Friendly Computers

Phenomenal job adapting to my particular issue and getting a complicated KVM-​based home office up and running. I will definitely use them again if I have computer issues!

Have been using this company for a few years. I love that it feels like family. I work for a small business and I’m used to that attitude. The tech that comes on site is fabulous. I don’t wait until I’m frustrated anymore, because frankly for $ 109 I know that Brian can stop by and take care of any problem in a few minutes. To me that makes it well worth it. If it would have taken me three hours to figure it out, my time is more valuable than the $ 109 I pay to get it done right and best of all… no headache upon completion. Awesome!!!

Brought my laptop there with a screen that didn’t work. They held onto my computer for several months, giving me a cock-​a-​mamey story about how hard they were looking to find replacement screens, and mine was so rare a model (Lenovo T410), and they were on every list to be called automatically when a replacement screen became available. After I called several times, the owner said a replacement screen would be very hard to procure and would cost several hundred dollars. After all this, I picked up my computer and easily located a replacement screen on Amazon for $ 65. (Amazon, eBay, etc. were practically overflowing with replacement screens for my model). Then, on opening up the machine to insert the replacement screen myself, I found that my old screen had simple come disconnected. I would have expected a computer-​repair store (a) correctly to diagnose this incredibly simple and easily solved problem, and (b) not to fail to procure a needed part after taking months which took me a few minutes to find. Would never return.

The technical staff clearly explain and help you understand the problem. However, the owner has the worst understanding of serving her clients. Although a quote is provided and agreed upon, BEWARE, she will not respect that quote, will override it, and charge an increased amount when you are picking up your computer. I will never return here and it is unfortunate because I was a loyal client. Clearly, she does not know her client base and appears to not value client loyalty.

Friendly Computer fixed my (very mysterious) computer problem. It works perfectly and the price was not too bad. My only complaint is that the hours are kind of limited during the week if you don’t work in the immediate Herndon area. But, they do have Saturday morning hours.

Came home from vacation powered up my older computer and zap it blew. Of course everything was on it! I called up Friendly computers, dropped it off and they were able to retrieve all my data and pictures. They called me back that same day to say I could pick up a memory stick with the data and offered to dispose of my old computer (they gave me the hard drive). It was such a relief to know that I could call on someone that I trust to help with my computer. I will definitely use them again.

They charged me a whopping $ 170 for just looking at my computer. Gave my laptop in December and didn’t get it back till march. They might be good with software repair but hardware repair BEWARE. Also when I came home, I saw that they broke a $ 350 screen. What a bunch of Bull.

I have had multiple experiences with Friendly Computers in Herndon, and have found the team incredibly responsive, helpful and reasonably priced.
As a small business I don’t have an on staff tech department but run into computer issues that can be technical and need quick resolution. I consider these guys to be part of my staff. They have also built computers for me that have proven incredibly reliable without any unnecessary features or software to clutter their operation. They are the best at what they do!
