Visited last night with family. Amazing pizza and other dishes. We had the cannoli for dessert. Outstanding dinner.

The worst Italian food I’ve ever had. I ordered the tortellini and my co-worked ordered the gnocchi. The server brought our meals out and asked us what we thought the one plate was and called it the wrong thing. Once I tasted my tortellini, it was like it had been boiled/cooked too long and was mushy. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

BUGINMYFOOD! DON’T GO! Manager reacted beyond inappropriately. I didn’t receive a discount, free meal, or even an APOLOGY. The food is not worth the disrespectful, unprofessional, unsanitary help. The servers should maybe be trained and learn that the customer is somewhat important!

We took our youth hockey team for a group dinner. They were very accommodating. Their extra large pie is enormous and they warned us, it was probably 3 feet across, so I ordered one less than we would have normally done and we still would up worth 2 bags of slices. I had the baked ziti and it was delish.

Great NY style pizza! The crust is thin and crispy and the sauce is very flavorful. Most of pasta dishes like the baked ziti and the stuffed shells are very good. My favorite is the chicken piccata. Well worth the trip.

Solid Italian food. We found this place on Unilocal because we wanted Italian and our hotel was nearby. We were not disappointed. Veal was excellent and the calzones were large. Red sauce with pasta was very good. It had a sweet taste. Service was slow but good.

A nice family Italian restaurant. My go to items are calzones and any of the items with the red marinara. The sauce is so good. Pizza is also good. They have excellent crust.

Ate here for mothers day last weekend with my wife and two sister-in-laws family. Healthy portions, great service. We will be back. Thank you very much!

We went there the other night post a quick beer at the Mellow Mushroom(sidenote: come on Herndon, get your large beer selection game on, I want to find somewhere more local than MM to grab a beer. Jimmy’s I am looking directly at you). We didn’t know what to think because the reviews are all over the place. However, here is my perspective in a nutshell; this isnt the best italian you will ever have. But it is surprisingly pretty good. The portions are obnoxious(as one would expect), the red sauce is really good, and the service was spot on. A review below mentioned the plants are dusty, I didnt notice this, however I was impressed that the plants were forming a demi-trellis and real. It helped with the ambiance. We had the house chianti, the wedding soup, crushed the delicious breads, and got two different entrees. If the wedding soup is on the special menu that night certainly get it. Maybe I am advocating a little bit because its a local stripmall italian joint, but damnit its our little stripmall italian joint. In the ‘burbs I am happy with that.

Large party but slow night. Nonetheless, five of 11 meals were not hot at all. Two were sent back and were still not hot when returned. Manager comped(1) of the five cold meals. Service slow. Unacceptable.

I love Luciano’s. They have great food and make you feel right at home. We recently celebrated my daughter’s Catholic confirmation and reserved the banquet room for the occasion. Roberto walked us through the menu options and beverage selection in advance and the hosted dinner came off without a hitch. Please note that Luciano’s serves big portions of their delicious food. For the entrée segment of the service we offered NY strip, chicken, salmon and veal. My guests loved the experience and said that they’d certainly be back again. My sincerest thanks goes out to Roberto and his team.

I keep thinking this place will show up on one of those Food Network«save our restaurant» shows. It’s really changed in the 12 years I’ve worked nearby, and not for the better. A colleague and I went there for lunch this week. There was one guy dining when we arrived, then he left and we were the only two. Another single diner arrived just before we were leaving — that made a total of four diners in the restaurant between 12 – 1:30 p.m. Ouch. Pizzas and calzones used to be tasty, and the pasta a la Erma(sausage and mushroom cream sauce) was a favorite. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs on a whim — the pasta was a bit oily but okay, and the meatballs were large but without much flavor. I ate just half and didn’t feel sad to leave the leftovers behind. House salad dressing was basically oil and water — no seasoning at all. Bread was good. This place is very dated inside with dusty plants dangling everywhere. During the lunch rush, one section of the restaurant didn’t even have the lights on, and the bar stools were still turned up like it wasn’t open for business at all. One server, who I suspect was also fixing the food or at least working in the kitchen. No music playing, and generally no atmosphere. With the closure of Bertucci’s, Luciano’s had the opportunity to gain some ground against Zefferilli’s. It doesn’t even come close and is actually losing out to the formulaic Mellow Mushroom across the parking lot.

I would venture to say this is one of the worst Italian restaurants in Herndon. The food is not fresh, one time my meal was actually frozen on the inside. The servers were not particularly friendly one time — a friend and I went there for just coffee and dessert, and they joked about us in Spanish. We decided not to order anything after that, and haven’t been back since. And the food is not authentic Italian at all. The owner really needs to step up his game, especially if he wants to compete with Mellow Mushroom in the same shopping center. Maybe put out some quality food, hire professionals, and have some events — perhaps wine tasting. Or something to advertise a new look of the restaurant or a new menu. Maybe people will decide to return if that happens, otherwise you’ll continue losing customers. Over the many years living in Herndon, I’ve noticed less and less people dine here, and there’s a reason for that.

I didn’t think this was a chain, this is a nice occasion place that my wife and I visit. Best iced tea ever. All the food is served traditional Italian style. If you want pasta with your meat you need to order a side of it. Been there over a dozen times and never been disappointed.

One thing that drives me nuts is when a restaurant offers something and then you call & they are clueless. I called at 7Pm for a delivery and it took them 5 min to decide they couldn’t do it. Easy pass for this place. Rocket science I swear…

I’ve lived in Herndon for a while now and it wasn’t until about a year ago that I finally came here. It’s location makes it easy to pass by. Everything I’ve had here is delicious. And I’m an Italian food snob. Their salad dressing so so good! I understand why they sell it in bottles. The white pizza is outstanding. I’m so glad I found this gem of a place. I’ll continue to come here.

Stop by for dinner. Ordered chicken parm to eat in and took personal pizza home for kids and chicken Caesar home from wife. The chicken Caesar was ordered with extra white onions as that is what the wife liked. Chicken parm arrived. As the pic suggested… looked good, smelled good, taste good(the sauce) but the chicken did not taste fresh as I needed a sharper knife to cut through the chicken breading. Definitely did not taste fresh. Than came the bill, they charged extra $ 1 for some white onions and when I questioned she simply shrugged her shoulders and said«they told me to charge». I told her she should have told me first and not after the fact. No reaction. I was going to give a three star for my average experience buy the charging extra money after the fact is what irritated me and therefore the two stars.
