Truliant Federal Credit Union

David M’s review had me worried until I saw him working at High Point Bank and Trust (which he conveniently gave a 5 star review to before trashing Truliant with his bogus conspiracy theories).
This is the best bank I’ve been a member of. I’ve always been treated well and with respect. They don’t charge BS fees for keeping your money here like other local banks (*cough* Wells Fargo-BB&T-High Point Bank *cough*).
I started with a basic checking and savings account here, and now have my auto loan and credit card here too. The rates are low and fair. They also have a cool skip-​a-​pay service for your loans where you can skip a monthly payment once each year if you need it. I haven’t used it yet, but it’ll come in handy with my upcoming wedding.
If you have the chance to work with Vincent, do it. The guy is awesome.

I would stay away from Truliant at all costs. I think they have broken the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 that makes it unlawful for any creditor to discriminate against any applicant, with respect to any aspect of a credit transaction, on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, or age (provided the applicant has the capacity to contract.) My wife bought a $ 45,000 automobile and wanted to finance $ 5000 for one year. Both of our credit scores are in the 800. In fact her score is higher than mine. They have come up with some lame excuse for not giving her the loan unless I am on the loan papers and even on the title and registration.
Unfortunately, my wife doesn’t seem to care if she is a victim of the war on women. Once she started the loan process with them, there was no changing her mind. Companies like this get away with breaking the law because they feel that customers won’t go after them because of the cost. What they don’t realize is that there are other ways of getting the message out.
A HUGE WARNING – THIS COMPANY IS HIGHLY UNETHICAL

I have been a member of Truliant for over a year, but I have recently started using the account. Everyone seems to be very nice, and I love being able to maintain accounts with no monthly fees. I am still a little scared to go totally with this bank, and leave Bank of America– but I will get there !
The only complaint that I have is the drive thru. It is VERY slow… if 2 cars are ahead of you — it could be a 20 minute wait. I will continue to build my relationship with Truliant, but I’m hoping they get that that drive-​thru to run more effieciently!
