History
Established in 2012.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than putting a smile on someone’s face and seeing them enjoy previously forbidden foods. And I should know! When I was 17, I was told I was lactose intolerant. I avoided all the obvious foods but was consistently sick throughout my 20’s and 30’s. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis that I began to improve. I had to avoid not just lactose but many other foods. Label reading and «creative eating» became my way of life.
When my son was born allergic to eggs more than 17 years ago, I had to learn about ‘replacing eggs’ when no one quite knew what Albumin and other egg related substances were. After my daughter, at 19, became severely Gluten Intolerant, and my brother in law was almost simultaneously diagnosed with Celiac Disease, cooking without GLUTEN became a way of life, especially when it came to the important part at family get togethers: DESSERT!
Meet the Business Owner
Allie L.
Business Owner
Allie is a mom who saw a need for good, quality, fresh, preservative free Gluten Free baked goods. She saw a need, through personal experience, to make it peanut free at first, but was asked by other moms to make everything tree nut free so she did!
Allie also learned through personal family necessity how to bake yummy tasting items egg, dairy free, and when asked she does low glycemic as well. All within a dedicated Gluten Free, Tree Nut Free, Kosher Environment.
Allie grew up in Queens, N.Y. Went to Jamaica HS. She attended Smith College in MA for undergraduate and then NYU for her Masters Degree in Art Therapy. Allie has been married to her husband for 24 years.
14 years ago Allie had to undergo the complete removal of her colon due to severe Ulcerative Colitis. She had a benign tumor in her skull 4 years ago.
It was after that that Allie began baking for her Gluten Intolerant daughter. It was this year that Allie was diagnosed celiac herself.
Out of need is born a career!
