I have never had such an UNPLEASANT and HORRIBLE experience in my entire life. I had my door installed today after a long ordeal, and I couldn’t wait a day longer to sit down and write about my experience. The guy they recommend for installations (German, who goes my the nickname of Chacho) came to my house on the first day, took the measurements, and assured me that I was going to be amazed by the quality of his job.
1.- Doors are not delivered the date promised but a week later after I called to inquiry about them.
2.- Doors are out of measure.
3.- One door was damaged to which the installer insisted that I install it the way it was because to him it was not a big deal. Of course, it is not his door, he didn’t pay for it, and he just wanted to get it over with and not having to take the door back to the shop again.
4.- Today, a week later, he comes back with a new door to install everything. The big day is here again.
5.- One of the mouldings was about an inch shorter, and he didn’t say anything about it. Either he tried for that to go un-​noticed or he is very crude and shoddy. When I pointed it out to him, he once again tried to convince me that that was not an issue and that that was barely visible. He even asked: «What do you want me to do? I can’t go back to the store to get another moulding. You go to home depot and buy one (referring to me)» After a few minutes trying to get his way around it, he took it down and did it «right» From there on, he didn’t stop cursing and having an attitude. I guess he forgot he was in my house, that I was the customer, and that I was paying for the job. No customer service skills, professionalism, manners, or whatsoever. A complete lack of everything.
6.- He was missing a screw on one of the hinges. Again, he kept it a secret to see if I would notice or not. Number 5 above repeats itself. I found the screw on the floor.
7.- He wanted to leave without finishing the job. He wanted me to finish applying the caulking all around the door. He said he didn’t suggest caulking because the gaps he left were kind of large, and that he preferred compound. I said ok, apply compound then. Apparently, he didn’t have any with him and told me to finish it myself. I said I would go to Home Depot and get him some, to which he replied that he needed to go because he was in a hurry and couldn’t spend more time with me. Number 5 repeats itself once more. After I insisted, he waited while I went to Home Depot to get something he should have had for the job.
A total disappointment. I am out of words to express my dissatisfaction with this job. No sense of nothing.
