dollar earned in this place, and we make sure to tip him well during each of our visit.

I really use to like this place but the prep of the sushi has gone downhill. The sushi rolls are sloppily prepared. The sauces in the rolls are overdone To top it off .we ordered wine and they served the red wine cold… it was watery! We tried to tell them that red wine is not served cold but they didn’t listen. Nor did they care or offer to open a bottle of wine. They also told us the red wine did not have a brand label of a winery and it was a house wine. Hmmm I am suspicious it’s a cheep wine like a two buck chuck wine that they are overcharging for. Beware! I can no longer recommend this place.

Love this place! Go and sit at the sushi bar and talk to Chris, I love the rainbow roll and crunch roll. The sashimi is really good and fresh. Reasonably price for some dank sushi. 5 stars! We will definitely be back more often than not. Thanks for the great experience Chef Chris!

Went here today. This place is great! Good sushi the rolls are big and full of flavor. The price is also great for great sushi it’s a deal. I gave this place 4 stars only because they don’t serve free edamame or miso soup. But other then that it’s a great place for sushi. Oh and the set up is really cute.

Out of the four adults in our party, none of us were impressed with the taste or quality of the sushi. We tried 5 different rolls, and only one roll was decent. The rice is not true sticky rice, and the cut rolls are way too big to eat without making a scene. The service was fair, but not good. I wouldn’t return or recommend Sushi Mac to anyone else.

We didn’t even eat here, but here is the reason for the 1 star: We were a party of 3, there was only 1 sushi chef and 1 waitress working. We walked in and the place had about 7 people at the sushi bar and 3 tables of people. 1 table had 4 people, 1 had 1 adult and 1 child, the last table had 1 person. When we walked in a sign told us to wait to be seated, which is fine, however we were not greeted as in other sushi bars with a hello or a just a minute or a we’ll be right with you. The restaurant was very quiet and very warm inside. By the time the waitress acknowledged us we had decided to go to Miguel’s Sushi in Colton. The sushi may be good here, but I don’t know, however atmosphere, attention to customers and an up beat mood goes a long way to making a customer feel comfortable enough to eat here.

Service is always friendly and prompt. Chris is a creative Sushi Chef that is attentive to quality and has a good memory for your preferences. I cant remember when he took over but Sushi Mac has greatly improved since he started. Pay not attention to old reviews prior to Chris. I come here often, eat sushi often all around — you will enjoy.

This place is there when I need to get my sushi fix. The sushi is good so far I’ve only been a few times so I’m still getting to the feel for it. I tried the baked mussels which were ok I’ve had better. The sushi is pretty good, tried the baked lobster roll that was yummy. It is a small place, but clean and nice style. I want to go back and try more options, one of the few places I’ve liked here in San Bernardino for sushi.
