My experience was awful. As a new patient just trying to get contacts I was screamed at by the front desk women and was not helped at all. I had some questions about my insurance and all I got was yelled at and told I was wrong. I asked her to call my insurance and she TEXTED MY CARD TO SOMEONE I’m sorry but that is not okay. I left and did not get my eyes examined and I will never come back

A little hesitant to review, they apparently do not like to give you the model number of the glasses. I may have wanted to come back the next day, but after looking through their eyeglass selection, I found it surprising the woman behind the counter had such an attitude for optometry setting that I decided in the end, perhaps I should take it as a sign to not take my eye care concerns to them…
Now I see they have the most awful reviews in the first place… it’s unfortunate. If they were less ‘snobby’ about customer service, I may have gone back for the frames I found pleasant enough.

Yes, if there was 0 star then I would have rate them that. We came back to pick up eyeglasses 3 days after the said pick up date then they told us to come back in 20 min because they are still cutting it. Came back after 20 min and made us wait again.

I came here with a prescription and just want to get one of the cheapest reading glasses and a lady pointed finger at one section in the case and didn’t even look at me. I try to get some help but she didn’t seem to want to get up off her chair.
A week or two weeks later I had to call them because they didn’t call me let me know that my glasses were ready. A lady on the phone said they tried to call me, I told her no you DID NOT!!! I told her I have a record of all my calls and she wasn’t one of them.
OMG somehow I accomplished to pick one of the ugliest one I didn’t even try to ask them for a replace it with another one because the tensions, the POOR attitude, POOR SERVICE just was too much without many words
At this point I don’t even know where my glasses, I wore it once maybe once. I lost my very first one which was the last one so I didn’t want to pay much money for it yet it costs more than $ 300

After a few emails with Jenna & Cristelle, the Cohen’s Ambassadors, I was hopeful for resolution. I explained that I picked up my corrected glasses and that they were definitely better than the first pair. I was still disappointed because I needed the arms of the frames adjusted and of course there was no technician there and I needed to once again make a trip back to the mall on another day to get them adjusted. Due to work schedules, I still haven’t been able to get back there and have
been fighting with slipping glasses all week. I was sent a V.I.P. coupon which was pretty much a joke. Nothing special and that’s how I feel after this form of compensation. I will include photos of the coupon. .what do you think? Maybe money off what I purchased would’ve been a better offer…

BE AWARE!!! I was charged $ 500 for frames that cost $ 132.99-$ 169.99 elsewhere. It was my first pair of prescription glasses so I didn’t know any better. When I came to pick up the glasses I was given an ugly, cheap, generic case, even though I knew they came with original, designer one. I asked for a original case and was told that I would have to wait a week because they would have to order it first. I left the store and realized that I wasn’t given any information about my glasses so I came back immediately. An employee wrote down some numbers and handed me the piece of paper. Again I had to ask what each number meant. At this time another associate told me that they in fact did have the original cases so I was given one. How can you sell prescription glasses and not give the client any information about them??? Not to mention how ridiculously overpriced they are.

Terrible place. First of all they charge $ 400 for glasses made in China for $ 10. Staff does not care about customers. No professionalism or respect whatsoever. Go someplace else or buy online like at Zenni optical. Would have to be a fool to shop here.

Cohen’s Optical sucks this is the second pair I bought from them it has a big crack… the service and workmanship is horrible!

I bought a Groupon for Cohen’s Optical in Hicksville, NY for my husband. BEFORE purchasing this deal, I called the location and asked a few questions. The Groupon is for $ 200 towards glasses and I asked if it is possible to get a complete pair of glasses for under $ 200 so that there would be no out of pocket cost, and I was told YES, it is possible but only on select styles. Then I asked if my husband does not like any of the select styles that are under $ 200, can you give him all the info he would need to order the glasses online (prescription info, pupilary distance, etc) and was told YES they will give him all the measurements and info and he is under no obligation to buy glasses from Cohen’s. Finally, I asked, «Is there any reason at all why my husband would have to pay ANYTHING out of pocket if he picks glasses under $ 200 or if he chooses not to buy glasses?» and they said «NO.»
Today my husband went in to the Cohen’s Optical in Hicksville NY and had his eye exam. Afterwards, the sales girl named «Eleni (she refused to give me her last name)» asked him what kind of glasses he likes and he said «The cheapest ones possible», as we are on a VERY tight budget. She brought him a pair of $ 600 Ray-​Bans. He said that he cannot afford those, can she please show him a pair under $ 200, she rolled her eyes and muttered about being cheap and showed him a pair of wire frame glasses. My husband asked how much they are, and she said «$ 199 for the frames, and then the lenses are $ 125/​ea extra, plus…» and started adding it all up on a calculator. My husband stopped her and said «I want to spend only the $ 200 I have on the groupon, what are the glasses I can get for that money?» and Eleni said «These are the cheapest glasses we have, but if you give me $ 75 out-​of-​pocket I will give them to you. My husband was very suspicious on how a pair of $ 449 glasses ($ 199 frames + $ 125 lenses x2) was now magically $ 75. He told her he was not comfortable and he called me and said «Didn’t they tell you that you could get a total pair of glasses for under $ 200?» I said yes, and asked my husband to put me on the phone with the manager. Eleni got on the phone with me, told me she was the manager and that there are NO glasses under $ 200. I told her that I called before buying the Groupon and was told otherwise and she told me «Well that’s not true, and I can’t just believe whatever you tell me because you’re trying to get something for nothing.» I told her that is not what I was told and I am very unhappy, and that I would like her to give my husband all his prescription info and measurements so he could buy glasses elsewhere. She told me that he would have to pay $ 50 to get that information, in addition to what we already spent on the Groupon! I told her that is not fair, how can she charge more when I was told it was included — I asked for her last name because I wanted to discuss this with corporate, she said «I don’t have a last name», I said «everyone has a last name, why won’t you tell it to me?» She refused. I told her «If you are the manager, why aren’t you honoring what your employees told me?» she said «I don’t have to answer to you, you can call Corporate but I will not get in trouble, you can’t do anything to me.» AND THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME! After she hung up on me, she threw my husband’s phone onto the counter and started saying terrible things about me, that I am insane, etc, and my husband said «Excuse me but you shouldn’t say bad things about my wife, I am right here and I can hear everything you say!» and then my husband left the store.
I was so upset after being hung up on, I called the Cohen’s Optical in Hicksville again and asked to speak to the manager Eleni — the girl who answered the phone, Maria, told me that ELENI IS NOT EVEN THE MANAGER!!! The manager’s name is VERONICA, and she is not even in the store!!! So Eleni not only tried to trick my husband into giving her more money, she also LIED to me, HUNG UP on me, and then BADMOUTHED me in front of all the other people there including my own husband!!!
I AM SO ANGRY. My husband did NOT get glasses, and he couldn’t even buy glasses elsewhere! We got NOTHING from the entire experience except ABUSE! Such a terrible thing to do to people, I will never go back there again and I would like my money back for this Groupon. I advise that you do not do business with Cohen’s Optical any longer, as they are liars who say one thing and then try to squeeze extra money from their customers once they are in the store, VERY BAD BUSINESS!

I went to Cohen’s at Hicksville, NY for my eye glass. but it was not good experience.
I paid $ 35 for $ 200 discount deal to Amazon Local.
At Cohen’s I purchased cheapest frame & lenses with color for sun glass.
but still it ended up $ 400.
Yes, I have $ 200 Local Amazon Voucher. So Paid $ 200. and also I paid $ 35 to Amazon. That means total value $ 435 for this glass? I don’t think so. So this deal is NOT good.
I’m NOT recommend this deal to ANYONE. I’m not happy about this experience.

The only reason I am even giving this Optical store a star is because of the Doctor. Other than that, I would leave them no stars. My 5 yr old needed a new pair of glasses and I just received a new insurance through my new job. I figured I would go to the Cohen at the mall since it was convenient and they accepted the insurance. What a mistake! The first time I asked about the Insurance policy, the girl who worked there asked me to call on Monday because she wasn’t sure about the policy, um ok you work there though right? I called and was somewhat explained they did accept the insurance and no appt was needed. The following Saturday we walked in and waited about 30 minutes to see the dr. Then we had to wait another 30 min to have my son pick out a pair of glasses for him. I really did not want him to have wire frames but it was all they had available for the insurance. Now what I have not mentioned is that the first time my son wore glasses, we purchased them at Lenscrafters. No wire frames, and we were able to walk around the store and try on different glasses. Not so much at this Cohens since everything is kept behind the counter. After waiting 3 days for his glasses, we go to pick them up, and I for some reason ASSUMED they would sit my son down and make sure the glasses fit him properly and would adjust them. Crazy idea right? Especially since that’s how they did it at Lenscrafters. No, not at all. They handed me the glasses and said here you go have a nice day. I had to ASK them to adjust the wires which they did a half ass job on them. The following week I had to back to get them adjusted again since they keep falling off his face. The associate told me that since he is a child, I would just have to keep coming back to get them adjusted. And again, not once did they sit him down to see what adjustment were needed. I REGRET not going back to Lenscrafters, but unfortunately they do not accept my insurance. If you need glasses, PLEASE stay away from this location– They are not helpful in any way.

Went to Cohens because of my optical plan. I picked out a frme I liked with their help & I was told they were $ 4oo.oo dollars but my plan allowed for a $ 100.00 dollar discount. I left & came back and was told I could get them for $ 150.00 so I bought only to find out later on line that they were sold at the retailers recomended price of $ 200.00. So the frames should have only cost me $ 100.00. When I went back and told them this they wouldn’t offer a refund and said, well we have to make our money somewhere. When I asked to speak to the oweners no one skoke up but I believe they where sitting right there in front of me.

The associates at the store have no respect for customers at all, I haven’t seen such a rude staff, I booked an appointment a week ago for 7:30 pm, when I was the there sharp on time they kept me waiting for good 15 mins before I interjected and said I had an appointment, which was again followed by a huge silence, and when I asked again the associate replied they cant honor the appointment because of walk-​in customers, no apologies tenders. These people don’t care about your time, I would suggest not to waste your time.

They really should update the store. I know they do not require that much floor space for displaying products but walking into Cohens and walking into Sterling Optical is like night and day. First of all why are all the glasses behind cases. You have to wait for an attendant to become available in order to try on glasses. At Sterling its the complete opposite. Most of the glasses are on the wall for you to try on. Some of the high end stuff is behind glass cases which makes sense. At Cohen’s everything is behind glass. I ended up buying from another Cohen’s in Manhattan and had a similiar terrible experience with the staff and glasses selection in general. As a whole Cohen’s as a company has some fixing to do. Take your money to Wiz-Eye’s or Sterling Optical.

If you plan on getting new glasses, DO NOT go to Cohen’s Fashion Optical in the Broadway Mall. They don’t know what they’re doing, especially when it comes to complicated perscriptons, such as progressive lenses. And, when the glasses just don’t seem right, like you can’t see clearly, they tell you that you have to get «used to them». Also, my very expensive Silhoette frames broke, needed the bridge replaced under manufacturer’s warranty, and they would not honor my request. (Maybe because I was out of town and was not able to be at the store in person. But it shouldn’t matter, I still had a broken pair of glasses that I spent many hundreds of dollars on.) If you want good service, again, DO NOT use Cohen Fashion Optical.
