History

Established in 2013.

Metro DC DJs & Entertainment began in 1992 when owner Jarrod Wronski began announcing baseball at W. T. Woodson High School. This led to DJing sports events and dances, eventually creating Sport​sAn​nounc​ing​.com in 2001 and working over 300 events a year while also providing consultation to other sports announcers and sports DJs.

In the mid-2000’s, more focus was put on private events such as weddings, birthdays and corporate events with Metro DC DJs being established in 2007.

With the expansion of the company to include stand-​alone emcee services, DJs, uplighting, custom gobos, equipment rental, and dancers, the company changed its name to Metro DC DJs & Entertainment.

Jarrod W.

Business Owner

DJ Jarrod is the owner of Metro DC DJs and has been a DJ since 1992. He has served as emcee and/​or DJ for over 250 events per year since the late 1990’s throughout the United States.

Twice, DJ Jarrod has been chosen as Best DJ in Northern Virginia Magazine, the first time with his sports announcing business, Sport​sAn​nounc​ing​.com, the second and most recent selected as Best Wedding DJ with Metro DC DJs.

Having worked in professional sports, DJ Jarrod has provided in-​game DJ services for the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Rays, and Washington Kastles. He has also provided DJ and emcee services for the Capitals, Kastles, Washington Wizards and Washington Redskins.

Several corporate clients have also utilized services from Metro DC DJs & Entertainment including Living Social, USA Hockey, Sage Communications, Bristol Myers-​Squibb, Monumental Sports & Entertainment, KaBOOM!, Fairfax County Public Schools, Lincoln Holdings, City of Fairfax (Va) and City of Baltimore (Md).

We had some specific requirements when searching for a DJ. We had spoken with some really nice DJs that, unfortunately, did not have the wide musical repertoire that we need. Our wedding reception went from Three 6 Mafia to System of a Down to Pink Floyd and back. It was amazing. I may have been a stressed out bride, a bit hard to get in touch with sometimes and perhaps a bit scatter-​brained too, but Jarrod worked with me. He even opened up the music selection portal for an extra day so I could catch up on my sleep! We couldn’t have been happier with DJ Jarrod!

We worked with Jarrod Wronski on a corporate event and he delivered in every way possible. Pre-​event he was extremely responsive, answered any and all questions quickly and thoroughly. He was happy to talk directly with the AV Team at the venue which ensured clear communication about what he needed. Day of the event he arrived on time and set up all his equipment in an *extremely* tight time frame of 45 minutes at the same time the hotel was flipping the room. He read the crowd very well and could tell which music was working and what would keep them on their toes and engaged. We heard nothing but rave reviews from our attendees. As an event planner, I will be keeping him on my short list.

We hired Metro DC DJs for our wedding after reading their reviews on Unilocal,and we could not have been happier. By far, the most compliments we got from our wedding guests were for our DJ, Jarrod. He handled the music during the ceremony, the dinner, and the reception.
Months before the wedding began, Jarrod met with us in order to get an idea of the kind of reception we were planning and what kind of wedding we wanted. He took note of the kind of music we wanted (and didn’t want), how we wanted the wedding to be structured, and just about every other detail you could think of. Metro DC DJs also has a great website where you can pick songs that you want to be played at the reception and invite your groomsmen and bridesmaids to do the same (don’t worry, you get a veto over any song they pick).
A couple weeks before the wedding, you meet again to go over the more minute details of the wedding. Jarrod took careful note of exactly how we wanted everything to play out, and he even had great suggestions about topics other than DJing and music that we would not have thought of without him. For example, he suggested that my wife do a fake bouquet toss right before the real one so that the photographer could both get a picture of her throwing the flower and also get a picture of the ladies receiving the flowers.
Jarrod also did an incredible job introducing the wedding party, preluding the speeches, and explaining the Tea Ceremony (a Chinese wedding tradition) to our guests. He was witty and engaging, and many of our guests commented on his sense of humor.
Ultimately, I didn’t know what to expect when I was interviewing DJs for our wedding, but I feel that we could not have made a better selection. We have a few friends who are in the process of planning their own DC weddings, and we have convinced them all to go with DC DJs.

I used Metro DJs for my daughter’s bat mitzvah in November 2014. Jarrod was very prepared and kept the party going the whole night. He had all of our songs including some that I thought might be hard to get. All of our guests, including 50 kids and 50 adults loved him and danced and partied the entire night. I highly recommend him for your next party.

I have a unique use for Jarrod of Metro DC DJ’s. Each November, I host a very large lacrosse tournament (3000+ kids) that has been in existence for over 12 years. The tournament grew to capacity in about its 5th year. About 8 years in, we were trying different things to «spice it up» a bit. In case you don’t know, big events tend to «lull» during the middle and it drags on at some point. After seeing Jarrod in action at several major high school sporting events, we discussed the possibility of him working our event. This concept was new to him and to us but after a 4 year run with Jarrod, our event has gotten even better.
What Jarrod has done is help fill in the «gaps» that occur during the day. He plays music in between games, does sponsor «shoutouts», handles door prizes, runs dance contests and other things that keep the crowd interested. This is a 50 acre complex with 18 fields and he manages to make it seems like we are all together a lot closer. He also handles all of the timing for the event running a master scoreboard. This CANNOT get screwed up and it never does.
Simply put, Jarrod brought a «breath of fresh air» to our long-​standing event. Each year we ask for feedback to improve and he is mentioned every year as a big positive.
I understand that the event DJ world is a competitive business. If you are looking for someone that TRULY cares about his work and not just the paycheck, I suggest you hire him so he can breathe life into your event! I get a chance to do mine over again every year, do you? Make the right choice the first time!

Metro DC DJs & Entertainment is is a outstandingDJ company under Jarrod who not only plays current music, has a great personality and keeps the party going, he puts the care and concern of the customer as priority #1. Jarrod worked our wedding and we still have people talking about his part of the ceremony two weeks out. Very outgoing, flexibility and respectful to the wants and needs of the customer. Look nowhere else. He is the best!
