Still using the old $ 10 minimum credit card purchase rule. Please don’t tell me that the prices are so low here that they don’t have 3% rolled into the price of the products. Don’t waste your time going here. Plenty of better markets in the area.

I believe the store owner is dishonest. The meat prices on the board are outdated, and you always get charged more than the written prices. Phone order of meat always seemed to be packed with bones and ligaments, because I was not there to watch. Overcharged couple times on items that had no price tags on them. I don’t think I will be visiting this place again.

I will never buy from this store again. I used to be a regular customer, paid 8 bucks a pound for lamb chops only to find out later after I barbecued them that it was a female lamb. It tasted very bad. Stop cheating customers.

Great neighborhood market for all of your Indian cookery needs. Perfect place to buy halal meat… especially parts of animals you won’t find everywhere else, such as lamb brain. The meat is fresh and priced very fair. I never have had an issue with anything in this store. They always stock their product and continually check for expired products. One time, I asked for an Indian snack that you find in most Indian stores. The owner didn’t have it, so he actually put it on his list to order and got a special order in just because I asked! Now that is going above and beyond for your customers. It is just a bit cramped because they do have a lot of product, but that’s also what makes this store your one-stop shop for all of your cooking needs. The butcher and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. By far my favorite place to shop in Herndon.

I’m really upset that after 1 day of being in the fridge, the package of ground chicken I bought has gone bad. I still can’t believe it. It’s not even open and still sealed. I ordered it over the phone as I do each and every single week and my husband picked it up and brought it straight home and put it in the fridge. From the fridge, I put 2 of the 3 poultry items in the deep freezer and left the ground chicken in the fridge to cook something for the kids the next day. We bought it on Friday and on Saturday morning, I noticed the pink color faded slightly to a whiter color. I didn’t think it was anything to worry about and left it in the fridge. A few hours later, I went to cook it and was aghast at what I saw. Not only did the entire package of ground poultry turn GRAY but there was green liquid all around the sides. It was horrible! I posted a picture of the decayed meat & my receipt as proof. I’ve never ever seen meat go bad but this was pretty sickening, especially when it was still sealed and never opened. It’s even more frightening to think I could have actually cooked it earlier, when the ground chicken looked pink, and fed it to my kids. I am NEVER going to Fair Price for halal meat again. I am so upset. This is IT. Now, I gotta throw away the organic chicken and package of chicken legs from the freezer that were in the same bag with the ground chicken, too. I’m not taking any chances. I wish I had the confidence to call and complain to the manager but I don’t feel comfortable. Someone behind the butcher counter was negligent in the handling or packaging or climate control of the meat and wrongfully sold it instead of disposing of it. Someone could have gotten seriously sick. I am so traumatized by this experience. Never again will I go to Fair Price for chicken. UPDATE6÷1÷2013: My husband called the manager at 12:20 pm on Sunday and to no avail, was he offered a refund or replacement for the items ordered. The manager was straight forward and not sympathetic at all. He said: «This happens sometimes. Meat should go straight in the freezer when you buy it from here. When it travels in the car to your house and it’s summertime and 100 degree weather(it was not summer weather or even near that temp!), you need to put the meat straight in the freezer. You can bring in the items with receipt but since 24 hours has passed, I am sorry I can’t do anything about that. I can’t help you. You should have called on Saturday.» W.O.W. My husband and I are shocked at his response. We are weekly customers for many years and this has never happened. He didn’t care at all. Instead, he blamed the customers, customers who have never ever returned anything, who have ordered the same items each and every single week, for years and years. For a meager $ 22, he lost regular customers. I can’t believe it. I’m so shocked. I’m actually in tears. It’s the principle of the matter that counts here, not the money. I’m so hurt. I have a friend, who returned, a whole bag of opened rice, to Halalco, with no receipt, after it went bad, and walked out with a new bag, by the late manager(May God have mercy on his soul as he passed away. Ameen). No questions, no bull shit. The manager at Fair Price, as a store owner, must have very little integrity and a whole lot of pride. And no shame. Shame on him! And his whole business.

Excellent Pakistani-Indian-Arab-Persian specialty store. Everything is in here from a halal meat butcher to shisha hookah supplies. Good variety of spices and other cooking ingredients, as well as pre-packaged desserts and a frozen and refrigerated food section. Even saw some Turkish jams and pickles on the shelves. Sign says they’re open 10am — 10pm every day but Monday, when they close an hour early at 9pm. Look around, or ask the nice lady behind the counter for what you’re looking for, it’s probably in there somewhere!
