Fraud! Contact me if you want information! This guy ruined my wedding by pretending he got into an accident! I never got a refund and he changed his number. He has ruined other weddings as well! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Marc was very unprofessional throughout our wedding planning process. Yes, he has a good package deal and sells it well, but it is NOT what he makes it up to be. He did not return my emails, or show up to a meeting he was supposed to be at for us prior to the wedding. He played songs at the wrong times for our wedding. He promised to bring props for the photo booth and some type of back drop, but on our wedding day– he had neither. He did not even offer us copies of our photo booth pictures. He was very nice upfront before booking, but the bad reviews are true. To top it off guests at my wedding heard him cracking jokes to others about the music that we chose to play during dinner time. Very disappointing.

If I could give any less than a 1 star– I would. Reading some of these great reviews I just cannot imagine how we are talking about the same guy. No I am not a bride that booked him and was disappointed. I am a wedding and event coordinator. My bride was to have him be the D.J., photobooth and candy station. I had tried to get in contact with him a number of times months before the wedding and I never heard back. The week of the bride talked to him although he had been flaky throughout the entire wedding planning process. The day before the wedding he promised to arrive at 2 PM for set up.
I called him in the morning to confirm and he never answered, but just wait for this…
2 HOURS PRIOR THE THE CEREMONY START TIME I GET TEXT MESSAGE THAT HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT.
That is right people. Two hours prior I get a shady text saying he won’t make it and he will contact the clients shortly. I requested they spoke to me because the bride and groom were about to take first look pictures and I did not want her day to be ruined. Then the text messages said it was a nurse. Then the text messages said the wife of Marc does not know any alternative. Then the text message said she would call and no one ever did.
Luckily, we got a D.J. for better price who was absolutely incredible. Whoever reads this review, save your wedding, contact me and I will send you to a D.J. who is reliable, better in every way and still fits your budget.
Don’t hire Marc and let him ruin the most important day of your life or any event for that matter.

To begin, there are no words to describe the level of disgust that I am feeling at this moment. Marc White (Elegant Proposals Entertainment) is a scam artist and an unprofessional wannabe. My husband and I met Marc over a year ago at a wedding expo in Anaheim, CA and he was the MC/​DJ for the fashion show and we hit it off instantly. His charisma and personality won us over and we began talking. We booked with him that same day (big mistake, I know) but we felt safe and confident in his services.
He sells a good package. You get unlimited DJ service, unlimited candy buffet, unlimited photo-​booth; it all seemed too good to be true and it was. We booked his services at his «Expo Discount» of $ 999 (down from $ 1999). Throughout the course of the year of planning, we did not communicate with him much, as planning his services was not necessary until closer to the wedding date. The few interactions I did have (e-​mail and phone) were good at first. As the wedding date approached (September 2014), e-​mails and phone calls went unanswered, voicemails were ignored and calls were never returned. I grew concerned that the lack of communication would make planning rough. I began looking online at reviews to get a heads up or an idea of who I was working with exactly (mistake number 2). We should have done this in the first place. The reviews were horrifying. He, on numerous accounts, cancelled at the last minute or didn’t even show up to a wedding and used «accident» as a reason. If a person is in THAT many accidents in a period of two years, I’m surprised he’s still alive, especially with the list of brides he has betrayed.
I thought nothing of these reviews and tried to tell myself that I was being a paranoid bride and that we were in good hands. I finally got in touch with Marc White (Elegant Proposals Entertainment) one month before my wedding, over the phone. We had a 5 minute conversation in which he spent most of the time trying to hurry me off the phone and placate my worries. He assured me that everything was well, all I needed to do was fill out the forms on my account from his website and he would be in touch with me closer to the wedding day. Low and behold, November 2, 2014, I received an e-​mail, along with a full refund of my deposit stating as follows:

Hello Holly, I’m so sorry to let you know that Marc is unable to perform at your wedding. He was in an accident recently and we were hoping he would be well by your wedding date, but as of today he is still in severe pain so I am issuing you a full refund of your monies paid.
Oh goodness, I sure hope he’s doing well. Damn, sad thing, I’m getting married in EXACTLY one week… what shall I do? Let’s have a panic attack and call every DJ you can possibly get ahold of and book them in time for your wedding next weekend. At least I got my refund.
These are all things that ran through my head the moment I read this email from his website. I felt nauseous and suspicious of said email but, as before, thought nothing of it. Maybe I was being paranoid. Three weeks pass after our big day and I go online to review my vendors and what do I see on EVERY wedding review site I go on? A lovely, raving review for Mr. Marc White for November 2, 2014… THE SAME DAY HE WAS «STILL IN SEVERE PAIN». Funny how that works… because no where in that review, does the bride state that he appeared groggy from pain medication or was in a medical harness (cast, brace, wheel-​chair, etc.) to ensure his comfort. Marc, not once, contacted me after the email was sent to apologize or see how things went. I assume he is too busy counting his money he earned from his full-​price gig the weekend before and most likely from the gig he had the day of OUR wedding. I felt sorry for being angry with him at first, I thought that maybe he really was in an accident and he was in a great deal of pain but when someone says one thing and does another, you can’t help but feel disgusted and betrayed. I write these things to save you the heart ache and stress.
My advice to you: Tread lightly with this wolf in sheep’s clothing and NEVER trust a man sporting a ponytail after 1990. Ya know what, just never trust a man with a ponytail.

Terrible! I won this dj at a bridal show but it was all BS he took all my info and made me an account on his website but has my answered a single email, phone call or text since! I noticed that other people have had the same complaint on other sites, I’m a stressed bride as it is he really shouldn’t be so rude and add extra expenses and stress to me.

Had such a wonderful wedding because of Marc. he was a big plus for my wedding … everyone loved the photo booth and they killed the candy bar thank you Marc for everything you did :)

I met DJ Marc through a coworker friend who was getting married three weeks before me. When we met him he was warm, welcoming, funny and cool. He was always there for you when you had any questions or concerns. The day before and the day of our wedding he made us feel like we were the only couple in the whole and is willing to cater to whatever needs you may have. On our wedding day in April 2014 everyone loved the candy bar, the photo booth and the music. Our guest could not stop talking about how much fun they had.

I’ve been wanting to write a review for Elegant Proposals, but I just couldn’t find the time to write one.
I had my wedding in August of 2012, and found and met with Marc at a bridal expo with my wife. We decided to give him a call, and with the short conversation we had on the phone, we knew that he would be the one to DJ at our wedding. We had a flyer that he gave us and said that he would give us a discount for being at the expo and it was a nice little package that included a candy buffet, a photo booth, and his MCing. Since we had a photo booth already booked, he gladly removed the photo booth option and adjusted the price accordingly. His price was very reasonable, and it helped out me and my wife (especially in the financial department!) During the whole process he always kept in constant communication via email and phone whenever we had questions or wanted to update him with any ideas that we may have had. He also gave us lots of feed back and suggestions on how to make our wedding one to remember while making sure that our guests had a great time. He helped us out plan out the timeline and even took the time to go and get the songs that weren’t on his song list. I could tell that he wanted to do everything he could to make our wedding perfect. A couple days before the wedding, he even called us up to make sure we were confident with everything and if there was anything he could to to help, and a day before he called to make sure that he had the time and location confirmed, and we went over the timeline one more time to make sure everything was in order. He was so helpful during this time.
On the day of the wedding, he was actually at the venue before we were and he was already setting up. We walked the venue and he showed me how he was going to set up, and showed me the candy bar and where he would set up his equipment for the ceremony. He was very quick and efficient when it came to setting up and breaking down his equipment seeing that he was alone (we thought he was going to have someone with him). Throughout the day and night he made sure that everyone was having a good time and took the time to talk to the guests to see how they were doing. He was very people oriented and he also played all the songs that we wanted and even the hard to find songs that we wanted. He kept us on track with our timeline to make sure we got everything in that we had planned. He had a certain way of keeping the mood up even when it came to the dinner where our guests had to get up and get their food, you could tell he was watching out to make sure there wasn’t anyone that was bored. Our guests also loved him because of game show voice and his entertaining MCing banter. At the end of the night, he efficiently took down his equipment and we thanked him for providing such great service and even helped out with some of the clean up at the venue.
Marc Smith was probably the best DJ that we could have asked for. From beginning to end he was there to help us out even with the most smallest and stupidest questions that we had. With a reasonable price, I believe that he would be your top choice if you are specific on what you want and are willing to take some suggestions. He’s been in the business for a long time, and he knows what works and what doesn’t. Thank you for the memories, Marc!

So it’s been over a year since my Marc hosted my wedding and a rating is long overdue. I won a contest for the whole DJ/​photo booth, candy bar, uplighting, etc for free. Simply put, everything was fantastic! I felt like a huge burden was lifted off my shoulder and I could spend more time with my family and friends to enjoy my wedding day.

DJ marc is just everything a bride could ever ask for. he is the WHOLE package in ONE super nice cool dude. we had our wedding in november of 2012 and up to this point, whenever my wedding would come up in conversations with our friends, dj marc from elegant proposals always come up. i will never forget how he stepped up like nobody else that day.
let me start with each of the stuff included in his entertainment package.
CANDY BAR/​BUFFET was sweet! he provided a wide variety of candies, chocolates and goodies which he placed in those big glass jars that were neatly organized on the table for all my guests to dig on. there was more than enough for everyone and most of my guests even took bags of the goodies home with them.
CUSTOM GOBO was just beautiful… our names were lit on the dancefloor the whole night and it was just magical!
the UPLIGHTING made the entire hall so pretty!
the PHOTOBOOTH was a hit! all my guests LOVED it. there was always a line for it because my guests kept coming back. all of us enjoyed our free prints and it sure gave us a lot of memories!
the VIDEO MONTAGE was the «aaawwwwww moment» of the night. he did such an awesome job with it!
before all these, the communication for the planning we had with dj marc was easy, fast and clear. he returned my calls and emails promptly and assured me the whole time that everything will be ok… he had amazing ideas and suggestions and was very helpful in answering my unending questions.
on our wedding day, he kept checking back with us to see if everything he had set up was up to our standards, he would periodically ask us if he could get us anything, what he can do and constantly remind us that if there is anything we need, to let him know. he kept all of our guests entertained with the music, i also love his voice when he makes those announceents, he is just full of fun and energy!
during our event, we encountered a little problem with one of our vendors, for some unacceptable reason, our event space/​caterer ran out of ice. yes they did, i know! and for another stupid unacceptable reason, they were not able to provide anymore and told me that they were about to close down my open bar. as i was about to freak out, i turn and see dj marc and immediately asked me if everything was ok, i told him what was going on and he just answered me with «do not worry, i will take care of it.» and next thing i know, he was driving to the nearest gas station and came back within 10 minutes with bags and bags of ice. he saved my open bar… he saved my night and he saved our wedding and it was not even in his job description to do so.
for me that just says a lot about him and how he loves what he does,. and that’s helping out brides like me to make her wedding as perfect and memorable as it can be.

We won Marc’s DJ package from a bridal show for our wedding last year. I’m so surprised with the negative reviews on Elegant Proposals because Marc was nothing but exceptional. I was expecting an ok service considering we are getting his services for free. But to my surprise, he exceeded all our expectations. He even welcomed us to his home to discuss details with us and make us feel comfortable. The day of the wedding, he came on time, actually early, to set up everything that needed to be set up, from the ceremony to the ballroom. He kept reminding me that it is our day and we can count on him to make everything go smoothly. He even told us that if we have any problems with anything, to just let him know and he will make sure to take care of it.
The package came with so many things, from candy bar to the montage video. The ballroom looked great with the uplighting and gobo lighting. Our guests enjoyed the fun photo booth and amazing music. All our guests loved Marc. He made the wedding fun and easy. Everything went smoothly and my guests were on the dance floor having a great time! We’ve already recommended Elegant Proposals to our friends getting married this year. Thank you Marc for making our wedding such a memorable and enjoyable day. :)

Marc was our DJ for my daughter’s wedding. He showed up about three hours before the wedding and got everything set up including the candy buffet, photo booth, DJ station, and the set up for the ceremony. He followed all of our instructions for music during the ceremony and played all of the correct songs for the reception, i.e., grand entrance, first dance, father-​daughter dance, bouquet toss, etc. The best part was that he got everyone out on the dance floor and kept things going all through the night. Marc completely took into account our playlist requests but also made good decisions when changes needed to be made to make everything the best it could be. He kept things classy yet extremely fun, which is what we wanted. All the guests commented that the music and flow of the reception were perfect. The bride and groom didn’t want the reception to end, and everyone said they wanted more… I guess that’s the way you want it! It couldn’t have been a better day, and Marc was a big part of making our daughter’s dream wedding a reality. We really did hear, «It was the best wedding!»

YOU Just dig your own grave deeper and deeper. FYI I am not a vendor, you are extremely cheap and appealing to some couples who are on a tight budget, therefore that is why I have been to a couple of venues where you attempted to DJ. I am assuming you also upset other wedding vendors? Pretty sad. You really need to learn how to be professional as you just make yourself look even worse. It is obvious I am not the only one who feels like this by reading your ratio of 1 star reviews!

Marc S. was a wonderful DJ and we couldn’t have asked for more. He services are a really good deal considering you get uplighting, a gobo, photo booth, candy buffet, and slideshow in addition to DJ services. His website is user friendly where you can request all the music you would like and there is a template where you plug in the songs you want that correspond to the regular order of events (first dance, cake cutting, parent dances, etc). This helped me stay organized! Everyone kept saying what a wonderful time they had, and my only regret is that we ran out of time to play the dance music since my venue had a noise curfew outdoors. Even so, people said they liked the change of pace that it was mainly quiet and classy, but Marc will tailor your reception to whatever music you would like. Thanks so much for a wonderful event!

Mark from Elegant Proposals Entertainment did my wedding reception with his partner in October of 2010. My guests had the time of their life. Good fun and music. He entertained my guests and made everyone feel like they were a special part of our day. My guests, family and friends to this day still talk about Mark and what a fantastic job he did. I recommend him to everyone I know.

Worse DJ ever! I wish i can take back the day when I decided to hire him! Then I wont be wishing that I can take my wedding day back which they ruined! Do NOT even think of hiring them if you want to have a good wedding. He called on the day of the wedding to tell me that he cant come and will send someone else. The guy was horrible! I should have asked someone to play their Ipod instead. HE forgot to give us the microphone for the ceremony. So no one heard anything, even my videographer couldnt get a decent sound on our vows. During the reception, there was no flow at all. He stops literally every time the music stops. Like a minute pause after every song! He was so unprepared. The photobooth was not manned at all. My guests (including me) kept reaching over the laptop so we can take the picture ourselves since he seems so occupied! 3 weeks after the wedding. my guests still comes up to me to go. «pretty wedding… but DJ sucks!» if my 56 year old uncle can tell that the DJ does not know what he’s doing. something’s really wrong. STAY AWAY. i will post this review on every wedding website i can get my hands on.

Warning brides!!! Do not hire him! He destroyed my wedding. He called me 30 minutes before my ceremony that the person that was hosting my wedding got into an «accident «but he can’t provide me with the proof. My ceremony was at 2pm and Marc told me that the set up was going to begin very early in the morning. I think its a little odd that none of my guest complain about an accident close to my reception. I’m sure that he’s reply to this would be «I refunded her check», but that is not going to change the nightmare that I had to go through.

Brides… Don’t let him ruin your big day because you can’t ever get that day back, services are Horrible!
He is really great at communicating over the phone and such, but when it comes to the actual day of not good at all, very UNPROFESSIONAL… Arrived ten minutes before start time, rude to guests, was in a foul mood, got upset with guests when they would do music requests, very rude to guests, smokes/​drinks liquor/​takes personal phone calls while on the job, does not provide all services promised, poor malfunctioning equipment, won’t play genres of music he doesn’t like, skips all over with music genres (no consistency besides pop music)
Honestly you are better off just putting an Ipod to shuffle than hiring this guy just speaking from experience. Thought he would be great because all the reviews I had found on wedding wire, Unilocal,google… etc were great, but I wished somebody would have warned us

We had our wedding on Oct 1. Mark was great at keeping everyone going. The crowd of almost 150 loved every minute of it.
His announcements and keeping the wonderful day flowing was great. I would recommend anyone to him.
Wow Im reading the bad review and I couldnt agree less.
1. Marc did play all of the songs and the Father Daughter, Mother son. DInner and last Dance were perfect.
2. The Photo booth was awesome and took great pictures while people had a ton of fun. He isnt the most expensive and for what we paid the photo booth was awesome and people loved it
3. Our dinner music was Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. We picked it and it was wonderful
4. The flow of the day was great and even though the day is a whirlwind. He pulled us back into the crowd and keep us flowing with them.
5. The MOST IMPORTANT THING IS the GUESTS were absolutely happy. Many, Many people said it was THE BEST WEDDING they had ever been too.
6. Any customer that asks for a 100 percent refund in my opinion is a big mooch anyway and I would be ashamed to ask for that.

My fiancé and I hired Marc Smith, aka Elegant Proposals Entertainment, as the DJ for our wedding reception.
Marc read our crowd, kept everyone happy and got a diverse group on the dance floor. We gave him little guidance, and he did far better than we could have done in choosing music. His announcements were professional and clear, and he was proactive in making sure that the reception flowed smoothly and that we were satisfied throughout, unobtrusively checking in with us often. He is very good and we recommend him highly.
