Description

History

Established in 1930.

Highland Park was incorporated in 1913 and the Town Hall opened in 1924. The residents of the new Town enjoyed concerts, performances, art exhibits and many forms of educational experiences, but lacked a library. In 1929 a group petitioned the Town to add an extension to the Town Hall to house a library, art gallery and council chambers. The Library opened in 1930 and has been enjoyed ever since.

This place is great! A nice atmosphere with computers, magazines, books, movies, etc. the librarians also are very helpful and kind! They have an awesome collection of books and speedy Internet. It’s in a beautiful building that was recently re done. Overall a great spot!

You are greeted by librarians upon entering. It’s a gorgeous library worth exploring. Free wifi, a few computers, and some cushy chairs to hunker down in while reading a newspaper or book… or taking a cat nap
As I left, a librarian actually told me, «come back soon.» I most definitely will!

If you arrive here it’s probably via a ticket by the Highland Park police, and this place serves as a decent waiting room.
The book selection gears toward the fluffy: a biography of Tina Fey, Gardening, Southwestern design style guidebooks, and international travel books represent a nice swatch of this small bland collection.
