Jilly’s Cafe & Steakhouse

Service was good, food was ok. Not great not bad. Prices are a bit high considering the décor. It’s a bit run down. Decent enough place though.

I don’t really feel like I can write an in-​depth review because I have only been here once, and just experienced the resturant side, not the bar side, but yeah, the food is not that good. The saving grace about this place is the service. They had really great service. Our waitress was sweet and did a really good job dealing with our party of 8. We mainly went there because someone had a groupon. I don’t think anyone was overly impressed by any means. I don’t think I would come back.

Went to Jilly’s for the first time yesterday 08/​08/​2015 for my birthday. Decided to try Jilly’s instead of going to the Cheesecake Factory. With all the tax free holiday and anniversary of Michael Brown I wanted to stay away from the city and spend my money in Jefferson County. Jilly’s is not to be compared to Cheesecake Factory… but I will tell you my husband and I were very, very happy we went. Forget about the reviews you read about slow service and anything else said on the negative side. My first impression was «WOW» this place is huge! Very nice to have a banquet or large meeting. Nicely decorated as well. I went over to the bar side and told the bartender we would like to have dinner. We went over to the dining side and there was only one other small group of people dining. Now keep in mind my husband does not like crowds and eating DINNER at 3:00 P.M. is the norm for him. The other party left and we had the whole place to ourselves. YAY! Husband liked it that way. So at 3:00 P.M. we order an appetizer and I order a strawberry daiquiri. The bartender brought over my drink and it was just OK… probably because I had just brushed my teeth. He asks how I like it and I said it was «OK» he comes back and gives me extra strawberry flavoring and it was perfect. What a nice thing to do… he wanted to make sure it was just what I wanted. Our appetizer came and it was unbelievable I mean fabulous… we ordered the Calamari and had our Caesar Salad to enjoy with it. I ordered the Rib Eye and Baked Potato, my husband ordered the Beef/​Steak Medallions. We were already so full from just the appetizer and salad. The entrée of steak and potato was melt in your mouth delicious. We would have liked a little bit of bread but the presentation made us forget about bread. I asked our bartender/​waiter what his name was and he replied Ryan. Well Ryan I hope you read this because you are truly an awesome guy who went over and above the call of duty to make sure our visit was nothing but perfect. We had a discussion about all the reviews I had read about slow service from the waitresses and he said they have had a talk with the wait staff in regards to people posting negative comments. He said service should be much better for others now. But really if you think about it… GOOD HELP is very hard to find. Some people just have the «really don’t want to work attitude“any more. And if that’s the case you fire and re-​hire someone who wants to work. But easier said than done. Again good help is very hard to find and when you do have a good worker like this Ryan do what ever you can to make them happy and keep them. We really enjoyed our visit and we will be back… we were there at 3:00 and out by 4:00 P.M. not bad for what people say is slow service. This is the way we like it… in and out in an hour!!! Hope you try this place! Yes we had leftovers to take home… portions are great.

Went for lunch today with 6 other friends. There was only one other party, although it was a group of about 8 men. There were highs and lows. The service was extremely slow. It didn’t take too long to order but the food took forever to come. I had the buffalo chicken wings and they weren’t that good (even with the extra sauce I had them bring) but my salad was wonderful. Their sweet Italian vinaigrette dressing was terrific. Two friends got the grouper and said it was really good. Another friend got the fried chicken wrap and liked it a lot. One complained that the bread on her reuben sandwich was too hard. I’ve been here before and I guess it just depends on what you order. I know the pizza is great. They could speed things up a bit.

Always alot of fun! The restaurant side is great for special occasions and the bar side is wonderful for just everyday hanging out! The staff and patrons really do make you feel like family there!

Jilly’s could get 10 stars if I could give it. The atmosphere was very nice. Great place for a business dinner or a nice date night. I loved the front entrance and patio areas .
Service was too notch. Drinks always filled, was very patient and explained the menu well. Could not have asked for better .
On to the food …
The App, Spinach artichoke dip with chips. Very good. The dip was full of spinach and artichoke. Tasted home made. Out of the world good.
Main corse, I got the beef Wellington. It was melt in your mouth good. Done very well. It was a tad over cooked but the flavor was superb. I got the mushroom risotto, and spinach salad as sides. The dressing on the salad was great, really brought the onion and pecans. The risotto was perfect .
My partner in crime got the chicken Spedinnii. I got to taste it and it was wonderful. It was paired with a spinach salad (which I just reviewed) and a sea salt crusted baked potato. The potato was nice and fluffy and wonderful .
I will be returning, probably a detriment to my waste line .
The menu had a lot to offer and prices were not out of line for that quality of service and food.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I have probably spent way too much time on the bar side, and had a lot of good times. I have thrown parties here in the private rooms, had large group dinners on the restaurant side, and spent a few New years eves here as well. Its the service here that kills me. The bartenders are all pretty good, and you almoat never have an empty glass. On the restaurant side, however, look out. The servers just can’t keep it together. I had a xmas eve dinner ruined by one waitress, and a new years eve dinner that was just bad. I emailed both times about the poor service, but never got a response. The food is always great, but I recommend eating on the bar side.

Went for the first time with my husband for dinner. Service was alright (a little slow), appetizer was very good (spinach dip). Dinner was where we had some good and then some bad. He had a ribeye and loved it, I had a flat iron steak and it was terribly chewy and had a bad flavor. All in all I would go back to give it another chance for the café menu, but defiantly not the steak.

Still same poor management and quality, sorry this isn’t SAMs steakhouse so stop charging reticules prices

This was the third time that my husband and I attempted to have a pleasant meal here. If you don’t mind slow service, even when you are the only ones in the dinning area and can see the wait staff socializing; and slower service if they are prepping rooms for larger parties by all means go here to kill the day. The food is mediocre at best. We were fooled the first time into thinking that it was good. This time we went for a late breakfast, we were the only ones in the dinning area, my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich with extra bacon, and he the sandwich was lucky to have one and a half slices. To top it off, when we tried to get the attention of our waitress, we were ignored while the wait staff laughed and took pictures of each other. After this experience we will not be back, there are too many other restaurants out there with better food and more attentive wait staff deserving of a tip.

This place deserves five stars for the food alone. The service is typically stellar (servers do take their time) and exceptionally friendly.
This is the best sit-​down restaurant by a mile in the Fenton High Ridge area. Beats out any corporate owned facility. Dinner will cost roughly 20/​plate, but they make the experience worth your while.
Additionally, the sides are tasty and the bread pudding dessert is not to be missed! A great local dinner spot, I will surely return.

I am always pleasantly surprised with the food at Jilly’s! Had dinner there last night with 6 others and we were constantly saying mmm try this, try this. Everyone ordered something different and all enjoyed. It is not cheap, but it is, compared to others with the same quality or even less!

I went here for happy hour, decently priced beers and apps.

Awesome steak, awesome sides. They do it right. Cooked perfectly.

Good food and good bread pudding been it a long time shine I been year or 2 but good food

Great food… service is a little slow many times but I have never been disappointed in the food. Pan Seared Talapia is amazing!

Way overpriced. Mediocre food. Cut the prices by a third, and it’s more in line with where it should be.
