History
Established in 2007.
After teaching in the public schools for 34 years, I’ve changed careers and love being a massage therapist.
I was trained at the Whole You School of Massage and Bodywork in Rutherfordton, NC. I received a very complete education with training in a wide variety of modalities, all of which I use in my practice. I graduated in 2007, took the NCTMB exam. and recieved my NC LMBT licence that same year.
I am now an independent contractor dba Tapestry Life Resources and working out of Body Balance II Therapeutic Massage in downtown Hickory.
I have received additonal training in Upledger’s CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release. I serve as a teaching assistant with the Upledger Institute; I am considered staff by them.
I have completed Touch for Health training and am a member of the TFHKA.
I am approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as a continuing education Approved Provider #451 254 – 10 and teach classes.

Business Owner
Besides my interest in complementary health care, I enjoy leading spiritual retreats and teaching workshops on a wide variety of topics ranging from the Enneagram (which is a personality typing system) to mediation, guided imagery, journaling and book discussions.
I am proud to live in Catawba County where I taught school and formed many enduring relationships. I actually live in Hickory. Hickory is a wonderful city with strong ties to the arts and a committment to community well-bing and educational opportunities. There is a lot to do in Hickory including shopping, theater, symphony, museums and even free events like Hickory Alive and Octoberfest. It is a great place to live and work.
