Triangle Hardware continues to provide great service. It’s great to support small independent businesses that take pride in their work and products. Ask for Ruthie; she is awesome!!!

I manage several rentals in the area and it is nice having this store conveniently located there instead of having to drive to Home Depo, which is an hour plus round trip. They usually have the things I need and I have found the employee’s to be attentive and helpful. I just called there asking if they had ¹⁄₈ hardboard to replace some drawer bottoms and the guy said he didn’t have that but went looking for other alternatives — at least he tried to come up with a solution.

I’ll never go back here again. The service is a joke, and the employees are terribly rude. Yesterday I went in to seek some help or guidance with a problem I had with some stripped screws. I brought the small parts in with me that had the stripped out screws. Upon walking in there was a heavy set man behind the counter watching tv, and another long haired guy with glasses ringing up a customer.
I waited in line after the person checking out so I could ask them some questions about what to do or what I needed for this. Once the long haired glasses guy was finished ringing up the customer, he looked at me and walked away from the counter and then literally just stood looking out the front door.
The heavier set guy sat at the other end of counter not looking away once from the tv he was watching. I waited for a minute then started to look at stuff on the wall next to me which was drill bits and such that I thought I could use. After finally calling out «hello?» to both guys after a few minutes had gone by of them aimlessly talking about the news, the long haired glasses guy came back to the register annoyed. I explained my problem and showed him the parts that had the stripped screws. Without a word, he grabbed something off the wall and threw it down on the counter in front of me… no explanation of what it was.
When I asked what I need to do with this, he was clueless, he just said «this is what you need.»
I asked if I needed anything else for it and he said «what else do you need?» At this point I was pissed and told him «I’m asking you, what do I need to fix this.»
When I read on the package of the extractor bit for some sign of help it said it needed to be used with a 5/​32″ drill bit. When I mentioned that to him, again without a word he grabbed a 5/​32″ drill bit off the wall and slammed it down like he did the first one. I should’ve immediately just walked out at that point and had not given them any money, but I had no time to drive around somewhere else and needed to fix this.
When I got home, both items he told me I needed were in fact the wrong size, and only worsened the problem with the screws.
Today I went in first chance I had to bring back the items and to tell them it was the wrong size and wrong thing I needed. I walked up and the same employee was just standing there staring outside. He followed me in and to the register where I was standing. I told him my dilemma and without a word he just started ringing up the register for a refund as I was talking. He slammed the money down on the counter without a single «sorry» «I apologize» «can I offer you something else?»
I grabbed my money without a word and walked out to head to Home Depot where I’ll take my business from now on.

I called ahead to make sure they had what I needed before walking in. Very friendly and helpful service over the phone. Right upon walking in, I was greeted at the door and shown to the product I was looking for. Once again, very friendly and helpful service. Prices seemed reasonable. Quick and easy transaction. Got home and the product I bought was a lifesaver — great quality too. Avoid the hustle and bustle of the Home Depots of the world — support your local hardware stores! Might even make a new friend in the meantime.

What a joke of an employee that I just ran into. Wish I could give a zero for him just alone! The idiot behind the till didn’t have a clue what was going on. Not helpful in the slightest and rude with a dumb look on his face when I asked the simplest of questions. Never coming back here again. I came in to ask how to fix my garage opener and it looked as though he was more concerned about what he was having for lunch rather than to help out a customer.

Always friendly and helpful, very close to home and wonderful employees /​owners. Just a little more expensive then the big box stores but worth saving the drive to go to Torrance or Hawthorne for the last minute items :)

Ace saved me today! I went in for some help with an insulation cut after installing my air conditioner and without hesitation, they were eager to help! So glad I went local and it was free! Thanks to everyone there! You made my day!

This place was recommended to me by a contractor friend. I came in for two little machine screws and lock nuts, and staff helped me find the right ones (in fact they approached me to help — which was refreshing). Super helpful and had what I needed. Several trips to Home Depot where the screws were a mess and out of stock… I’ll be coming back here from now on. Great to see small hardware stores still in business, and now I know why.

Called in for an inventory check and was handled by an extremely impatient, rude store clerk that proceeded to shout the product at me before hanging up on me. I’ll walk to Lowes or Home Depot before I give these people my business.

Love these guys! They are so friendly and helpful every time I go in. The prices are reasonable too.

The fellows that work during the week are terrific — in fact, it seems as if they treat all costumers equitably. Hence the two stars.
The weekend service, however, skewed the results. It is laughably lamentable, notably the obese fellow who stated that he was «super busy», and thus could not help me, but did inform me that I was free to wander the hardware aisle (aimlessly looking for screws). Said employee was seen, one minute later, standing idly, offering no help to anyone, perhaps counting the seconds till lunch. I would be fired for such pathetic service.
Note to owner: Many of us are folks with simple questions that one can adequately answer with minimal guidance, or perhaps a cursory «what are you looking for?»

I give one star for the location since it was close to where I live. I was recently given a parking citation there even though I was in their store and a PAYING CUSTOMER. I tried to appeal the citation and emailed the owner about my dispute but never got anywhere with it. After shopping there and get a ticket for it, I will no longer be coming here for anything, and I will be sure that others know not to shop here as well.

Super helpful and attentive staff. I was in a hurry and was able to get exactly what I needed, quickly, easily, and with great service. Would definitely consider returning.

Every time I walk in, there is someone greeting me and asking what I need! Usually Chuck who is Awesome. Being a girl (myself) or just someone unfamiliar with project needs they have, sometimes its intimidating entering a hardware store and I just want to pretend I know what I need and venture around. They know this and find their way to you again within minutes to offer assistance.
I first frequented this place as a single woman in my late 20’s and now I in my 40’s, married and live within blocks. Everyone is helpful when I go in still, and if something is a little out of their realm, they go to a colleague and figure it out.
Chuck has always been a face I am happy to see. He genuinely cares what project you are working on and wants to help you find the right tools to make that happen. Even mixing paint colors! Sure that is not ideal, but I came in wanting a green color I found on one of the color charts, and Chuck said «You got it! Be right back». (Which by the way they have awesome paints and color charts too in the back!!)
Triangle Hardware, including owner Sonny, Chuck, Brian, Michael (and more I don’t know names) is exactly what a small community needs! Local business that cares, thrives and has it’s customer needs in place!

I walked into this store about 4:30 in the afternoon needing a bunch of odds and ends. The salesman, if that’s what you would call him, looked like he had just gotten out of bed and smelled like a distillery! I walked out the door!

Love the store. Have been shopping there for 16 years. Employees are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Went there a week ago to get key made. The guy at the counter told me they didn’t carry the blank but if I brought in the right blank he could cut it. Found the blank in a standard blank catalog, Ordered the blank, brought it in but this time some cro-​magnon told me their boss told them they can’t cut a blank from another source.
This was not some double cut odd key. No transponder chip or anything like that. This was a standard key blank that they chose not to stock in their store.
So I went to Woods Ace Hardware in Torrance and they cut it without any hesitation.
From now on my business is going to Woods Ace. I don’t like getting the run around by the idiots at Triangle.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD STORE!
First off, I am not a well skilled handyman. Although, I do consider myself fairly handy around the house and do not shy away from a challenge. For a woman, many of my friends and even landlords have been surprised and impressed at what I’ve done on my own. This is especially satisfying since my husband is practically useless when anything needs to be fixed.
Here’s my story… I bought a used portable dishwasher that I found on craigslist in Glendale. The guy who I bought it from said that I would be able to easily hook it to my sink and have it work. Unfortunately, he lied and I ended up making 5 trips to Triangle Hardware. The first two was to find pieces to fit a nozzle that was supposed to just easily hook into my existing faucet. I think that the man that helped me was named Chuck. I’m so thankful for him. He was able to walk me through and disassemble the entire dishwasher, change and re-​hose the input/​output hoses, route it from an extra sink in my laundry room, and out flow into the washing machine drain pipe. This ended up taking me a full afternoon, but was completely worth it. The shop is so close to my house that I was able to make the necessary trips when I needed extra supplies.
Most of the employees that I have dealt with are helpful, patient, and friendly. The only negative thing I could say about the shop, is that sometimes the choices can be limited. Also, the woman that works there laughed at me instead of trying to help… which is discouraging as a woman trying to fix things on her own. So, I just try and steer clear of her.

I love this place. I am not handy so I rely on others to help me. Triangle is a place where I can walk in with a problem and walk out with a solution. Everything I’ve gotten through them has worked great.
I always find the people friendly and helpful, but given the reviews below, it’s fair to say that they can be a crusty bunch. I’ve always come in wanting to learn something, they’ve always gone out of their way to help me out and so I’m always satisfied.
The crustiness is only skin deep — and it may be the case that people who might come in with a know-​it-​all attitude or a condescending manner might not get the first rate service I’m used to. I’m just guessing.

This is great store! Has everything and a great staff that know everything about anything that you are fixing. Lots of Parts and a good selection. Just like the hardware stores of the good ol’days.
