Alex B Painting & Wallcovering

Wish I could also put zero stars! this guys is rude and very difficult to work with. He just explained to me how I would finish my paining my cabinets!!! Also just explained to me how to clean off the paint where he messed up. Don’t hire. he is a rip off!!!

If I could give no star I would. I am thoroughly disgusted with this man.
Alex came recommended to us by a local realtor. We hired him to paint the inside of the house we had just bought prior to us moving in. Boy am I wishing we hadn’t been given his name.
His large crew (who aren’t listed under him on his contracting license) left paint all over fixtures, appliances, cabinets. They painted right over the bathroom towel hardware.
On June 2, I arrived at new home, walked through the house and pointed out the mistakes. Alex made excuses and said «but I painted your pantry and the inside of closets that I didn’t charge you for.» (We never asked him to do these things)
His crew cleaned up a few of the mistakes and then they left.
The seller’s agent had «hired» Alex to do handyman work required in sales contract, like plumbing, electrical work, roofing. We did not know he did or tried to do these items until a few days ago. These items he was hired to do were done poorly or not done at all. Let’s just say this agent is demanding the money she paid him back.
When our moving truck was here, we unloaded and I placed items in our Master Bedroom custom closet. A day later I went to pick up an item and it was stuck. I pulled it off and a large chunk of latex paint came off with it. I inspected further and noticed that he had painted our entire closet shelving system and the paint was melting off.
We contacted Alex as soon as we saw this and sent him pictures.
The next day we received text saying that he’d come at 10am to scrape all the paint off. He arrived on June 16 at 1045am with 1 young man. They «finished» at about 6pm. It was already dark in the closet so I couldn’t tell how well the job was done. They asked to use my vacuum to clean up the paint on the floor and I let them not knowing it would harm my brand new vacuum. Alex saw the floor was vacuumed. I never received an «I’m sorry, we messed up.» Little things like that go a long way in my book.
Now today, I was starting to put things back in the closet and inspected everything and ran my hand down a shelf. It had spots of paint still on it. I inspected more and found that almost every shelf/​panel had paint on it and one entire panel was not touched. I was upset and started to clean it myself. I sent pictures to husband who text them to Alex demanding money back for this poor job. I then noticed he painted all plastic in closet and I cannot remove it fully. My brand new vacuum is also having issues now.
All in all we are going to have to replace our entire custom closet because I cannot remove the paint that he painted but was NOT TOLD TO DO SO. I do not want any of our belongings ruined because of this so I cannot even use the closet. Especially in this heat things melt and if the paint melts… bad.
So all in all DO NOT hire this man. RUN! We will be demanding a large sum of money back and also contacting the licensing board and the BBB. If I have to hire an attorney I will. I am recovering from several surgeries and don’t need this mess.

I called Alex for an estimate. He came by we went over all the details. I asked him for a written estimate he told me he did’nt have a estimate book with him. Hello you are a contractor and you don’t have a estimate book and you knew that you were going to give an estimate for a job. He told me he would email it to me i did’nt receive anything at all. Im not going to chase anyone down to give them my business. Thanks Alex i did it myself. Major Flake BEWARE.

Called company to get a quote on wallpaper installation, I asked; «do you do wall coverings?» The gentleman who answered said no… The name of the company is «Alex B Painting & Wall Coverings» weird!
