Blue Sky Food by the Pound No 2

The place is spacious & looks relatively clean. Came here with my dad to pick up some food to have lunch at my god mother’s at her request. This is the only place in her area that could offer food by the pound. We needed the typical hot & ready Hispanic meals to serve 7 people. The food itself doesn’t look bad. Can’t really say it looks amazing either. We shall see how the viejos like it at lunch. I will say this, DO NOT come here pressed for time! It all takes a long time despite being near empty. The staff is extremely slow but on another level of sloth pace that I’m not accustomed to seeing in places such as this. Not friendly either. No saludaron upon arrival, nothing not even a thank you for the business lol I haven’t come to this store in at least 8 years needles to say I won’t be back

Food by the lb. Just call it:
take a cheap date to the trough. How elegant does this place sound? Wow we’re so fat that this place probably appeals to most. Take a gander to the rear of this cow grazing restaurant. The very sight of the artery clogging grease mishandled and not properly disposed of, should make you ill, rethink Junk in Junk out

Oh God! Comida cubana!!! when I came to this country in 1997 I arrived in Miami and my dad took me to this place, I’ve never had Cuban food before and this was the perfect introduction to it.
Yes the staff can be either in work mode and stuff but the end result (the food) is all i care about. My absolute favorite! Ropa Vieja (Old clothes) it’s shredded beef in sauce and seasoning and as a side do Arroz Imperial «Imperial Rice» a delicious yellow rice with peas and a layer of cheese on top! outstanding flavor. highly recommended.
And last but not least try «Masitas de puerco» if you like pork then you’ll get it. (wink)

As with many latin restaurants, the staff seems to patronize latin customers only. They refuse to smile. They don’t want to explain what something is. As an english speaker, I am unable to read in spanish and asking for an explanation from some of their staff is like pulling teeth. Not a very nice group of people. The food isn’t good enough for me to deal with the bad service. Won’t be returning.
