Pet friendly value near New Paltz! Compared to motels in New Paltz, this was the cleanest, quietest, and best value. Building seems new or newly renovated. Nice, quiet digital radiator/a/c unit, woodsy out back for the pooch to run around, and breakfast was a step up from the other motels in new paltz(with toaster waffles, Activia yogurt). Nice pool table at the front, beer and wine sold at the front desk and lots of good delivery and take out menus available.(Gunks Haus is delicious german style with homemade bread). Friendly desk staff, just ring the bell if you need anything at all. Our total with taxes came to $ 70/night.

Sorry to say the manager never did credit my card for even the 3 nights she said she would. Very dissatisfied.

I booked my reservation through expedia, paid full amount, got double charged, when I called the hotel to get the second charge back, they lied!!! they said they had no double charge to call expedia and figure it out with them. Poor service! buyers beware!

I just want to preface this review, this is a budget motel so do not have luxury expectations. However, I could not have had a better stay! My boyfriend and I wanted a «touristy» weekend stay in the Hudson Valley and the Super 8 was in an ideal location for the attractions we wanted to see(Vanderbilt, FDR) at an ideal price. It is located on route 9 with easy access to «Bagels and Bites» café for a quick, reasonably priced, and tasty breakfast. You do need to cross the Mid-Hudson bridge and pay a toll(EZ Pass: 1.25, Cash: 1.50) each time to get to Hyde Park, but the total is still comparable to the price of the hotels in the town center. The super 8 has plenty of parking and multiple entrances so you do not need to cart your luggage around to the front door. The front desk service was friendly and efficient. There was pizza and liquor offered at a price, but this is a budget motel so let’s just say I would explore your options and not just sacrifice for the sake of convenience. The room was simple, but accommodating. We stayed in a non-smoking room. I was a little wary at first because the halls do smell like smoke, but it does not carry into the rooms. The room was clean and there were towels and toilet paper. The mattress was surprisingly comfy. The sheets and blanket were thin and a bit worn, but clean. The coffee and cable were a nice touch. However, the hidden gem of this motel is the wifi. It is free and super fast! A YouTube video loaded in seconds. We had multiple devices streaming videos without any interruptions. Awesome win! Overall, if you need a place with no frills to catch some sleep, come to Super 8!

Clean, good water pressure and a shower head fit for people over 6’1. This is what I judge by. Affordable and a nice place overall. Couch bed wasn’t that great, but over all not a bad place.

I have stayed at many Super 8s around the US over the years, but this one is a disappointment. Pros: 1. Plenty of parking. 2. Bed is extremely comfortable and bedding is modern and soft. 3. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Cons: 1. «Sofabed» that would allow the room to sleep«6» people is really just a «Loveseatbed» that barely fits one of our ten year olds. We happened to have sleeping bags with us and one of the twins volunteered to sleep on the floor. 2. Breakfast is meager(cereal with empty milk pitcher, «OJ» that’s more like orange kool-aid, white/wheat bread you can toast, oatmeal packets, fruit, prepackaged cinnamon rolls and coffee.) I didn’t see any restocking or cleaning either of the two mornings. 3. Breakfast is 6:00 to 10:00 — at 7:25 we went to get some coffee and what came out of the thermos was stone cold. It must have been yesterday’s. At 8:30 I returned for more coffee and all of the thermos pots were empty. Overall, it’s not a bad place IF you don’t take breakfast into consideration and don’t have 4 kids with you. They do sell wine and beer at the front desk and there is a coin operated pool table in the lobby. A sign on the door indicates that they are pet friendly. Tip: NOT Super 8’s fault at all… you cannot make a left turn into the parking lot, nor are you allowed to make a u-turn at the nearby traffic light. Turning left gets you onto the NY Thruway with nowhere to turn around safely. You need to turn RIGHT at the traffic light and u-turn in the park and ride lot, then you can turn left at the light, enabling you to get into the parking lot.

If you’re the type of person that I am(I like to go out all day while on vacation and just want to go back to a motel to rest, research the next day’s itinerary, and perhaps do a little work), this motel provides great value for your money and is located right off a main route. The staff is super friendly on the phone and in person. If you ask them what’s going on in the area or ask specific questions, they are very knowledgeable and helpful. Looking at previous reviews, it looks like the rooms have been updated since and look relatively newish and are in great condition. However, the hallway smells of smoke as there are some smoking rooms and perhaps damage from the heyday when it was all smoking, I would suppose. They have a business center with a printer and computer, free WiFi, lots of vending machines, and booze. Free continental breakfast is quite limited so don’t expect much. We really liked our room. The king size bed was comfortable and we had a ginormous room with a couch, mini fridge and microwave. They have a large parking lot that includes free parking. Although we had a few minor issues during our stay, the management and housekeeping staff was quite receptive and adjusted our rates without our asking for it. It was really appreciated and it’s refreshing to have down to earth staff that is upfront and honest.

I recently stayed at the Highland Super 8 while in the New Paltz /Gardiner area for business. From the outside, this Super 8 appears to be relatively new, and decently maintained. Front desk staff got me checked in and squared away in a pleasant and quick fashion. Offered for sale in the lobby are individual pizzas, wine and beer. My standard King room was fairly well worn, walls had spots, paint patches, a strong musty smell, all pretty standard for a motel room in this price range. The king mattress was an extremely uncomfortable inner spring design which caused various areas of numbness in my arms and back throughout the night. I had reserved two nights but decided to check out after the first night due to the mattress. As is typical with most Super 8 motels, the amenities are a bit underwhelming. The bathroom had two bars of soap, shampoo(no conditioner). Overall this motel is fine if you are on a budget; it will probably be what you are expecting. Personally, I could not rationalize subjecting my back to the abuse for more than one day.

Located on 9W, slightly north of the little town of Milton, is this rather large Super 8. The lobby is spacious with a nice waiting area equipped with TV and lounge chairs. As in all Super 8 motels, the rooms Are equipped with small ironing board, Iron(on demand), small blowdryer, Coffee machine and Wi-Fi connection. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There’s nothing overly special about the hotel or the room. I just had good service and the room was bigger than I thought it was going to be… especially since it was only about $ 100 for the night. Of all the local hotels, this is the one to choose.
