OMG, ICK! I could not believe the sandwich I got here. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was the worst. Cheap ham and very little fresh pork and what was there was so bland. No flavor, no juice, no nothing. Not even mayo could’ve saved this one, friends. Don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it! i had a batido de mamey too and it was okay. A bit too much evaporated milk for me. I would like to taste the fruit more. I guess, judging by reviews I’ve read, I should’ve kept driving just a few more feet to get to El Rey de las Fritas. I could’ve kicked myself for not having gone there. I’ve been wanting to try it, but I didnt realize they had another location besides the one near FIU. Darn! Anyway, I hear it’s debatable if El Rey de las Fritas is better than Morro castle or not, but there’s not too much out there that won’t make you thank your lucky stars you didn’t waste your money at El Ranchito. If I had the option of giving 0 stars, the only reason I wouldn’t is for the good customer service. The lady was friendly, which can be a rarity at times. They sell pan cubano for $ 1. Maybe that will be better than the sandwich itself. I’d assume so.
