Chelsea’s Beads Division of Smart Creations

I took some out of town guests there to make some bracelets. There were 4 of us wanting to make bracelets. The staff could not have been less helpful. Such a disappointing experience. I live in highland park but unfortunately will have to start going somewhere else to bead.

Am always pleasantly surprised by my finds at Chelsea’s. Lots of variety and staff is generally very helpful. Pricing is on par for what they offer.

Use to be my go to place for supplies. NOT anymore! Experienced the WORST customer service from lazy and indifferent saleswomen. One busy playing with her phone, one ignoring my request for help, and the third too lazy to stand up and show me where I could find what I needed. It’s all about customer service ladies. That’s your job. Luck for them they aren’t my employees. They’d be looking for jobs today.

The staff was not helpful and snotty for overpriced items. Would not recommend.

It is almost impossible to make an erroneous purchase at Chelsea’s Beads. There are strands after strands of striking items. It truly must be where beads go when they die. I really fancied the impressive gemstone selection which had oodles of kinds of stones and in myriad cuts. Thus it’s easy for the guest to fin a particular item they are looking for or be inspired by a random piece that would look lovely in a project. I like the different agates, amethysts, various quartz, jaspers, fluorite, amber… but there’s a bunch of stones.
I am arty and crafty (I’ve made jewelry but i also can use beads to embellish stuff) so really like this place. They offer sales often and have classes (1 on 1 or group). I don’t know if they allow dogs since George was at my parents while I was on errands. My mom has 2 macaws (giant talking tropical birds) and when they saw the tiny fluffy dog zooming around they kept saying «hi little bird» and calling him a strange black bird. Lol, first crow that barks? Anyways…
The fire’s in my eyes and my words are really clear so BEAD it!
