Established in 1985.

JEM-​CLEAN, Inc. was founded by Joel E. Mullen. From the beginning our mission was to Provide the Most Outstanding Carpet Cleaning Service Available to the Piedmont area. From continued training and certification to utilizing the most modern and advanced equipment JEM-​CLEAN pursued that ideal and today enjoys the Reputation as the leading Carpet and Rug Cleaning company in the area. We now have over 60 Years of in house Experience working everyday to clean and sanitize carpets in homes, apartments and businesses in over a 70 mile and 4 county radius of Hickory. JEM-​CLEAN also made cleaning and deodorizing Oriental Rugs a priority for our clients. Through education and training we have become experts at servicing Oriental rugs. Joel Mullen is one of the few people in the United States to earn the IICRC Certification in Oriental Rug cleaning and we maintain a 4000 SF Rug Cleaning and Drying Facility. Business Owner

Joel Mullen started JEM-​CLEAN, Inc. in 1985 after working 6 years as an engineer in the piano manufacturing and upholstered furniture industry. He holds a Business Degree from Lenoir-​Ryhne University and a Masters Degree in Christian Leadership from Liberty University. In the Carpet Cleaning Industry he has achieved Master Textile Status in the IICRC earning Certification in over 7 categories: Carpet, Upholstery and Oriental Rug Cleaning in addition to Fire and Smoke Restoration, Water Damage Restoration, Odor Control and Journeyman Status in Textile Restoration and Water Damage Restoration.

A Catawba County native Joel is married to his wife Judy. They have 2 married Sons and 5 Grandchildren.

A life long member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, MS, Joel is active in church leadership and has served as a member of the church Praise Team, Random Calling, as guitarist and vocalist for the past 15 years.

Joel enjoys spending time with his family and grand kids, music, fishing and golf.
