Beginning Bridges is a part day preschool program for children ages three, four and five years old serving the Northern Virginia communities of Oak Hill, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax, Chantilly, and South Riding. Beginning Bridges is nondenominational and open to all children, regardless of race, nationality, or creed who may benefit from our program.

Beginning Bridges believes that children are our most precious resource, and we are committed to providing a loving and nurturing environment for your child’s growth and optimum development. Their innate goodness and sense of wonder, nurtured by our play based curriculum will promote the development of a confident, cooperative, and self directed individual. Through positive relationships, creative play and the active manipulation of their environment, children will develop a positive self image. We offer a stimulating and age appropriate curriculum which includes social, emotional, physical and cognitive developmental goals.

History

Established in 1993.

Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds in both education and experience. All have several years experience working with young children. Our staff provides a loving and nurturing environment in which your child’s self esteem and highest potential can be fostered.

Continuing education is a vital part of a teacher’s professional growth; thus it is a vital part of our program. We require our teachers to attend a minimum of sixteen hours per year of workshops and/​or classes in early childhood education.

Her son’s preschool was changing its focus, and she was determined to create a play-​based learning environment for educated and experienced teachers. Little did she know what a challenge she was undertaking! It has been a positive experience, and the past nineteen years have been very rewarding as the children and Beginning Bridges families have touched her life.
