First thing I noticed after entering the store is the large selection they have. There are A LOT of tanks with many different fish. There is a good selection of freshwater fish and plants here. I didn’t see any interesting fish that I wanted but I don’t want to take that away from the store because the selection is pretty good and they have more rare/​un-​common fish than I’ve seen in other fish stores.
Also the owner seemed nice; I was looking for a certain plant which I didn’t see on the main floor… he took the time to check the basement to see if they had more. He didn’t find it but he offered to get some in for me the following week. Good service.

I’ve been to my fair share of Long Island and queens lfs and this is definitely one of the better places. Great selection of fish and aquatic plants. I’ve dealt with most of the employees or proprietors at one point or another and they are all perfectly pleasant and knowledgable. I don’t know what other people are saying. When I was buying a 5 gallon setup for my betta he even threw in a plant just because he didn’t have much in that day. I plan on coming here to stock my 55 gallon.

Just got a great deal on a fresh water fishtank setup here. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable they helped me pick out the perfect tank for my situation and gave me step by step instructions on the set up. I was amazed how large their selection on fish are, both Fresh and salt water. Their prices were very fair, so much so, that we may be looking into putting a small pond in the back yard too.

The place is amazing. Walking around and looking at all the selection of fish and aquarium plants I was excited. The staff was all friendly and welcoming and answered all of my questions. There was a young man who was extremely helpful and Yes the older lady was a little rude but put on your big boy pants and stop crying. Get it and go. I’m not there to make friends. They had the best buy far the aquarium plant selection I’ve seen on long Island. The fish were all healthy and looked taken care of. Not overly priced at all. The same as everyone else. People want shit for free. you want good quality then head over there I’ll be back.

The staff here is about as friendly as a chainsaw. Especially the older lady who works here; I will not shop here again specifically because of her poor attitude. Everything in the store is WAY OVERPRICED in comparison to many other local fish stores. As for the livestock, there is a great selection of fish… And the tanks seem to be kept pretty clean. But, it seems the owners have no ethics whatsoever as they stock certain animals that will never survive in captivity or should be sold in the aquarium trade. Steer clear of tropical showcase, find somewhere else to spend your money.

The selection of fish is very impressive but they are completely overpriced. Customer service wasn’t rude (as some previous reviews mentioned) but then again I’m a 240lb bodybuilder. I think if they update the store a little and hire a few more knowledgeable people, the store can be top notch. Also, remember, the costumer is always right.

Had not been in Tropical Showcase in over 15 years or so.
There were not many workers in the store one lady behind the counter and one guy running around helping the customers, There might of been more but not in the 20 minutes i was there.
Once the guy finished with the customer before me he asked if he can help me, And i told him what i was looking for.
Unfortunately they did not have any at this time.
The tanks seemed clean and the fish were healthy looking.
they had a good selection of fresh water and salt water fish, as well as a ton of accessories and tanks.
I will definitely go back when i am in the area.

Thank you to the people of Tropical Showcase who have been wonderful throughout our experience with a defective tank. This place has wonderful fish and the most welcoming sweethearts of employees. They care about your aquarium and your fish. They take the time to assist with any problems that may occur and are absolutely professional.

I have had aquariums of some type for the past 15 years. When I moved to Levittown about a year and a half ago I found Tropical Showcase.
Are the fish expensive? Yes they are more expensive then a Petco or similar larger store. The important question is are they healthy and the answer is a resounding YES, the fish from this store are healthy and good quality.
I have not had a problem with the service her and in fact Gene has gone above and beyond to help me with issues that were in no way his fault (the 265 gallon tank that I bought from him sprung a leak) in fact he sent two of his employees over to help save my fish and help clean up/​mitigate damage. He also housed my fish for me (at no cost) while I settled the insurance claim with the manufacturer and got the tank replaced.
This Sunday I have a new reef tank coming from Tropical Showcase. I will be stocking it there also.

this place will leave you very unsatisfied with the customer service, stock of fish, and dry goods. the older woman that works here is beyond rude. she isn’t very knowledgeable about the store she is working in, let alone the fish she is taking care of. not to mention, this place is also extremely over priced. my boyfriend and i have had nothing but bad experiences here. go to aquarium village or pets warehouse instead.
